From what I understand, this song is about those who are left behind after believers are raptured and finally realize their folly when it's too late.

Paid For The official channel it just seems you were taking lyrics at face value and I think you should know that it is way deeper than that. But to your credit the do use a lot of biblical references take their name for example it comes from a passage in revelations. And by the way if you like looking for spiritual themes check out their song the beast and the harlot it has to do with another passage in revelations. Thank you and have a blessed day. And in no way was my original comment made out of disrespect.

Stop thinking of it as "glorifying something" cause its not. Its just a song that tells a story with no personal ties to the band themselves. This is done a billion times in rock and metal. Listen to Dear God by Avenged Sevenfold a lot different than this.

The song is describing a prophet the speaks of the end of the world and the narrator’s thoughts on spending time with his significant other because he does not know whether he will go to heaven or hell. It’s also describes the way that the masses can uproar over one person’s religious thoughts and opinions.

Metal is a very passionate genre of music. It expresses emotions you won't find in most other music.
Some of it definitely might be cathartic, but a lot of it has the intent to support and heal. It is full of metaphors and symbolism, without much attachment to what others define them by. Satan, evil, and often times God as well are all used to represent other subjects and feelings rather than their biblical meanings.
Stories of personal depression and anger, tributes to the death of loved ones, and songs made to support a cause can all appear right along side songs made as middle fingers to certain groups of people in an album. None of metal is made to glorify or support sides, and you'd do well to not picture it like that. There's no need for concern over "impressionable teens." I'm seventeen, and people seem to think most youth are weak-willed. I disagree with that sentiment, but even if it was the case, it'll hurt the youth a lot more than it would protect them. Freedom of thought and the ability to explore these emotions and subjects provide a lot of mental development kids need; the restriction of this is what has lead much of my generation to being close-minded and rather dull, if you ask me.
All in all, I'd still say that it's a great video; rather intriguing to see your reception of it.

Yes one of the reasons I listen to metal and avenged sevenfold is because it puts out a powerful energy all through my mind, body, and soul that makes me feel powerful, invincible, and a total badass. The total opposite of what I am lonely, depressed, scared, angry, etc. Avenged Sevenfold and other bands have helped me through my troubling teenage years and still to this day with issues on a personal level.

  • @jeffjefferson2853

This song is about a sinner who is living through the biblical apocalypse. It's not justifying or glorifying anything, it's telling the story of humanity's downfall from the point of view of someone who knows he's probably going to hell because he can't let go of his sin. The whole album, City of Evil, is themed around how sin leads to the downfall of humanity. So the album does kind of have a Christian message.

  • @RichBaxter73

Personally I don't feel that its the artist's responsible to self censor what young minds hear or see, that responsible rest firmly at the feet of the parents to listen to it and engage in conversations with their kids. There are so many tools out there to help parents with doing just that. For a more in depth argument of this please take time to listen to Dee Snyder from the band Twisted Sister testimony before Congress in 1985.

You don't understand the song. The story of this song is about a man whose life in misery and sees something most of people don't. He sees people swallowing lies for life, stab in the dark whilst they don't realize it will wound their future. I think the message of the song is to look forward in the future, that there will be chaos if mankind is not considering the sins that they're doing.
