Mate, it wasn't until seeing your videos that I realized why some Tricorders on DS9 & VOY had missing LEDs. Now I know it was the arrangement of the batteries haha
Yes, I'm not sure what the idea was at the time (1995?). The static circuit eats the battery but the flashing circuit lasts for hours. Both the positives can be connected together to run from a 5 volt cell with no disadvantages. And the medical circuits have less static LEDs in them so they last longer, maybe 20 minutes extra.
@@tristangoodfellow9180 I second that! You think how many of those J cells they went through. I couldn't get the mark VII to last longer than 30 minutes with the grain of wheat bulbs and J cell. And yet with 4 AAA cells I've had the VII running for almost 2 hours.

@@ktreplicas I think anything would be preferable to the j type batteries used on TNG 😂

@@ktreplicas absolute results! 2 hours compared to 30 minutes is heavenly 😍
Why do you torture me with these, I want one so bad.
Sorry, I feel bad now. I'm still working on the new batch.
@@ktreplicas don't feel bad i'm sending you my address. . .😉
