Good on you David. Great to hear you & Luxon/Willis have the ability to cooperate and work together. We can reform our island paradise with a bit of consistent smart/dilligent work. Our consumer based not manufacturing economy is why we dont have good financial literacy. Doing it honestly will be the medicine we need. I feel for tenants and landlords alike in this situation.
Great interview, thanks James and David. The All In Podcast has recently done something similar with US presidential candidates and it is exceptionally refreshing to hear the views from our political leaders when they are not being antagonised and interrupted by modern mainstream media. Although I don''t agree with everything David has shared on this interview, many if not most of ACT’s policies make a tonne of sense and regardless I appreciate the transparency over opacity. It would be great and beneficial to New Zealanders leading up to the election to see/hear similar content from other current or previous high profile politicians i.e Swarbrick, Robertson, Peters, Key, English. Again thanks James, Michael, Matt and the team for taking the time in continuing to build this great and maturing podcast!
Retirement age. In 1972 a fantastic long-term scheme was introduced. National abolished this. Labour created the superfund and kiwi Saver. Far thinking.
WTF Bullshit we had the best funded healthiest welfare scheme in the world untill Muldoon stole it while in power between 75 and 84 when he bankrupted NZ and both National and Labour have done nothing but fk every scheme ever since.
Colin Murray is a mortgage broker in Napier, says during Covid 19, lots of people borrowed to the max and now the interest rates are back to the average over the last 10 years they in difficult times as they over borrowed.
Excellent interview. You have some great ideas. New Zealand needs 100,000 plus Tall Poppies. Gut the bureauracy . Throw away the nanny state. Create an environment for all people to become wealthy. From an ex Kiwi who went to Asia with his millions $ to live the great life surounded by self reliant , resilient people who are making the most of their lives and not expecting their government to do much.
This is ot about who gonna run the country and help their citizen. This is all about top job. Who gonna benefit ? The rich off course. LUXON, DAVID, All talk to get to the top. They will do nothing. They all the same.i dont care who win. Im well off off so im okay. I feel sorry for the downstairs. They will suffer more and the upstairs getting rich.
If people have high debt and the cost interest high. This is the problem with debt based economy and banking deregulation in 1984/85. They created some house inflation.
refer to their tax policy . u would see more take home pay including tax free on first 12k . u might also anticipate a larger economy so more demand for all of the above which we don’t keep up w internally
Habour crossing! Only people on the North Shore need it. National abolished the bridge toll . If it had not done this, a large fund would be there. Also, long-term leadership in 1950 would have seen a rail line built from Orewa to Takapuna, then onto Glenfield, Northcote ,Birkdale into tunnel to New Lynn.
Housing affordable. Australia has a similar issue. They say we are far from population centre's so why is demand so high? Christine Fletcher ex MP said Auckland has enough land. Council just needs funds to renew pipes etc.
Shopping in aus for clothes for example if 50% cheaper and better quality eh/my experience with melbourne anyway. Do we need more importers? Or start local nz made clothes again?
people are living longer , so the retirement community will become a larger burden on the state in the future . raising individual responsibility is going to take the edge off , tho as pointed out , not being able to use any of those savings to payoff ur debt maybe counter intuitive .
People could listen to " How Wealth Inequity Spiraled out of control by Robert Reich . He is American, but it shows what has happened in NZ or similar.
We cannot move forward until we address the covid response and its massive destruction of independent incomes from professionals to business and self employment. Why are we still not permitted to discuss this issue openly and the reset agenda behind it?
Chri-cinda Lux-dern has already stated that the $5 fee is going back on to fund the cancer treatments, taking the winter subsidies off the pensioners to fund there spending, so much for all this money coming from wasteful government spending, Chri-cinda and side kick Chippy Willis are bloody liars and are going to keep kicking New Zealanders in the guts just as slyly as the Ardern Communist regime
Gee davids really scrapping the bottom of the barrel now, doing interviews with any tin pot operation with a cera a couple of mics and a CZcams channel.
Disagree, if anything an audience like this is much more targeted and there is a growing need for independant content distribution outside of the bureaucracy of maintstream media across the entire political spectrum.
@@Vandalistt_You're totally correct, Far better than the lying bullshit mainstream media that was bought for proper gander purposes by the Ardern Communist regime.
This guy is so, so far ahead of the pack it’s ridiculous
Great interview...definitely leaning ACT.
Responsible respectful interview Bad times ahead for sure but still have hope for NZ post election

Great interview with David and ACT thank you, it's the detail in their policies that are heard on these channels, I'm voting for ACT
Recall Act may not form a coalition if National does not agree alot with them.
Yeah rite Seymore wants power no way in hell will he not bend to Chri-cinda Lux-dern, these people are all bullshit and bravado till the crunch comes
He talked about Canadian immigration. They have a big headaches now if look at media.

the country was in the toilet before rogernomics stepped & would still have been in one after the crash of 87
ACT does not say how cleaners, fruit pickers, truck drivers, or lawnmowers will benefit immigration of overseas workers who will benefit ?

If everyone moved to Oz and NZ could be a nature reserve. Joking
Why there is no ☕ or 🍵for David? 😇

The Super Fund, Kiwi Saver. How important are they?
people are living longer , so the retirement community will become a larger burden on the state in the future . raising individual responsibility is going to take the edge off , tho as pointed out , not being able to use any of those savings to payoff ur debt maybe counter intuitive .
In Canada they think about rent controls.
Economic growth ! How will it be shared?

u won’t see an independent inquiry from labour . u had a choice remember .
Look back to 1935 to 1945 period to see how public housing was built quicker then today. Why?
He talked about less tax and fees. Prescription charges. A small tax!

any tax should make sense , giving away free prescriptions is the gift 80% didn’t ask for or need .
Act Party does support the idea super fund idea ( save as you go).
It best idea.
Will Act fund the super fund.
Oz has compulsory super.
Oz has optional contributions to receive the 11% from an employer . It’s the best of both worlds
Lack of incentive, and too much time spent on compliance instead of profitmaking is refteshing to hear a politico say.
Checks and balances for goodness sake
It's called a play on words.
why do they want to get rid of the first home grant.. its such a kick in the guts to the younger generation
Because it's government money inflating the housing market.
@@Jay-oh1li sure.. but its targeted at young people who have already been massively disadvantaged in home ownership
@@Tantium I agree, so there probably needs to be other changes as well to reduce demand or increase supply.
@@Jay-oh1li yet they want to increase immigration and therefore the demand also
@@Jay-oh1li Funny how under the old housing Corp loans for first home buyers at lower interest rates never created inflated prices
Is it just me or does David kind of look like an Emu?
Remember "Red Dwarf" ? He looks rather like Rimmer, the incompetent fool of a commander. There is a similarity in many respects.
I totally get that! E.M.U! An Energetic Male Uber-intellectual!
