Hey Cl3ver, fun fact: you can erase sharpie with dry erase marker. All you have to do is just scribble over top of your lines then erase. Alternately, just wipe down with hand sanitizer. The alcohol breaks down the ink. And I know we all have a plethora of sani now lol
That IS a fun fact! Thank you!!!
And if the sanitizer doesn’t take the marker off enough, a bottle of high % (90%+) iso alcohol covers many sins. Its also great for general cleaning, electronics, finishing 3d prints, heck, you can even use it for its basic purpose, sterilizing wounds (though i don’t recommend it)
Yep
Wet erase markers are going out of style, but are still very much available, don't smudge much, and wipe off with water.
@@SkillTree I paused halfway through the video to say that as well, lol. Also: Now that you have the chest piece, you'll need to make Tassets (a belt of segmented plates that protect the thighs and groin), and Pauldrons (Shoulder armor that laces into the strap at the top of the chest piece). And don't forget the Gorget!
Congrats on the sponsorship. Tis a historical day for SkillTree!
It IS. So long coming lol
Damn right it is !! I was so much happier to hear about that long deserved sponsorship than an hour ago when my boss told my I could leave early... bit uncanny
Hey I know what you should do with those little "stars" that were left.. give them to me please!! @@SkillTree
Now that you mention the hair, you honestly look way cooler with the silver streaks. You're totally working it, and it's totally working for you man.
Agreed.
Here here!
I agree! It's such an awesome character-like look. The shirt he's wearing in this video makes him look like an fun OC someone designed!
I’ve watched for awhile and it gave me a genuine smile to hear about your sponsorship. Congratulations!!! And it’s a great looking project. Cheers to your continued success. 😀
Thank you SO MUCH!!! Been a long but amazing road. Thanks for being here😁
I came here to say the same thing. I got excited like i got the sponsorship 😂
Grinning ear to ear over here too!

Those triangle leather clippings you have left over could be used to fill a beanbag or cushion. I wouldn't mind seeing a medieval pillow build, like the pillow-chairs people used to have around the dinner table in the old days
Huh. Dunno if I'd want to lay on top of something stuffed with leather triangles. They'd be stiff and pokey. Ouch. I'd almost want to dye them different colours and use them as tesserae--little tiles--and form patterns with the colours.
I had a full-on 'omg it's happening!' moment when you announced that Tandy is finally a sponsor. Congratulations! It's been a long time coming and very well deserved.
nice build. Very sensible to reference actual historical armour for functional shapes, cut and sizes too. People today sometimes forget it was very expensive safety equipment for very rich men who wanted to survive mortal combat, so needed to work well, keep them alive and look great too.
Why thank you, Sir Kingsley! It was actually a lot of fun to parse out how to design it in a way that would be comfortable and feel as though the shape would be functional. Thank you for watching!
@@SkillTree you just had your armor build praised by _an actual knight._
Looks like Cl3ver is all grown up.
*[Wipes away happy tear]*
Congrats to the Tandy-sponsorship! A long time in the making 🍻
Congrats to the winners! Great pieces ❤
The scale armor is gorgeous ❤
congrats on the Tandy sponsor! the armor looks so well done! super cool
I literally squealed in joy with this sponsorship! So, so happy for you! Also, Cl3ver, darling, you are like whine, aging so finely. The silver hair suits you well.
You actualy use the same ducktape patern method to make turn shoes. Which you should totally do as a future project! I made some recently and love them, but I'd love to see what you come up with! they could also be a nice addition to your LARP kit.
Congratulations on Tandy finally recognizing your genius.
Congratulations to the Level Up LARP winners.
Another great episode, I love when you re address a project and everyone gets to see how far you have come in your skills. It’s a win for all of us.
Another option to back the scales I think would be a good sturdy canvas. If you need it to be a bit lighter, more breathable, or supple it could be something to consider.
You using your wing divider instead of measuring between each rivet is actually historically accurate. If you look at historical armor pieces you will notice that not every line is straight or every rivets perfectly spaced.
For the triangle leather scraps, I wonder if you could put a slit in the bottom and combine two of them, give them a nice metallic paint job. LARP Caltrops?
that was my exact thought as well. prop barbed wire is made of leather, so I bet it would look really good with a proper coat of paint.
OOOOOOH! I love this idea!
I love Tandy...there no better place for anything Leather. Lord knows we all spend good money there for all our fun projects. Thanks Tandy!
I love this channel. It's intimidating to try some of these projects, but the enthusiasm and charm of the presentation makes it seem possible. Keep it up!
100% possible. I believe in you. Go forth and be AMAZING!
