Dude it's not any different then pop. The vocalist uses an effect on his microphone to sound like a villain from power rangers, and most of the drums are off a studio drum machine using heavy sampling, there's nothing metal about this.

Asked my mom if she had heard the metal version of Let It Go. She said no so I load up the video on CZcams. The second it starts playing my little girl starts banging her head back and forth with her version of "Rock on" fingers in the air. My mom had a shocked look on her face lol. Even though the growls are overproduced as hell, they still sound wicked, and the guy sounds incredible live.

Batterie64 The growls are like this on the entirety of the Phantom album. Don't know if they're like that on the rest of their albums, since I haven't given them a listen. But yeah, they sound of putting at first, but they grow on ya.

it's the difference between screaming/growling and clean singing. Both need a lot of hard work to be good. But this is a metalcore/deathcore cover so you should expect brutal vocals in it.
Actually, he is singing, it is really hard to sing that way and just because you don't like it doesn't mean you can say it's not music!
Canal VeKtor Calling that singing is like calling rap singing, it's not, sure it's not easy, but here's the thing, the reason i hate it is not just cause it sounds stupid, but because i can't understand a word he is saying.
I had the same issue with many generic rap songs, and i actually like some rap. The key to alot of the rap i like though is that i can understand what they are saying, unless you're doing a really up beat hyper song, there should be no reason that your 'singing' should sound hard to make out. That goes double for a cover of a song i actually know the lyrics to.

That's why rapping is rapping and not singing... Screaming isn't singing either, but growling is. You are using your vocal chords when you growl and in order to change between high and low, you of course are required to know how to sing. Singing is involved with growling. Now screaming on the other hand, is just forced from your diaphragm... so I don't, well I personally wouldn't consider that singing...
