This is probably pretty obvious, but FRIENDS and many other live 1/2 hour shows do two takes of everything. Then, it's edited and cut with the best takes/audience reactions. I went to two FRIENDS tapings and that was definitely the case both times.
There’s times where you can see crew members walking by, the backdrop in the living room to make it look like they’re outside swaying, monkey trainer in the background, so many!!
The biggest mistake I noticed was that at the beginning Monica interduced Rachel to the others like she has never met anyone before except of Monica and Ross...but on a few of the flashbacks later on the show you see she has met Chandler various of times
I just assume she would've forgot, you know peoples faces change and you can see Monica and Rachel haven't talked in a while considering she wasn't invited to the wedding 😅
I give that up to the pilot gods -- often, some of the plot and characters get shifted around once a show is picked up. Sometimes the pilot is reshot (I remember that scenes from the Desperate Housewives pilot were reshot), but often they are not (on The Cosby Show, Clair was not a lawyer and the family had only four kids). My memory of the first season fails me, but how long did it take for them to flashback to their high school days? If it took a while, then there would be no real reason to reshoot the pilot to include that information.
Regarding Phoebes dress in “the one where no one is ready” they had to shoot the episode weeks apart. They started shooting and when the part comes where Joey jumps in the chair to stop chandler, Matt leblonc dislocated his shoulder. So they had to stop filming and shoot the next episode (where Joey falls off the bed) and they shot the rest of the other episode once Matt’s shoulder healed. Hence why her stain is different sizes.
I was about to say the same thing. It probably fell off and they kept filming anyway because they were being professional and not letting that take them off line.
Weirdly enough the first thing I noticed on my own is that Rachel goes from telling Danny/Yeti that she doesn’t sail but supports it to being a pro sailor that teaches Joey lol
8:25 In the reunion episode they revealed that in the one where no one is ready, actor Matt LeBlanc actually dislocated his arm while jumping on the chair when chandler dresses and comes back to take the chair from joey. So they had to reshoot the rest of the episode after matt recovered from his injury. This also explains why he is wearing a cast in the later episode which was included in the story line as joey getting hurt by jumping on the bed.

Also I want to say, I think the mistake sphenoid Rachel’s necklace was on and then off, you could see, when the necklace is off, it’s on the plate under the cup, this makes me think it kept falling off, ok goodbye
Stuff that was in the edge of shots wouldn't have been seen when the show was in 4:3 format Now it's converted to 16:9 you see stuff you weren't supposed to. That explains 95% of FRIENDS "mistakes"
Came down to say this. I've seen a lot of "mistakes" on the right or left side of the screen. People don't realize that the HD version has an extended horizontal field of view compared to the 4:3 aspect ratio the original had.
In one episode where Ross's engagement ring is missing, and frantically asks the stripper from the bachelor party where it is, you can see Matt Leblanc laughing behind him
Monica puts the sock on her hand was for her trying to open the door , because Rachel locked the door and she was trying to talk to Ross ( by the way , Rachel was absolutely gorgeous with that yellow dress , just amazing )
The mistake that I would have put in was when Matthew Perry messed up his line, but the cast responded in a way that was so in character that they kept the mistake in the show
The scene where Phoebe tells Mike that she changed her last name to Banana Hammock. They are in Central Perk when Mike’s scarf is in a knot, then open, and continues to change back and forth about 6-7 times in a little over a minute.
Probably even longer. They married May 15th, which would make her at least 2 or 3 weeks pregnant for the test to work. And then when she is in diseray of being pregnant for so long, she says it is hot outside, but Emma should have been born in January or February, latest March.
Also before Emma's first birthday, Monica says to Chandler "we've been trying to have a baby for over a year" Well that can't be as they started trying while Rachel was in labour/giving birth to Emma and she doesn't turn one until a few episodes later.
One thing I noticed was the sudden change of character trait of Chandler not being able to cry in S6 E14, and the opposite was depicted in S7 E9. There are some more such things I've noticed but forgotten, but apparently this makes me to appreciate this show even more. The mentioned "mistakes" here aren't that noticeable (sudden changes in character traits can be noticeable without pausing the scenes and looking for mistakes). Apart from having these errors, I am intrigued by the fantastic dialogue delivery and the entire dynamic nature of the script, that I completely neglect the mentioned errors everytime. I still feel that this is one of the greatest shows I have ever seen (you just know you'll stil laugh at the same scene again...its just amazing...even after watching the entire show more than 10 times).