Looks great, can’t wait to see what your kit looks like with all the recent additions! You’ll have to make an armor stand to display it in all it’s glory!
Or just wear it 24/7🤣🤣
You can add spaulders/pauldrons by putting a buckle and loop on the underside, allowing them to attach to the shoulder strap of the cuirass. Alternatively, add a buckle to the cuirass shoulder strap and a tongue to the pauldron. Either way put an adjustable loop at the lower end of the pauldron to keep it centered on the arm.
Congrats on the sponsorship, it's very well earned at this point!
About those triangle leather clippings, maybe you can thread them on a piece of string. Either overlapping or with knots in between so they're wider spaced, you could even dye them differently and have a nice spot of colour on your outfit. I see those as tassels on a sword hilt or a good luck charm the character once received on their belt etc. Or put initials on each and keep it as a list for revenge of all the people that wronged them xD
Congrats on the long-awaited but ultimately inevitable sponsorship! Totally going to Tandy once I'm ready to start making MY leather armor.
Instead of dry erase, a Wet Erase marker might be the perfect middle between a sharpie and a dry erase marker. It won't smudge while you handle the form but it can be erased with a damp paper towel/rag really easily!
Just saying Tandy, this channel has sent me to your store more times than I can count! So glad you're a sponsor now
About time with Tandy! And congratulations to the winner!
Hey FIIIIISH!
I am so happy you finally got Tandy on your team :D You worked hard for it, well earned!
This looked amazing and congrats on your sponsorship! It’s about time! I’ve actually got into leather crafting because of you!
I almost never apply dye over dye, however, in this application I think it works. At least on camera, it's a pretty subtle way of tying the two colors together. The black is still black, but it has a slight green tint to it. I'm sure it's different in person, but at least on camera I like the effect.
I love that you made a mock-up. I'm a dressmaker and learned the hard way that you should always make a mock-up 😆
Congratulations on the Tandy sponsorship!
Holy shit! Tandy sponsorship! Congrats man. I’ve been watching you for so long and it’s great to see this finally com together.
Finally I can buy stuff from Tandy ! I was waiting until they became a Sponsor.
This looks absolutely incredible! The difference in style between the two is striking. This new one looks like something straight out of a D&D book!
So cool to finally see the Tandy sponsor! You were the one that got me into leather working and crafting in general, so it's a wonderful development. Things have come full circle since the first project!
It's about time Tandy sponsored you, your videos are the only reason I found them.
This came out at the perfect time its a half day and i needed something for the bus
Awesome video! For the small extra triangle bits from the scale punch, you might be able to attach groups of two or three of them together for LARP-friendly caltrops?
I like that you talk about the mistakes you make. My grandpa is a woodworker and he makes very high quality furniture and he once told me that what makes a good craftsman isn’t being so skilled you never make mistakes it’s learning how to fix your mistakes. Wise words that can be applied to just about anything in life
I just started watching your leather videos and actually trying some projects myself and hearing that yall hot sponsored finally was insanely awesome! Talk about a level up!
I was so excited to see the email from Tandy 😂. I hope you share what you make! I would love to see!
Grats on the Tandy sponsorship! So cool!
Finally a Tandys Sponsorship, that only took way too long. Congratulations on your success, present and future
Congratulations on the sponsorship and the soon to come 100K Subs!!! Going to be a huge day very soon and I couldn't be happier for you all. Keep up the amazing work and superior content.
Armor bite is a real thing. Gets worse when you're dealing with metal.
Congratulations on the Tandy sponsorship!
You know, I'll bet that you could make scale mail this way too, hanging your underarmour on your golem and then using warbla and a heat gun to curve the scales into the proper shape before attaching them with leather grommets. The grommets would be hidden by the scale layered above it.
Warbla is amazing stuff! Great idea!
One of the winners is my friend! I met her at a larp last year. Congrats to everyone!
Grats on FINALLY getting that Tandy sponsor! Truly has been a long time coming
I hadn’t watched this one until after the coin episode. AWESOME but my wife went to Tandy today (never heard of it before you) she told them and they told us about your sponsorship. CONGRATS.
Fantastic to hear Tandy is on board
You deserve the support of a Big Company.
CONGRATULATIONS on the Tandy sponsorship!! Thank you for all you do.
1:15 “this right here”
Lol. 😂
Omg the tandy sponsorship finally!!!
CONGRATS, I know I am a little late on this, but for the TANDY SPONSORSHIP!!! You absolutely deserve it my guy!
1:13 "Came up with this right here" *gestures*
Me: *GASP* ARMOR OF INVISIBILITY!?!?!?!
XD
Lol. It is an "emperor's new clothes" situation. Do you NOT see it?
