- Gustavia is the main town of the island of Saint-Barthélemy (also known as Saint Barts). It was named after King Gustav III of Sweden. St. Barts was a French possession originally, and the area was called Carenage after the shelter it provided to damaged ships. Gustavia was founded after Sweden bought the island from France in 1785. The island was sold back to France in 1878

What a beautiful little French gem in the eastern caribbean. However was this a sunday or something all the retail shops were closed including the bar/restaurant. Lot's of traffic but nobody around. I guess it is a good thing it allowed you to do this video in peace and with no hesitation.
Hi Lou! yes st. barth is really beautiful and I made this video on a Sunday morning and the shops were all closed, keep in mind that during the day the people are all on the beach and the city comes alive at night!!!