The one with jenifer Aniston “stand in” how can u even tell. They even said they were wearing different shirts. No and hoe could they get their hair perfectly matching even with the messy hair up too
The stand-ins are so weird. When the Gellers have their 35th wedding anniversary party, Jack has a stand-in as well. You can see it, because of widescreen. Same with the episode where Chandler finds the tape with Monica on it in Richard's apartment. When he and Joey watch it, you can see a matress on the floor on the left where they're about to land. Monica is also wearing knee pads.
Phoebe had a very inconsistent backstory too. Did her father run out on her before she was born, or did he raise her for several years before leaving? She can't seem to make her mind up! She has told different versions of that story. She also forgot about most of her family when she got married. She had - by that point - a father, a mother, a brother, a sister, a sister-in-law and three nieces and nephews who she had actually given birth to. Not a single one of them attended the wedding or was even mentioned. Also, before adopting their baby, Chandler and Monica looked very closely at the scan (sonogram) picture of "the baby". That seemed to be forgotten about when the biological mother gave birth and it turned out to be TWINS! I remember watching it that doors would magically close and re-open, and that Jennifer Aniston's hair was wildly inconsistent. Also, remember Chandler and Monica's engagement night that spanned over two episodes? "Chandler" lost about four stone in weight in a single evening!
In 1x8 chandler was asking everyone if they thought he was gay and Rachael told him ‘she thought he was at first but at phoebes birthday party he couldn’t stop talking to her breast.’ But then towards the end of the show it shows a scene where chandler kisses Rachael when he was in college. They messed uo with a few story’s I think
TOW no ones is ready ( one of the best episodes on the show ) Matt Leblanc really broke his arm during the fight with Chandler , in the next episode the excuse for his arm was that he fell off the bed
I hate that episode (if you can hate any episodes of Friends ;)). I thought they were all extremely annoying and selfish (well, tbh, if you analyse the characters, you'll see that all of them are frequently very selfish, lol). That party was important to Ross and all of them were focused on some petty and childish problems. I know it was all funny, but for me the level of annoyance with them all outweighted the funny side. I usually like the episodes that take place entirely in the apartment and I can understand why people like this one, but if my friends had acted like that in an important for me moment, I would have simply gone to the party alone and told them to go to hell ;).
You can also see the boom multiple times in the earlier seasons Also, in the 10th season, thanksgiving episode, Rachel says she has her old key after Chandler and Monica won't let them in. But the door and locks were changed when C&M went on their honeymoon and took the keys from Joey and Phoebe
I was there for the taping of the engagement one… It was so freaking amazing I still can’t believe I was able to be there at the studio in front of them watching them tape the show it was so exciting!
@@randomuser2574 They filmed in a bunch of different segments and not even in the order that they show it on television… It took about six hours and there was probably around 150 to 200 people in the audience… The Co-producer pulled me out of the audience because they said I resemble Courteney Cox so much,then he had me help him entertain the audience doing stupid games and stuff with him with balloons and stuff, it was really fun and funny… And then when I had to go to the bathroom he had security escort me to the bathroom and tell everyone I was Courteney Cox and I had to the bathroom. It was so funny, what a great cast and crew, they were all so great and the cast of course beyond amazing, we had cake and pizza with them because it was 150th show so that’s why we had the cake and the pizza because we were there for six hours and also we have pop… Soda pop 🥤 they were all grateful that we sat there with them for the six hours and I was able to scream at Matthew Perry to tell him that I loved him and he turned back around and walked up closer to the audience and I was in like the third row and he waved at me and smiled and did his Chandler Bing nod! I got a couple T-shirts some candy and a coffee mug for being such a good sport entertaining the audience! And they still have them all!
To me, these mistakes,I call them easter eggs make the show really special. Also in the 1st episode of season 5 when Emily shows up at the airport for Ross she changes in one very quick glance.
On the scene where Joey and Chandler was unlocking the secret door in Monica's apartment, Joey used air quotes mocking chandler. Later on Ross used air quotes and all of a sudden Joey did not know what air quotes are Joey taught adams apple was named after each individual man, but there was a scene wherein he said he kissed a girl with huge adams apple.
The one with Emma’s beanie may have an explanation. They normally shoot with twins when kids are in the show. They probably had different beanies so that they could tell them apart on set.
Phoebe’s humus stain changed size because they finished this episode long after they started shooting it because Matt Le Blanc dislocated his shoulder when jumping for the chair and they had to end the day early.
Monica also is knocking with her right hand while holding the basket with her left hand when the door is opened, while it was the other way around when the shot was from outside the apt
There's a scene where Joey is talking to some girl in his apartment, and turns around to look at the chick and the duck on the floor in front of his bedroom door. The wall ends about a foot off from the door, showing the fake, shortened wall they utilize to film scenes in the bedroom.
The same thing happens in one of the Thanksgiving episodes where Joey and Ross want to go hang out with the models, Phoebe loves Jacques Cousteau, and Rachel makes a trifle. Check out the scene where Jack, Monica and Ross's Dad, is sitting on the ottoman and they're talking to him; you can see offstage right behind him.
Ross spend 3 full seasons ( 3 , 4 and 5 ) with the same age , and when was Rachel's birthday in the flashback he was with 30 he wasn't with 30 because he wasn't with Rachel anymore
The one I always notice is Joeys shirt stain in the thanksgiving one and he falls over all of the food. They’re two completely different sizes hahahaha!
The one with the stain has different stains because Joey broke his shoulder during filming so the beginning and end of the episode were filmed months apart.
Top ten times Monica was the worst 1. Puts joey in an embarrassing situation during Monica and chandlers secret relationship 2. Being a control freak most of the time 3. When she agreed to bet the apartment 4. She accused her maid of stealing. 5. Severed chandlers toe 6. Tried to get rid of Rachel's new lamp 7. Kissed ross in college 8. Overreact when phoebe prefers Rachel to be her lesbian partner 9. Brags about Mark in front of ross 10. Went out with Richard behind chandlers back (I'm out of ideas to this point)
There is also one instance at the geller’s anniversary celebration, A stand up represents Mr geller in the scene where Ross’s parents tell Rachel and Ross about the fake wedding that they informed the guests.

