- Big thanks to the Wiess family for having me out! I would never have thought that a rink that this would be right in the heart of the city!

Have you guys ever seen a better backyard rink!? If so what did it have that this one didn't?
Hi you are my favorite youtuber ever and I just want to say hi thank you
I have not but I really want one
we used to have an nhl sized one in my backyard every winter with boards. Still do the rink on occasion just no boards as my siblings and I are older and dont have the time to set them up
Nothing like this. It’s actually sick!
ben ratz you had a 200 x 85 rink?! How much water did that take? Chillers?
This isn't a backyard rink. It's a rink with a front yard house
🤣 That’s how houses should be.
Did you see the house, that rink is almost what I expect for that crib.
Front yard resort
😂😂😂
Rich people anywhere else: have pools
Rich people in Canada: have ODR's
I mean they have a pool too, lol
theres definitely a grecian pool where the loop-lock(best covers ever) was lol
Honestly, if I suddenly found myself with "This is just dumb" amounts of money, I'd probably do the same. Hell, I would skip on the nice house and just get myself a nice ice rink attached to a whatever home. Even just doing one that's the size of a full offensive zone and maybe half or the entire neutral zone would make for an incredible rink to have access to 24/7.
they have a pool and tennis court too lol
hello guys. im from czech republic and im pretty impressed with your hockey culture, your backyard rinks and your hockey skills even between amaters. I love this game since early childhood, but I grew up in a time where it was not possible to play hockey. unfortunately in the early 90's, after the change of political regime, we were all very poor and my parents couldn't send me to play hockey. so all most of us could do was play hockey on a frozen pond. That's why I think that's one reason why our generation today isn't as strong at hockey as yours, but it doesn't matter, we still love hockey. I hope to be able to visit Canada one day
Ice hockey is part of their identity..
There are sheets everywhere, the youth development is outstanding and it seems that everybody plays or has played...
@@robcowgill9845 not exactly...
I hope you're able to visit one day, too! Judging by your story, I think you'd fit in very well.
Shit...all you'd need is a Moosehead-brand beer and a fat joint, and I'm pretty sure you'd be issued citizenship at the airport.
Mad respect for you man hope you visit Canada
angry little boy@@hockeygoaliejesse
Imagine gettin all ur buddies and playin 3 on 3s on that
😫
Imagine having friends 😅
I would never get off that ice lol
Imagine having the money for this
SICK
This mans rink has more sponsors than my local rink...
I think those aren't real sponsors. They are probably there only for the looks
As explained in the video. It's a design element. Not real sponsors.
@@RedRisotto It’s a joke...
If I won the lottery I’m instantly buying a mansion with a backyard rink
Keep the mansion just give me the rink
A Canadians dream.
100%
YOOO i love ur videos man
No it’s every hockey players dream.
Here in Alberta we haven’t gotten any snow for the first time in my lifetime and lakes are like glass I’ve literally waited me entire life for it lol I spent 4 hours on the lake last night 😂 can barely move today
Sounds amazing !
Holy cow! Board ads and everything
i was wondering how they're getting away with doing that
@@chrisrmstrng I mean it’s their own house
Actually the ads suck, worst thing that ever happened to the game. CZcams a game back in the '70's and admire the beauty of a clean and pure sheet of ice with a focus on the game and not corporations. PS - great backyard sheet, guessing daddy has a bit of coin working for / owning a corporation......catch 22?
@@lolahunter8851 In regards to your PS - I agree, you can see the home owners right there in the video too and they all seem like great people. The family obviously comes from an elite financial situation and I wouldn't be surprised if any of the funding towards this rink had direct ties.
Hell I'll put ads and my car and house for a rink like that. Lol.
This family would easily be my favorite neighbors. I would actually bake an apple pie for them to try to weasel some ice time. Nice rink.
man if i was rich enough instead of a butler i'd have my own personal goalie to shoot against like 10 hrs a day.
