this is alot of fun
I ran a olympic sized pool back in the 80s and cannot imagine the cost. Combine complex,heavy moving parts with water+ electricity+ maintaining it is incredibly expensive. Would need to run 18 hr a day, 7 days a wk in a tourist area. No novelty riders or once in a while is going to pay the bills which are only going to get higher over time, not lower.

Assuming this is a freshwater wave, how does it compare to salt? No foam. Do you track a little deeper in the water without the density of the salt providing more float than freshwater? Looks so fun. Would love to ride this someday. As big an innovation as the half pipe. Put some lights under water and have a full moon, glowing nighttime tube fest. Love to ride in a glow tube.

at that size, it would suit a boogie board - much easier to fit into those barrels for the average person. add a foot or two, and you dont have to crouch so much

The "wave garden cove" seems to be the answer to all the problems with these types of pools which just really are first generation "wave garden" models rather the revolutionary surfing experience the WSL keeps advertising. It's not economically viable to have one wave every few minutes when it's already possible to have 1000 waves an hour. The sooner they face reality the faster we'll see progress in wave pool tech and design.

Wow, AWM made Kelly's wave pool concept look like it was created 10 years ago.
2 waves an hour is a joke, and about what I expected.
It looks fun but I think it's like a sex toy I believe the search for waves and the places to surf are a major part of the thrill plus the unpredictable nature of surfing .
when we pass by a dairy we say "I smell money" because every aspect is sold . milk, meat, tallow, manure , bull service , calves , veal , cheese . when you ride waves at Kelly's wave ranch what do you smell ? money . now can I get some autographs from you guy's some day ? lol that'd be great :-D

This is horrible. The worst thing ever that may happen to La Quinta, CA. We would then be forced to live next to freeway noise all day and night long, 14 hours. Our train would be larger and louder, announcers every 4 minutes. La Quinta Mayor Linda Evans and City Council stinks even entertaining this ridiculous project. Put it in the middle of nowhere like the Lemoore one, not next to our homes. Pathetic.
"Ranch" is a shite word.
