    Love your videos, what I think you convey much better than other reviewers is your sense of passion for the cars. You're genuinely excited in all the cars you review and especially while driving them (just how I would be!), which gives the viewer a much better sense of actually being there too. Keep it up!

      Hey Nick, I'm driving coast to coast soon. I'll be Airbnb hopping and doing track days along the way. I need a car that stows a decent amount of stuff, is fun on track, and doesn't have a punishing suspension on long road trips. Can I do better than a $50k, under warranty, used GT350? Can't be a late model BMW M3/M4 - I've already had that experience. Cheers!

      The GT350s are everywhere for $58K to $62K right now. Do a quick search. The huge dealer markups are really only on the GT350R's now. I think Ford made like 5000 GT350s last year so there are plenty.

      @bbjjyy112233 Před 5 lety +1

      AMAZING!!! All the videos, (and there are hundreds), don’t even do the car justice. Ford really hit the nail on the head with this one! It’s just one of those sports cars that does EVERYTHING perfectly! After test driving same day the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, Camaro ZL1 and Mustang GT350, I came to this conclusion: Buying a sports car is an emotional experience, so you have to go with the one that “speaks to you” the most. My experience was that the Hellcat was superior when going really fast in a straight line, but lacked when cornering. The ZL1 was superior when cornering, and handled well overall, but was too “punchy” when accelerating. The rear tires would do a slight burnout when accelerating from a complete stop. However the GT350 handled well when cornering, was fast in a straight line, and accelerated from a complete stop without doing a slight burnout. Well, at least most of the time(;
      Thanks for asking. As I said, that was MY experience that lead up to me purchasing my GT350, but remember to buy the car that “speaks to YOU” the most. Who knows, it could even be the new 2020 Ford Mustang GT500 this Fall!!! That exotic dual clutch sounds pretty sweet!!

    • @coureurdebois
      @coureurdebois Před 8 lety +22

      sure it will be crazy powerful, but if its anything like the last GT500 it wont be "nuts" if they make it a pure straight line car it will simply be destroyed by the ZL1 which has both power and it has handling levels better than the GT350R / Z/28. i just pray ford makes the GT500 handle better than the GT350 and gives it more power to make it competitive.

    Great review Matt! The voodoo engine reminds me of the S65 V8 from the BMW M3 and the 4.2 FSI V8 from the R8/RS4/RS5 - all v8s that rev over 8250rpm, except the german V8s use crossplane crank unlike the voodoo. I hope the voodoo will be available to be purchased as a crate engine. I'd love to fit it in a 'sleeper' looking 86/BRZ haha

      I think they're about equal, they're both very very close as far as fun factor goes. With the Shelby it's all grip and that insane engine and sound, in the F-Type it's tail happy craziness, awesome sounds and backfires. A slightly different delivery of fun in each but both are fantastic fun either way. For the money, the Shelby definitely delivers more fun per dollar than the F-Type I think.

    2 Quick questions that I think people would value your opinion on:
    1.Would you recommend a base GT350 over a base stingray?
    2. Is the base GT350 as enjoyable or even more enjoyable than the Jaguar F Type R that you loved?
    A base GT350 is on my radar but I'm talking myself into a used base stingray personally. Wondering if it'd be a mistake. Thanks bro, keep up the great videos.

    • @theunknown4772
      @theunknown4772 Před 8 lety

      That is a very hard question given the fact both have great handling...

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  Před 8 lety +24

      1. If you're looking for grip then the GT350 is the one to pick for sure. But a base stingray interior has a lot more features too. The stingray feels lighter and more "tossable" but doesn't give you the confidence in corners that the heavier but more surefooted GT350 does. Personally, I value things in different ways than other enthusiasts. Things like side curtain airbags are important to me and the Shelby has them, the Corvette does not, so it excludes the Stingray from even being a consideration for me personally. Even if I didn't care about that though, I still think I'd pick a 2017 GT350 with the $3,000 electronics package for 60k and would enjoy it much more than a 60k stingray. But that's just my preference and I'm a huge mustang fan so take it with a grain of salt but I'd recommend the Shelby haha.
      2. I think they're about equal, they're both very very close as far as fun factor goes. With the Shelby it's all grip and that insane engine and sound, in the F-Type it's tail happy craziness, awesome sounds and backfires. A slightly different delivery of fun in each but both are fantastic fun either way.

      Thanks for the detailed response! definitely provides the insight I was looking for. I've never seen you quite as hyped up during the acceleration runs as you were in this video, so maybe I just need to go experience 6K+ rpms in a Shelby.

    • @amiller2121

      I have not driven the GT350 but my choice would be the C7. It just feels more special (other than the exhaust note). The Vette is a real sports car where you sit nice and low. I do respect the hell out of the GT350 though.

    Beautiful exterior and amazing engine/exhaust note but that poor interior. Typical ford fugly unfortunately. Had the new mustangs taken a few pointers from the Germans and made a slightly classier interior I'd be trading my s5 in right now.

      To be honest though, the interior does look better when you have the tech package with the 7 inch touch screen. Considering the price of the gt350, i think the interior is fine. If you want to see a great Ford interior, take a look at some pics of the new Ford GT.

I couldn't tell much of a difference between sport mode and normal other than the kind of rough down shift as you come to a stop followed by that glorious rumble of the V8!! Awesome review of your GT and the GT350 Matt!!