I just want to go pond skating rn lol
Same
Frl
Man that’s so sick! Watching from Hawaii
😂
Used to be like this everywhere in Toronto, used to be -15C minimum during the winter, public schools that had the space would shovel snow to create the boarder then flood the middle with water making ice rinks everywhere. The city has grown so much and generates so much heat now that what used to be a normal winter day is now considered weather watch cold.
Merry Christmas Pavel, hope you had a sick time on the rink out there, looks fun and hopefully i can get some ice over here in illinois😂 and thanks for responding in that instagram groupchat, that really made my day, its been tough for me for a while know and ive been watching you for years and years and that really just brightened my mood so much. keep it up and thanks again Pavs
Man that is so cool , the detail that went into building that . Thank god hockey is our birth right . Thanks for sharing
This makes me miss Canada even more...
And wow, just awsome job. Thats a lof of research done before starting a project like this. Respect! 😀👍
You are the absolute best yt ever! And that is sick
Your stick handling is actually crazy, I am sitting back watching your edging and handles and thinking how is this guy not playing some form of pro somewhere and then I saw a couple of your shots and figured it out :). Even still the stick handling was amazing and can't wait to try some of those tricks, your control is unreal.
Can we talk about how well timed the music was when he walked up to it!!
That is an awesome Rink! Playing all day long, 3 on 3 with buds. Great job!
I remember as a kid growing up in Mississauga in the 70’s playing on the outdoor rinks in our neighbour hood. We had 2. One at our public school and another in a park close by. Epic games after school until dinner time. Then back after dinner till 9. On weekends from 9-9 just stopping to go home and eat and I never once remember drinking any water. That’s nuts.
You probably ate the fawk outta some snow, though.
I used to play in the ophl (Oakridge park hockey league) just outside of port credit. It was an outdoor league and I played for Bombers and there were 5 other teams .
I still have the red jersey #17 from '80 I was 8
I ended up playing at Cawthra Park just house league but loved playing in the Port Credit barn with the wood beams. I’m 55 now and still play. Great game
This is soo cool bro! Awesome that you got to dangle on that ice.
Gracias Amigo. For inspiring a 65yr. oldtimer. Awesome stick handling skills. I watched your You Tube "My Story" and if that was the 22 mile Cali. South Bay STRAND that you were skating on, I cycled it Mar. 2011 during a 6 day SoCal Canucks Road trip. Canucks won all 4 games. I am still recovering from the Bruins SCF loss. But that road trip has burned into my memory. I hope to skate the STRAND some day.
Again. Thanks.
Damn-um! That's soooo sweet! I wish I could do that here, but unfortunately it NEVER GETS BELOW FREEZING here at the Gulf of Mexico beaches of Florida! Great build....Love it! Go Lightning!
the fact that there is acronym (ODR) for out door rinks is kind of amusing for me. When I was playing minor rep hockey in Calgary in the 60's and mid 70's...we played on outdoor rinks for most of our reg season games...and only got to play on indoor ice for the playoffs...or if we played a small town team that had their own arena, like most small towns have. I don't remember getting regular indoor ice time until my last year of Bantam AA. Every single community in the city had at least one outdoor rink but usually 2. But from I can gather, not any more. I've lived in Prague for over 30 years and dont get back much...but really miss outdoor ice. There isnt any in Prague worth putting your skates on for and they packed with pleasure skaters.
Only wish I could have something that awesome in my backyard in Nova Scotia. We don't get the weather to cooperate even with a chiller. It was raining and +14 the other day and same weather expected on Christmas Thanks for posting, it's nice to see this stuff.
Wicked rink man! Great video as always.
Thats what im talkin bout. Yeah boys!!! Hello from Scotland from an expat Canadian GLG 🍁🍁🍁
yo that looks sick I love the vids keep up the good work
That whole video is as Canadian as maple syrup, beaver tails, and the RCMP!
