I'd rather have a photo shot of the moment that actually happened at a point in time rather than an ai enhanced version of what it should look like. Just a personal opinion btw
Yes that’s one of the main reasons I use apple still yes they use slight AI enhancement in certain modes but it still looks as raw as possible compared to let’s say the s22 that looks amazing it just looks too vibrant and less raw
@@HenneyGaming As an xperia user I agree with you apple tends to light faces unevenly but apart from that it looks natural, Samsung is oversaturated and the pixel somehow seems straight out artificial. Personally I'd prefer Apple,sony and Xiaomi's processing
@@keshanwaidyanayake2056 yes this might sound crazy but the s23 camera is obviously better at those distances but it looks too good. Too colorful but other than that I love all phones

@@HenneyGaming they do make their own exynos chips but those are down right ovens at high loads their cameras are good the only reason i don't switch is they don't have the level of manual tuning on the Xperia cameras plus they don't have some hardware features I want other than that it's a great phone for the majority

Pixel's processing is a little different from what was said in the video. It doesn't make sky more blue because it knows that it's sky. Most of the process consists of taking a lot of underexposed photos and then merging them for denoizing purposes. It also calculates motion of each pixel in the photo to know where to use less of information taken to minimize blur. There is a couple more things that i cant explain in this comment, but essentially all of the processing is just pure math, no AI. They use ai only in google photos after the photo was already processed
Why would you describe HDR as an primary step of postprocessing and include something about denoising even if it's not necessarily right?
There would never be any noise if you shoot at 100-200 ISO, so HDR is more about keeping image detalization, contrast, shadow/flicker information as high as possible.
But Pixel is so well known for AI processing that it's really unquestionable. AI detects different objects and light scenarios, then combines photo and enhances with using vast database that Google has learnt the model.
Now, every company has an AI enhancement on some level, but Pixel is the most advanced in it, because they're more of a software company and don't want to invest into hardware.
@@Fantander1 google calls their HDR method HDR+ read about it on the internet. And no, if you take underexposed photos at low iso and boost them (which is exactly what pixel does) you get noise, and a lot of it
@@Fantander1 and they use ai only in Google photos, as a way of editing them, not while taking the photo itself. But you are partially right though, the phone uses its tensor cores and neural networks to do the denoising more efficiently. But that's not exactly AI
@@NomanBeats1111 that's what google said in their blog... in 2021. It's already 2024 and they have been very vocal about how the heavy work on photography was in the tensor chip, btw, if you look at the difference in post processing in pixel 4 to pixel 6/7/8 It's noticeable that the resulting photos are not as organic as they used to be.
Google is claiming a lot of features, perfect tone, better noise reduction, the new algorithms for digital zoom... all those things are perfectly suitable for AI. Also new features that like remove objects, unblur, perfect face thing are making thinner the line between "math" post processing and AI enhancements.
I think there should be some kinda badge where it's gonna tell us it's an edited AI photo.
But you'd still be able to remove that using paint apps like Sketchbook or just some other remove object app

I don't know about AI but I think regular photos were better (on any phone) few years ago. All that post processing stuff kinda ruins things pretty often, I think it's still not on level as it should be.
Its just gonna be another thing to look out for. Whether its fake ads or giveway youtube comments
"What is a photo" is something Nilay Patel @TheVerge was saying for years on their podcast - The Vergecast... Worth listening to their pod when the pixel 8 was announced and magic eraser etc.

I think it’s cool when used artistically but I definitely worry about how it can be used. Especially for defamation of character or as evidence to falsely incriminate someone. I think safeguards need to be made for such things.

This is why I prefer using a DSLR, I took a lot of pic with my P7P and the pics looks good, then they process it. It's not bad but sometimes I prefer the out of camera version
For be short, I can say it's cool and I worrying about what could be in a few years it can become something what can erase all crime scenes from photos and other staff, but it can came other where it can recognize what is bad and what good and just not do anything with these photos and I wish it will go second way

I am not worried because most people won’t know how to do it even though it’s so simple. Like I showed someone that they have a magic eraser and that had no clue that they could even do that. They have used galaxy over 25 years.
I like AI, when it comes to photos and AI made images. Specifically the one on my S23+, because I use it to remove people from my photos for privacy reasons. Very helpful, but doesnt always make the best looking things. Neat video, Parker! Do you use AI for images?

Anything has the potential to be used for good, but the problem arises when certain technologies are put out for the masses. As wel all already know, some people are just malicious and will use readily-available technology to do evil stuff.

Android : we have advance post processing for photography so you dont have to edit it and can post it straight away cuz our phone are so laggy the editing app can run properly.
Iphone : we have more NATURAL looking photo, and our phone run very fast, so you can edit your photo to the max in the editing app.

He's just a Karen in This Video. Dude Ofc Photo is real it's Jpg and png you know what would not be a real photo you keep on emphasizing is a video. Just call it Original and Edited. End Of story. Taking it little Further, Only The Nature is real, even what we see with our eyes are also limited. But for the real image you're taking about camera is a RAW photo.
