y’all, pickpocketing is terrible in barcelona… be wary of your phone and belongings when sitting at restaurants and cafes, especially when random people come up to you to “talk” to you.. most likely a distraction to steal your phone…. also instead of uber, use cabify… similar concept for barcelona! perfect for coming home from the bars or getting to the airport!
thanks for this detailed video

This is really a good channel! Very informative! I’m going to Barcelona in early May. Will be my 6th visit, I just love this city. The last time I was there me and my wife rented electric bikes. It is a really nice experience to bike around the city!
Thanks for the tips! My husband and I are going together for the first to Barcelona. He was there about 20 yrs ago, but things change! Good to know Fall is still decent as far as weather is concerned.
Youre welcome Necole! Enjoy

Thank you so much for sharing this great video about traveling to Barcelona! These practical tips will undoubtedly help first-time travelers planning a trip to this beautiful city to better prepare their itinerary. I'm also very excited to see what kind of different Europe I'll encounter while traveling by AVE! My friend taught me how I can get cheap train tickets, so this trip will no longer be by plane but by rail ~ looking forward to my European rail trip!
Coming here in a month & staying for a month, can’t wait

I cannot thank you enough for this video. I have watched plenty of Barcelona vlogs and videos but the people do not seem that updated or enthusiastic about the city. This has been so helpful to me. I want to come with my dog soon and it would be amazing if you made a video about dog friendly spots, beaches and other things. I have a friend who lives there and he said Barcelona is like London where they allow dogs on transport, in stores etc and I was so pleasantly surprised and happy - it's actually the main reason I am going to come there LOL Thanks again! Gracias!
Thank you very much for sharing that?
I appreciate this information. I was in Berlin and paris i July and booked Barcelona for October. I find not looking like tourist helps. Walk like you know where you are going . Securing your valuables is a practice to use no matter where you travel. Thank you
Thanks Lee! Yes, keeping track of belongings is a must. That’s great you’re coming in October!
This! I never carry a backpack cus that screams tourist to me and I wear a crossbody bag under my top that just pokes out the bottom in front of my stomach that has proper metal buckles that takes them me to undo. I think because of this I never had an issue in Barcelona
Glad I discovered your content. Planning first European trip in 2025.
This is fantastic information. I just got back from Barcelona. I was with my wife and kids so the mindset and itinerary was slightly different. The people there are kind and friendly…
PLEASE don't visit S-PAIN, They're people torture and kill bulls just for... fun .Please don't put YOUR money into a country that loves animal abuse
Hi! I'm going next month mid February for 1 week. A lot of things seem to be closed during winter. Any tips to entertain the kiddo's (12 and 10 yo) 5 days? :)
@dotnout Hey! What are you referring to as being closed? Have you watch the February and the Winter in Barcelona videos??
Will be there in November!
Alright!
Thanks for this - I will be in Barcelona late May. Have to say the biggest challenge for me is narrowing things down because there are just so many things happening. I have been pretty good at planning things without losing sight of what kind of things I want to get out of this trip. I am someone who doesn't want to rush things and take things slowly, but this Barcelona trip planning feels like a huge challenge due to FOMO creeping out.
Don’t let FOMO get you! You can’t see everything and that’s okay
Ive lived in Barcelona for 15 years this is a good video. I would say you might be a little bit down playing how safe the city can be especially at night near clubs.
Thanks Adam! I think nighttime club safety is a different story from visiting sites during the day. What would you say?
Barcelona is considered widely to have one of the highest rates of pickpocket and thieving incidents. I think I have seen stats to support this but as I can't find them, I'll say considered. The amount of theft is genuinely unbelievable I don't have any friends that have lived here for any amount of time that don't have multiple first hand stories. When "Safe" was stated, I was genuinely waiting for the punch line
@@zackyboy678 We must fight back as a people. Nobody else is going to do it.
I've subscribed & am enjoying all your videos. My husband & I are looking forward to Barcelona in mid-Apr (his 1st, my 1st in 50 years). I'm thinking of HQing in Sitges and day trips to Barcelona & other places then returning for a relaxing evening along the beach. Make sense at all?
Keep those wonderful videos coming!
Makes sense and a possibility, yes. Only a 45 minute train ride
Fingers x'd I might get to enjoy your informative take on staying in Sitges one day soon...Cheers,

