- Hi folks!
Welcome along on another mini-adventure with the DD Frontline hammock. This time, I hike and camp in Liesjärvi National Park. www.nationalparks.fi/liesjarvinp
I hike and camp in the rain for the first time ever!
The trail takes me through woodlands bordered by lakes and I visit a traditional farm at a place called Korteniemi. The weather forecast predicted rain and after some thunder and heavy drops of rain, it rained cats and dogs for most of the evening, night, and the following morning. The rain brought out the frogs, and I even discovered two golden-eyed toads. After reaching the campsite at Savilahti I set up my hammock under the DD Superlight XL tarp and was warm, dry, and cozy all night.
All footage was shot with a GoPro Hero 11.
I hope you enjoy this video. Feel free to comment or leave a like.
See you on the next trail!
Cheers, Kevin.
Great video by the way! Short, sweet and to the point! Some guys spend half the video cooking!
Thanks! Some hikers like to cook, that's ok too. For example, I like watching @KentSurval videos. He knows how to make really nice food!
We have these same beetles where i walk. .
Looks like a nice relaxed camp .
I think they're quite common. It was quite tranquil, saw only a few people all day. Just me and nature 👍
Hello Kevin. That's a beautiful area and a nicely made film. You have a new subscriber!
Hi Barnaby! Welcome to the channel! ☺️ As I write this, I am in my hammock by a frozen lake. It is forecast to go to -10C tonight. It is very still and clear with a full moon lighting up the landscape. You could walk around with no headlight. Every now and again the. Ice cracks and the sound echoes like a pistol shot. Quite startling!
@@snowcelt That sounds fantastic! The weather there was a little kinder than in Clare last night. Yet more strong winds and rain. -10 in a hammock is cold - hope you made it out with all of your toes!
@@BarnabyNutt I got back this afternoon safe and sound, thanks. My setup was perfect for the conditions so I was warm all night. I filmed the experience so should have that vid uploaded soon. ☺️
I own a top made by quicksilver that i can wear wet or dry with about ten minutes to dry in the air . . It is a surfing rash guard .
If i know ill be sweatinh and need to be warm overnight i will grab this top .
Sounds like a clever idea. I'll have to look into it.
@@snowcelt of all the tops I have the thermal properties of the quick silver one are superior . It also won't ride up to the rib cage .. like others do .
How you liking driving on the correct side of the road?😉
I've gotten used to it. I have to be really careful now when I go home and drive in Ireland.
