Hi i been using WD media player for years the thing is with the latest WD TV Live (3rd Gen) do not recognize any hard drive more then 2TB so if i hook up hard drive docker with 3 ore 4 TD hard drive in to this box i will be able to play my movies and files?

As for the device, I would never pay more than $100 for that! I was enjoying the review and looking what you had to say about it. My jaw dropped when you mentioned price.
I have a Roku 3 and love it. I think I paid $100 for it. Didn't seem any better than that?
A big difference with this box vs a Roku,Apple TV, Fire TV etc. is the pre-loading of streaming services allowing you to watch movies and tv series many in HD for FREE!. Very quickly it will pay for itself.
Can you play games on your Roku? Free TV and Movies? Android Apps? Browser and Email? Can it play 4K? Can it connect to an external HD? Play a slideshow of your pictures form a USB Drive?
All of these reasons are why this is superior to a Roku box.

Supersaf you mentioned it streams 4K. I have a 4K (Samsung) but it wont pickup Netflix as the model is almost a year old. Will connecting this to Netflix enable to me to view it on 4K from the app provided on the box?

Update: I did get one and have NO regrets. I replaced my Raspberry Pi and observed a considerable improvement in terms of speed and quality of response. What really impressed me was the way that it handed .ISO files. It was completely flawless in terms of performance. But if you're going to use it to watch Netflix, you will be GREATLY disappointed. The images are unwatchable. I contacted SkyStream support about this and their response was as follows: "In regards to Netflix, until they officially regard our device as an Official Set Top Box, the images will not be in high resolution. That's why we install XBMC, Showbox, Videomix and other great apps which blow Netflix and its limited content away anyways. ". But again, I have NO regrets with this purchase.
Can I get rid of my cable service and still watch live tv/local news with this devise or keep at least basic cable?

Can you change the home screen UI/theme? Personally I think it looks horrible.
Does it have Bluetooth as the one I got from Geekbuying has it for $95 all loaded. Did you try that one it only $95
As far as I can see this is just an rebranded Amlogic S802 also known as M8 (priced at 80$ and up). So buying it only makes sense for US citizens, since they don't need to import it. All other could purchase it directly from the chinese sellers and save money.

This is the exact same thing like the M8 TV BOX but more expensive. Same specs, same rom probably, same preinstalled apps, why would I spend that much money on this one?
Hi i purchase one. One Problem when i turn it off with remote the blue light don't turn off unless i turn off the power cable off. Is this happens with your device also or i got the defective one.
My box did the same. I just waited 10-20 mins. and eventually it went off.

Saf I have a question. I watched a video where a guy said it's important that you run a speed test for downloading & buffering reasons. In the video his speed was up to about 22,000 to 23,000 uploading & downloading. I'm running 100 megs here at my house & my speed test wasn't anywhere near 22,000. How many megs would I need to even get up to 10,000 for the speed test? Please get back in touch with me about this. Thanks man.
There could be various reasons for this!
1) depending on the technology your ISP uses, you might not have consistantly 100mbits!
Try doing a speedtests at different times of the day!
2) maybe there is a problem with your LAN, this includes wifi signal strength, your router, ethernet cables etc
Did you do your speedtest while you were on wifi or ethernet?
What was the result of your speedtest?

Without a doubt the best device is the Amazon Fire TV. The support and development is much better than any device on the market..if you notice many of these devices are literally the same design, just re-packaged..go with the Amazon fire..everything about it works superior..much more refined..take it from someone who owned the skystream x4, minix, Apple TV...Amazon fire blows all of them out of the water..some vendors on eBay will side load xbmc, and it will still be cheaper than any of the above mentioned devices..or do it yourself and save $

It's a m8 with another name on case but exact everything.
I just got one of these, and so far, the shit doesn't work correctly. I have about 100mbps i have through comcast. tested connections on my computer, and i get 26ms ping, 115.35Mbps download, and 11.6mbps upload (average of 3 tests in 1 hour.) tested the wifi on the skystream box (not even 12ft away from my router, which is a night hawk through netgear.) i get 32ping, 1126KBPS!!!, and 1680 upload.. so i know its not my service provider, its either got to be the wifi card or w/e is in the box, cus its either shit, or its not working correctly. AND I would love to try and get in contact with someone from skytream, BUT they're support never answers, and they're open from 9-5 eastern, closed on weekends. been trying since friday to get in contact with them. so far, not happy with this thing.
bought this based on this and other reviews like it big mistake .This is very slow unit and no refund offer because of they blame it on the apps .

Yes it dose. You can watch any hockey game that's going on in the world as long as you know what time it airs. That goes with any sport. NHL, NFL, MBA whatever sport you want. When you open the app you just have to search around to see which link works. It's not HD it's SD if not close to SD but very watchable.
