FP-30 looks bigger in this vid than IRL, so the FP-10 is about as small as it gets for an 88-key digital piano, FP-10 is PERFECT for a workstation of anyone who wants a real
piano feel but has limited space, or anyone else without a lot of room and wants a full 88-key with real piano feel and/or is on a tight budget, if you have the room/space and can afford the wood-type stand and pedal attachment along with the extra cost, get the FP-30, not worth paying any more for a digital piano imo, you're basically paying big cash for gimmicks and furniture past the FP-30's price point
I strongly disagree, those pricier pianos make FP30 sound more digital by comparison.
But for great sound and reasonable portability/size, FP30 rocks.
Looking back over this after Jack's passing sad lament "I love Roland, you know I love Remie, even though she's left us *cries*" in recent 808 shootout video... there will always be this exchange in this video...
Jack: "But no awkward accompaniment to go along?"

Great vid. And I won't comment on the obvious because everyone's done it for me ;D This looks like the best piano controller out there and I can easily justify the price. The only thing stopping me is it's height. Too tall to fit on my studio desk keyboard drawer.

I bought the FP10 is it is truly amazing for the price point. It blows my Clavinova away! What I notice though is that it seems to sound better than the original FP30 and closer to the FP30X sound engine. Is that the case?

Is there a loss in sound quality using the headphone outpost for external speakers? Or any other issues?
Not at all, I have the FP10 and the headphone socket connected as a line out to an amp is very low noise and excellent quality. Best piano sound I've played even compared to my Yamaha Genos, Clavinova, MODX and Integra 7!
Forgot to add - you can switch off the internal speakers either manually or via the headphone jack, so it is possible to have both on. Also Jack didn't mention it but using the Roland app you can access all of the extra voices of the original FP30 on the FP10!
her hair changes every episode. I enjoy these videos as I am not a piano player but I want one so bad to learn. I liked the weighted keys and the fact that it connects to an iPad is amazing. Im sure I will be pulling the trigger soon. That and a Moog One but money ain't a thang.

From the vid the FP10 looks much smaller than the 30, the physical dimension is listed about the same at 128cm(w) x 26cm(d) x 14cm(h) vs 130cm(w) x 28cm(d) x 15cm(h)?

Is it possible to plug and use a microphone and will the sound come out the speakers?
Can we attach the three pedal unit separately to the Roland fp10?? I mean first we buy the piano and furniture stand... Then after can we buy the three pedal units and attach it to the stand??
No, there's only a single pedal input but on the plus side it is variable sustain and not just on-off. The furniture stand doesn't have a pedal option as far as I recall for the FP10.
Is the headphone out on the FP-10/30 ok for sending audio to an audio interface? I hear so many opposite opinions on that. I tested this on a Yamaha 45 headphone jack and it works but the sound quality is awful; if you connect it to the aux in instead it sounds good. I love the Roland action and sound, I'm just worried about the lack of line outs . . .
I use FP 10 with a headphone to standard 1/4” adapter to use with external sound system when performing live.
It’s the only drawback I can find, albeit not insurmountable.
Still I’d recommend at least a few back up adapters or a few dedicated instrument cables with the appropriate ends.
I love the key action and slightly brighter tone compared to the FP’s competitors.
Perfectly good enough in terms of sound quality. I tend to wrap the audio cable around the stand though a few times incase it gets tugged, those 3.5mm jack plugs aren't that strong!
So, two people have asked already, but no answer. The FP-30 looks wider, looking at just the keys, not the enclosure. Are the FP-10 keys narrower than normal, or what?
They are the same size, but woth the angle of the camera, fp 30 looks like it has bigger keys because its closer to the camera

Can you connect to a DAW via bluetooth or does that have to be USB?
Yes you can but you might find the bluetooth latency slightly annoying. It's much better than I expected but for best experience I would use USB midi.
Anyone kind enough to tell me what "style" or "type" of piano playing did Jack played in 0:00 until 1:08 ? I wish to learn this type/style of playing. If anyone knows the song too, that'll help!

Why does the FP-10 keybed look so much smaller, if they have the same amount of keys, and it has full sized keys?
I think it's because the FP-10 has its speakers underneath, whereas, the FP-30 has speakers on the sides? Not certain though

Amrsbadwai yes I have the fp10 and the key action is significantly better than the yahmahas and the sound is a little better you can adjust how bright the sound is from the app to make it sound like the yahmaha if you want.

There's not enough of a price difference between the two for the FP-10 to be worth buying, you can get the FP-10 for £422 and the FP-30 for £465, make the FP-10 £350 and it's probably worth it. I see most people going for the FP-30 rather than this, because, what's another £43?
The price difference is quite a bit worse now the fp 10 is s fine choice if all you need is great piano feel and sound quality
can we use this for live performance ? coz the o/p port is 3.5mm only
Of course just use an adaptor or cable to a 3.5mm stereo plug. Use mine into an amp and it sounds amazing, very low noise on the 3.5mm output.
