I watched your video on the installation of the Ultrex a few years back... Helped me out a lot! I'll be referring to this one in the future when I upgrade. I have the Minn Kota Quick Release Bracket installed.. Will it match up with that? Thanks for the great video!
Hi Ken, thanks for the note. The hole pattern for the Ultrex QUEST is the same as the 1st gen Ultrex but you'll need to bore the mounting holes out a bit bigger to account for the thicker stainless mounting hardware. Andy covers down on this difference in the video.
Good to see the safety aspects . ALWAYS USE CIRCUIT BREAKERS (Fuses). Its very important also use a good fuse holder and ALL the components in the electrical circuit are rated for the High Currents when the motor is in use. Last but not least: Keep out Any Moisture from the Fuse block 😁⚠️

Will my fortrex 24 volt plug be ok to reuse like he did in the video. My pro V bass had the 36volt plug upgrade but i only use 24 and not sure what plug the dealer put on the fortrex but looks the same
Adding a heading sensor still adds functionality without a Humminbird Fish Finder. The functionality is related to the Spot-Lock Jog feature, which may not be relevant to you. Per the HB product page: This Bluetooth-enabled heading sensor contains a compass that detects your boat's heading and communicates it to your trolling motor to enable the Spot-Lock Jog feature, which lets you move your Spot-Lock location in 5 ft. increments in any direction.
Yes, we were informed that the Ultrex QUEST is shipping to many marine dealers on July 1st, so those businesses would be a good starting point. Ulterra and Terrova is slated to ship later this summer.

Was the quest lighter or heavier than the ultrex ?

Has anyone ran into the mountain not releasing to fold up to access the holes to mount?

If you are replacing the older Ultrex with the Quest do the mounting holes line up or do you have to drill new ones
Mine lined up. Just need to drill larger. Quest bolts a little larger

good question, yes they do. You just need to bore out the original holes a bit bigger with the drill bit size specified in the vid.