When you said you got your sponsorship from Tandy leather I cheered! I'm so happy they sponsored you - your enthusiasm is contagious and I've learned so much from watching you. I've been going back and watching your early videos.
As a broke person, I'm still looking for leather working tools in my price range (free is what I can afford) so I've yet to tackle any leather working projects but I've got some I really want to start and it is thanks to your trying new things and showing what you've done that is making me want to do this.
Thank you for the videos! Love your work!
Amazing! What a fun piece.
That armor is SWEET! It's clear how much you've learned since making your first piece of armor. :D
Only been here a year but I’m over the moon that you got the Tandy sponsorship finally!!! I can’t wait to see where this takes the fam
That looks Fantastic! awesome armor
Been looking forward to this one! It looks amazing! Now I need to make some...
Woo Hoo congrats on the sponsorship Cl3ver!!! Tandy finally did it!!!
very bitter sweet moment that the running gag of "hey Tandy please sponsor us!" is over but digressions aside that armor looks AMAZING! and i'm super jealous that i dont have the space to do leather work yet
Amazingly awesome
Great work, your skills have taken off!
WOW! really nice project! so much learning!
Almost 100k. Congratulations you guys! Your art and DIYs are inspiring. Teaching us we can just jump into shir 😊
This armour looks so cool
Beautiful project
Just getting in to this hobby, and this video is fantastic! Thanks so much!
Congrats on the tandy sponsorship, and being the only youtuber who made me visit their sponsor, though ironically before they were your sponsor.
Thanks to you, I started leatherworking and it's become one of my absolute favourite things to do
Congratulations to the well-deserved winners! And I'm 100% stealing the craft foam technique when I get around to making my own armor.
👍👍👍👍👍This is a very interesting flow!!!! I really liked the scales.
Woohoo!!! Congrats on finally getting that Tandy sponsorship!!!
Those triangle pieces would look great on a dragon egg or dice bag.
Congratulations to all the winners, especially Melissa Matos, who I got to know when I briefly lived in PA!
Lovely work, and congrats on the sponsorship!
omg!! im so glad you finally got your sponsorship!!! i've been waiting since i found your channel!!! this is so cool!! i love the new armour!!
Congrats on the sponsorship! the armour looks great 💚
yay!!! congrats on the sponsorship!!!
Awesome work!! Another great video.
Congrats on Tandy sponsorship.
Welcome Tandy! Skill Tree got me buying from you a while ago and looking forward to seeing more!
So cool seeing how you've improved and learned with the same project you've definitely leveled up
That was an awesome build. Congratulations on the Tandy sponsorship!
For tiny leather scraps, you could cut them down a bit more and use them with the hole punches and bevel off cuts in stuffing for little stuffed items, like a doll a character would make for one of the kids always hanging around, or little magical crafting poppets, or even just some cushions to keep with the tent. The triangles would also look cool as some kind of teeth!
Hooray for Tandy sponsorship!! So happy for you!
This was great! So glad for the sponsorship!
Hell, yeah finely Tandy. Congratulations on the sponsorship.
Yay! I'm so happy Tandy (finally) sponsored you!
Great job
It's beautiful I really like it . Congreats for te sponsorship 🎉
For the little triangles, a good use would be to sew them into little flower shapes as decoration, or use as candle holders, to give a barbaric, yet beautiful desert flower feel.
I can't believe CZcams dropped my notifications for you on the first episode Tandy actually sponsored! I gasped so dramatically when you said that!
Looks good, im trying to get into LARP and Ren Faires, and you've been a driving inspiration
Those scales turned out incredible with that combo of antiquing and brushing
Congrats to the winners. And, a super loud HAZZAH!! To you and the channel on the sponsorship. You've done some great work.
Oh and ... the cuirass looks fantastic. (Although, the articulated midsection of the old one would have been an epic addition to the new one)
Congrats on the sponsorship!! Well deserved and a long time coming!
Mate, been watchin for years bout time you got that sponsorship. Congrats! Love your vids.
This is something that's been on my project list for a bit, like two decades. Like you, I once dreamed of scale armor when I was young and impressionable.
Congrats on getting that sponsor from Tandy! And this looks fantastic. Definitely have me a greater idea on a chest plate. Thanks so much!
You got the sponsership! from tandy! congrats man! and great weathering tip with the steel wool *puts that in my pocket*
Congratulations on the Sponsorship! Well earned and deserved!
Its Fantastic that you got the attention of Tandy! Congratulations! I've been a fan since you had like 6K followers, you had made a stamp for Simon W.
Seriously great news mate!
Congrats on finally getting the tandy sponsorship you have been working for it too long and an amazing build as always