That’s ridiculously insanely amazing. WOW
I always come back to this video
Glad to see both the new and old design of the logo at center. Gorgeous rink, it would be awesome to skate on that pad.
Watching this from Sydney Australia and I'm loving it!
Must be nice in quarantine that you can skate any time
Why would a sick person who is quarantining themselves want to skate? If you're quarantined, it means you have a disease and are isolating yourself from healthy people so that you don't spread it. That's what "quarantine" means. It does not mean that the psychopathic elite decide to shut down the world over an alleged virus with a 99.6% survival rate that nobody has seen any verifiable evidence for. Using death and infection statistics that are admittedly falsified as the fuel. Use proper english. Call it for what it is. Lockdown, and the stripping of basic human rights and free will, causing a social disconnect and division between docile, impressionable, naive majority, and those who actually use their head.
@@pearlmax did u actually put this much time into this dumb comment
@@joecapirchio8009 Do you suggest people just remain silent and complicit in an obvious psyop? You want to know what's dumb? Destroying people's lives based on a fake virus and calling it "quarantine". Then making jokes and t-shirts about it. Believing everything you are told by actors and psychopaths. Masking your faces, recirculating your own toxic exhaled waste for hours on end every day, being scared of other people, psychological abuse of an entire generation of children. Volunteering your natural health by getting injected with man-made, genetic code altering, first of its kind, short term-tested experimental injection in hopes of protecting yourself from a mythical illness that nobody has seen, or can produce any verifiable evidence for the existence of.
The most hockey I’ve watched and t a while.
when I eventually get a house, I am for sure spending the two weeks worth of work to build an outdoor rink again
This has to be the most Canadian thing I’ve ever seen
You must not be Canadian
@@user-dl3pe3nr1s good observation
Talk about BEAUTIFUL 🤩!
WOW! Thats a sick ODR!
damn nice setup they got there. I would've never left home with house like that lol.
Okay... Like what!!! That rink is insane! This would be a dream to play on this ice with some friends!
I love everything about this ODR .... except the Leaf logo ... so close to perfection though. 🤣🤣🤣
Moved from the GTA to Orlando almost 2 years ago. How I miss outdoor hockey!!!!
1:29 when your dog enters the dog park.
Seriously though that rink is incredible!
I wish we didn't need to have the boards plastered with ads, that way, more rinks could have the clear boards. The old St Paul Civic Center had them in Minnesota and to this day, I still think it was one of the coolest rinks. Glad to see these folks went with some of the clear boards. Looks sweet!
Man you have got some serious moves on you. :)
I live in sweden, the rinks are going to be closed in 2 months or even more😔 This is the First winter on so long without snow, i hate covid 19!! Wish i had this type of rink and train on my skating, stickhandling and shot. Good video Pav and hope we see echuder some day!😀// Sweden for life🇸🇪🇸🇪
Bandy rinks are open, atleast in Skövde.
Patriotism is cringe btw.
No snow still, go out and play some disc golf lol
@@Katt1n I have to disagree with that. Federalism is cringe.
@@kekkkkk169 Sounds like boot licking to me
The only words I have for this is just WOW
You should be in the NHL with how well you play on that rink!
This might be the most Canadian thing I have ever seen but I love it.
Ice-time is such a commodity. I can't imagine that incredible feeling of having unlimited access a few steps from my back door.
What a wicked rink- props to the goalie for being such a good sport
I called my son to come see this and he says - ‘oh Pavel Barber, my favourite you tuber’.
We are in Sask ODR still open but would love something like this in back yard!
"Hey ______, you still have that goalie equipment? Mind coming out for a few, just need a goalie for something."
proceeds to get LIT.
I’m from Detroit and have never seen a rink so perfect I wish I could afford one of these hockey is my all time favorite sport and I love playing it
That's a fine rink
and NHL needs to do that with the boards too
Imagin getting the boys and playing some pond hockey!!
