Judged one of the best in the country. It was honored with the Showcase award by the International Ford Retractable Club. That means it scored at least 900 points. I was told the judges are extremely critical and the car needs to be completely factory correct. Only 200 miles since restored. I bought it from a collector in Nebraska. He restored and owned a 57, 58 and this 59. I tracked down the president of the IFRC Nebraska chapter. He is very familiar with this car and spoke very highly of it.
EXTERIOR: It's truly incredible. The fit and finish of the exterior of this car is outstanding. The body is laser straight, the panel's all fit superbly. The paint is laid out like glass. I've been around the entire car and truly did not see a flaw. Jambs are pristine, weatherstrips, sill plates and window seals were replaced. The chrome and trim is out of this world. All of the chrome is done to a show quality, high standard. The stainless trim is straightened and polished like chrome. Even the often overlooked pieces were redone: window frames, gold emblems etc. It has all new tinted glass. Some of the features include dual mirrors, stainless steel skirts, reverse lights, exhaust deflectors, bumper tips, flying eclipse hood ornament, fender decorations, rocker trim. It has the exact reproduction white wall tires that should be on the car. The pristine hubcaps are have the optional red white and blue centers. The top is functioning like new, it was recently serviced.
INTERIOR: I'm having a hard time putting into words just how nice this car is, the interior is no exception. The seats feel brand new, they've been completely rebuilt and cushioned. Has power seat. Has the correct tri color reproduction upholstery with the chrome piping. The door panels are the correct reproduction with the chrome foil trim. The dash area is gorgeous. Has the optional dash pad that fits perfectly. All the metal is painted glass finish. The instruments, knobs, lenses, radio, clock etc look brand new. Has Town and Country radio, clock. Has the factory air conditioning unit down below the dash. Above, the headliner is pristine, visors were replaced.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has it's original 332 motor that's been rebuilt. The engine compartment looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. Every component is restored, rebuilt and refinished. It features power steering and brakes. It has factory air conditioning that works! I assumed it did not work. I tried it for kicks and was very pleasantly surprised to hear the compressor kick on and feel cold air.

I'm not generally a fan of the styling of late 50s American cars but I do appreciate the attention to detail in many of them.

You are correct! Ford messed up the titles so bad in 1959 trying to catch up to the Chevrolet Impala and confused everyone, all because of the label on the trunk lid or on this one, on the back panel below the chrome that they used. The just got cheap and didn't fix the problem. But...this is a magnificent example of the car. My oh my...it is so pretty. My favorite year. And having to trailer it is, of course, necessary. I would really rather have a driver to show off...even a 4 door hard top would be nice.

Ford never called it a Fairlane 500 Galaxie, just "Galaxie". I am old enough to know.

@@VoloMuseumAutoSales Not a chance! They wouldn’t put the material or workmanship in today’s cars they did back in that era.

My first car was a NEW 59 custom 300. Metal when I bought it, bondo when I sold it in 65 except for the aluminum rocker panels I made.
Keep it out of the salt and rain. Make friends with a good mechanic.

Ford called the new for 59 Galaxie just "Galaxie", never Fairlane 500 Galaxie, despite the Fairlane 500 on the deck lid.

My only recommendation is to take the fender skirts off. I especially liked the 57, 58 and 59s; but no skirts.

Oh gosh, that is a heavy lift isn't it. It is to bad that all of the cars are now collectable items worth a fortune. A normal person cannot touch one these days. I wonder where they get their money.