Thanks
Of course!
Hola Patrick!
Que bueno encontrarte por aquí! Excelente video!
I just subscribed. Great video with important information and I really like the way you kept it moving.
Is it safe to go down Las Ramblas at night? Is it safe to ride the Metro or public transportation at night?
Thanks again! It is safe, but you need to be careful with belongings
I just got back and stayed in Las Ramblas. It was very safe and the Metro was completely safe at night. Barcelona Metro has a great app and you can preplan your trip route so you don’t get off at the wrong stop.
Short but straight to the point. You have earned another sub. What's your take on visiting Barcelona in December ?
Appreciate it! December is colder but filled with Christmas spirit! I’ll have my December guide out later this year
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona looking forward to it. And many thanks for your speedy reply. I was planning to go to Barcelona for my first solo trip will be checking out your videos for tips
Local here, it’s a nice date especially during night since the Christmas lights are on, it’s not as crowded as usual except for the usual christmas days, and mostly filled with locals having a nice time with families
Thank you so much for sharing this video :)...can u recommend me the best places to sleep?
You’re welcome. Will have to get a new video ready. But it depends on what you are looking for

The summer time in Barcelona is the month of August. The winter begin in September. When I was there the only month that is not cold is the summer time. But now it change because of climate change.
Hey Patrick. What do you reckon the temperature is like in November? Not sure if i should be bringing shorts or pants; and if it's still worth going to Spain in November.
November is when its starts to get cold, id definitely be wearing pants, but I would also Google that info so you can see the exact degrees
Im Used to it beacuse i am in evrope
Nice video..
Do we get Salou to Barcelona train and how much that cost , we are planning to visit Barcelona from salou for one day for our 5 day trip in salou.
Thanks
🫡Thank you!!
I would just apply the same common sense / awareness around security as I would in any large city around the world, be it London, Rome or Cairo. As for trying not to look like a tourist in Barcelona that’s impossible for us with our milk-bottle white skins and ‘holiday clothes’ 😄
👍🏼👍🏼
Going to Spain and Portugal 15 day tour late August into September. Looking forward to the trip, first time in Spain and Portugal. Not big fan of seafood, will I have any difficulty finding places to eat offering beef, pizza, hamburgers, etc.? I will try some of the Spanish and Portuguese cuisine.
Not at all
Heya, regarding the tickets, what websites should I use? Also is there a discount for students?
Official sites. You can also download my guide and use the links there. Usually there is a discount for students, yes
Patrick will be there in a few weeks... April, weather (sweatshirt like jacket & jeans?) and do you rec guides for the various places to see or will be be good with just admission? Is admission an option or only tours?

Hi Patrick,
Me and my girlfriend are comming in June to Barselona and after that to Valencia in thah same trip. What are the 2-3 beaches that are best around these two towns? Usually the city beaches are not so spectacular so we can stay near the town for two nights if there is a better beacher that is great
From Barcelona going south to Sitges gives you nice beaches. But realistically the north (Costa Brava) is gonna give you the best beaches or water.
I am coming at 12th of August 😀
Ole 👏🏼
Is it a good idea to visit spain during easter? I heard it can get very busy.
It’s one of the biggest holidays, yes. It is very busy. Busier at the second half of the week, especially with domestic trips.
I'm planning on going to Spain later in the year. I had in mind to go to Madrid, Seville and Barcelona. It would only be for 10 days. Was looking at 3 days each in Madrid and Seville and then 4 days in Barcelona. What are you thoughts? Should I do 3 places or should I do 2 and spend more time in Barcelona? Thanks in advance! And thanks for the tips!
I’m going to Madrid and Barcelona for 7 days in like a week. If you want, I could report to you 😊

Hello Patrick, nice video! In minute 7 you say that Montserrat its the highest point in Catalonia. From a local, if It is what you said, its false. I live near Montseny, that its higher, and part of the Pirineus are Catalan/Spanish, so its even taller. No worries, if I was wrong pls correct me. Good day!
No no, I meant in central Catalonia. Good catch! Thank you

You can either download sections or entire cities in Google maps or buy a prepaid SIM card once you arrive
Is it recommended to wear your regular jewelry in public or no? Like rings
I’m going in late September-mid October. Is the weather still going to be good for the beaches?

You’re welcome Anabel. Unfortunately, I am no sure cost. I think it would depend on a lot of variables.
I'll be in Barcelona around September 20. Do you think I should still reserve tickets for the sites ahead of time?
You won’t need to do it super far out but I always recommend reserving so you can get the time you want.
