- Hello everyone!
I'm back (🥳) with a really common mechanism: the clutch. There is a compact Lego version, but that never stopped me from designing lots of custom versions to find a use for :)
Enjoy watching,

You're back. How was your Sabbatical?
I'm happy to see your new videos.
Nice video, very practical fpr us who can't get ahold of those fancy synchro pieces!
I was about to go yapping about how you ised the word clutch for the gearbox-like mechanisms in the video but thankfully I watxhed to the end first. I see you do know what a clutch is, I would've been pretty embarrassed to give a lecture and then find out at the end of the video that I was wrong.
Anyways yeah most of the designs you showed are really similar to the meshing and unmeshing designs used in archaic automobile gearboxes, amd sometimes the mesh-unmesh design is still used in reverse gears. But a clutch is meant to disengage the power to the gearbox so that shifting can occur, since as you noted, those mechanisms wouldn't work too well while turning under force. :)
Anyways again good job
Yeah, again that's a point where I sacrificed terminology to have a way to put these mechanisms in a single video :)
The original Lego part is often referred to as a "clutch", so I went with that, but yeah, that's not really correct.

Can you combine your five more ways to steer a car video with your five types of suspension video to make a have suspension car without a servo
Done with locking in eh
arrent those gearboxes and not clutches?
Depends on the generality of the definition, but yeah, I'm stretching the definition a bit
@@in1 ah in that case great job
those aren't cluches they are transmissions and differentials
