Wow, this is a great update 🙌 I sure hope they add the ability to reduce shine on people's faces and realistically improve skin (wrinkles etc) without a blanket soften effect.There's a great Photoshop technique for this that involves blending modes but currently no way in Lightroom to replicate...of course, an automatic AI feature for this would be even better. Thanks for the tips, Matt!

At 10.58, I appreciated that jump forward, because my MacBook IR M1 2021 model takes so long to find each face, I could have edited hundreds of shots with simply pressing K and weilding my brush....

Thanks Matt. Good video as usual. Took an image into Lightroom and used new features and was pretty happy with results. Did side by side to the same processed video, and , at this point , I think I prefer the NEO edit. Will probably play a bit more with this.

I always enjoy your Videos Matt, but this one is particularly great. Very precise, and I spent hours last night playing about with the Masks on previous photos. Avoiding all the time it took me to turn exposure down on just faces or backgrounds, with this update, is SO much faster. It has already improved a ton of my photos. So thanks for the great Video, I will be going to take a look at your training package now, as honestly your tips on which sliders to move to make things pop, were things I had never used. Thanks again.

Matt, this update is wonderful and I invested in your tutorial and preset package. However, the presets did not include your two "All Masks" presets. I understand how to make my own, but it would be great to already have these included in the preset package. You already named the individual masks, if I understand correctly, so that is one benefit. I logged a support case via your site, by the way. I am looking forward to streamlining my portrait editing and maximizing Lightroom Classic in the process!

Very good video, thanks for sharing. Saw this vid pop up right before I was about to edit a portrait gallery, and it definitely saved some time. I use Photoshop, as well as Neo, but I found myself still doing some either beginning of workflow tweaks, or end of workflow tweak. Either way, I think this update went a long way in making a very good Start Point, or End Point, and I will definitely be trying out the batch processing, which I unfortunately came back after my editing and watched at the end... lol

I have updated the latest version and after the download I can remember I got the latest version but now when I open Lightroom Classic today for whatever reason it has reverted to the version I had previously, I’m so frustrated. I go back to Adobe Cloud to make sure it has been downloaded, everything is up to date but when I open Lightroom Classic it just reverts to the older version. Have you any ideas Matt. The Lightroom Classic catalog version at the top says I have the v12 but when I open up the masks icon it doesn’t give me the new layout of setting individual people etc.
It's a good thing I've got your presets, updating Lightroom to the new version removed all my other ones :(
Thanks so much for these presets and for the video. I use PS for my editing and if I copy these into the correct folder I can load them in the Camera Raw filter in PS as well!.

Neat additions. I have been using Portrait Pro for years now (I am still using V.17) and the earlier portrait pro is still IMO better for portrait retouching. Of course, I had to pay extra for the Portrait Pro but, pro-rated over te years, the extra cost is minimal.

Thanks! I think presets can be great as long as you understand they're only a starting place. You will always need to adjust them for your photo and taste, but they can be a big creative boost or time saver.

Can you batch edit these portrait AI masks? Like the way you could with select sky. Copy the edits and it would do a new AI mask of the sky in the other photos automatically?

It's already out Wayne. Try the "Refresh" option in your Creative Cloud Updater app, or try restarting your computer if that doesn't work.
I noticed on the eye white edit you subtracted the side of the eye that was already lit using the brush, how does that work when you want to sync across a bunch of other headshots though? Probably best to avoid using the brush I am guessing?
for batch processing, example doing a step and repeat with a background for headshots, can you copy the masks, and Lightroom AI will find the areas in the next photo?
i do this currently with radial filters, luminosity, and subject mask and adjust there.

awesome update so far especial curves in local masks been asking for this for ages. But as usual with adobe product updates there is glitches....AI people detection for the new masks isn't working.....unable to load ai selection model message😑
The new Edit Icon should have "Show" as well as "Hide" the Mask Panel. Shift+W will Show/Hide the Mask Panel as in previous versions. Best…jf

Hmm, I can now use the tone curve inside a mask i ACR. However this doesn't seem to work in Lightroom. Do you know why?

I'm using latest LRC version and i was so eager to use these new masks and presets but every single time when i try to select object or background on single person photo, i get message "Something went wrong", any input will be great help. Thx
Remove the app and download it again. That should solve the issue. You may lose your personal settings, so save any presets etc
Nice! But what about wildlife photography? This is not possible for animals!

All it did was make a selection for you. Isn't it still up to you what you do with that selection and how you edit the photo?
Honestly, this update made the process of editing becoming like a easy single player game where you turned on your trainer in background to cheat. I mean, man, when those AI detected masks falls pin point on subject damn it felt fucking creepy to me at first.