Absolutely incredible! I’m building my ODR in Vancouver soon. I’ll send you a text when it’s done
Bet more Cups have been won at that rink than the Leafs have mustered since 67’🤣. That rink is freaking awesome!
that one looks amazing!
Come to Minnesota. My friend has boards and zam and everything on pike lake by Duluth, Mn
The ring is super cool but those skills are insane man.
NICE! Every Hockey Player's Dream! I Thought I Was LEGIT With A Superdeker!
This guy can skate and has great hands...
Any where you can skate and play hockey is awesome in my books...ponds...flooded fields..lakes...who cares..just get after it!....but have to say this rink is off the hook..great job..thnx for sharing
This is the most Canada thing I’ve seen all day
Congrats on moving!
How much did it cost and how long did it take to build it?
You are one hell of a player.
The real mvp is that poor tendy just in there getting shelled for a few hours straight. Poor guy lol
Awesome that's what hockey is all about the real hockey is alive
This is out of a dream!
Have a ice rink and that chiller definitely worked for that ice rink because on December 24th it was a swimming pool at mine
hey where are you from? I love your rink videos I have a great ODR in Kamloops bc Canada sadly I wish it was chilled :(
Merry Hockey Christmas
You made NHL 21 So Fun to Play
what an entrance
Seriously man this is such a cool rink with the leaves logo and the board sponsors. How much to buy it?
Very awesome and very jealous but definitely need a net upgrade eventually
Hey, what is the bag that Pavel has on his back at the beginning of the video?! I’ve been looking for a bag like this for so long ! Really great video by the way, loved it!
Check out Pacific Rink
This is heavenly
Beautiful!
Here in Germany lots of rinks have already been de-iced in December due to the pandemic :(
Amateur sports is not allowed so there is no need to maintain the ice for months if you can already foresee that the situation won't improve in winter.
Lucky you, really! This will be a whole season without hockey now here in Germany :/
exactly same situation in Estonia. and whats worse is for like last 3-4 year winters have been so shit, its always like plus 1 or 2 and you just cant make a rink or go on a pond and i feel like we are losing winter forever because i remember as a child we had amazing cold winters and hella snow every year
Yep, true for Germany as well.
Here in Munich we actually have quite a lot of rinks where you can play hockey. But so many of them are outdoor rinks where the season can just start in November if you are lucky enough and as of mid-February they start to de-ice already as it is way too warm.
Last year we had some practices on outdoor ice in January where it was so warm and windy that you could barely play. The wind blew all those nasty leaves onto the ice so you would just slip away and the rain which was coming down just before just accumulated in the corners without freezing or you had a lot of small elevations from the freezing rain on the ice and would fall down all the time...
I would love to try this one
I can only imagine having something like that it's a EPPIE SET UP I would never leave
Great job very nice to see
I keep watching rink videos even though it hasn't snowed here in sydnet Australia in over 100 years Lol
I would have skipped the ads on the boards, but what a rink!
4:36 aka the legendary double tap in mid air side to side goal.
Wow, they can play in the summer with that ice refrigerator.
No. Explained in the video: up to around +5. It's Toronto... not the North Pole.
Goalie looks like Freddy Anderson in a game #7.... lol
LET'S GO PEN'S!!!
How is their rink skateable at 5 degrees but my cities brand new refrigerated rink is always fkn closed when it's slightly warm?? lol
That goalie has to get his glove up
Every kid in in the GTA wants one of these for Christmas now. Hopefully the weather stays cold and we can skate in our backyard rinks.
Buffalo is about to get blasted with snow Christmas Day. Not sure if you guys will see any of it but the temps are gonna drop big time so that’s good. Too bad it’s gonna be 50 tomorrow lol.
Awesome place!!
I wanna go so cool I miss hockey ☹️😣
That is incredible
Nice man!
That’s insane!
What are the actual dimensions of the rink ? Looks to be about 130 x 65 at a distant glance.