oh wow i’ve known of the ‘fake’ monica for a while cause i remember reading on this stuff years back but i didn’t know (or atleast i forgot) about the others. didn’t realise there was also a fake rachel lol. the one i was expecting on here was the food stain on joey’s top when he falls on top of the thanksgiving food. one minute it’s there and the next it’s gone lol.
When Mike proposed to Phoebe she had on several rings but then she only has his ring. It goes back and forth a few times. I'm surprised that it's never on any of these videos.

I knew about the apartment numbers and Phoebe's stain, but totally missed the others. That's what happens when you listen to episodes more than you watch them. I also remember seeing a boom mic more than once.
With the Phoebe hummus stain, half the episode was shot and then Matt Le Blanc dislocated his shoulder. They then waited for his arm to be out of the sling before shooting the rest of the episode. So, yes, that's why the stain changes.
The biggest one ? On every scene of the exterior of then building I have not noticed the balcony, or the big window. I hate picking apart the show though because I love it.
The audio recordings are shot with actors' faces to the camera. When the camera needs rear shots (back of head) facing a different actor speaking, the audio is played back so they must mouth their own words as if they're talking continuously. But really it's several different visual shots for one audio.
Let's do a *"Top 10 Times Rachel Actually Wore a Bra on Friends."* *Spoiler Alert:* There were only three episodes throughout all 10 seasons 🙄. (Why did she never wear one?!!)

I just watched Season 3, Episode 4, and noticed in a scene when Chandler is eating ice cream out of a container, the container changes colors from green to purple throughout the scene. It was very obvious.
When Chandler has the break-up with Janice, the girls give him ice cream, but the ice cream gallon keeps changing from green to purple. Drives me crazy every time I see it. :)
Well joey knew the meaning of the air quotes in episode 5 when rachel asks about monica and chandler and he says “they are making love” with the air quote But later in another season ross does the air quote finger sign and he says he don't know the meaning of those 🤷🏻♀️❤️ P.S. Joey is my favourite ❤️❤️❤️ I wish there were infinite seaons of friends 🥺❤️

I thought they were all extremely annoying and selfish (well, tbh, if you analyse the characters, you'll see that all of them are frequently very selfish, lol). That party was important to Ross and all of them were focused on some petty and childish problems. I know it was all funny, but for me the level of annoyance with them all outweighted the funny side. I usually like the episodes that take place entirely in the apartment and I can understand why people like this one, but if my friends had acted like that in an important for me moment, I would have simply gone to the party alone and told them to go to hell ;).
The One Where No One’s Ready is my second favorite episode of all time, I love it so much

I was there for the taping of the engagement one… It was so freaking amazing I still can’t believe I was able to be there at the studio in front of them watching them tape the show it was so exciting!

@@randomuser2574 They filmed in a bunch of different segments and not even in the order that they show it on television… It took about six hours and there was probably around 150 to 200 people in the audience… The Co-producer pulled me out of the audience because they said I resemble Courteney Cox so much,then he had me help him entertain the audience doing stupid games and stuff with him with balloons and stuff, it was really fun and funny… And then when I had to go to the bathroom he had security escort me to the bathroom and tell everyone I was Courteney Cox and I had to the bathroom. It was so funny, what a great cast and crew, they were all so great and the cast of course beyond amazing, we had cake and pizza with them because it was 150th show so that’s why we had the cake and the pizza because we were there for six hours and also we have pop… Soda pop 🥤 they were all grateful that we sat there with them for the six hours and I was able to scream at Matthew Perry to tell him that I loved him and he turned back around and walked up closer to the audience and I was in like the third row and he waved at me and smiled and did his Chandler Bing nod! I got a couple T-shirts some candy and a coffee mug for being such a good sport entertaining the audience! And they still have them all!
To me, these mistakes,I call them easter eggs make the show really special.
Also in the 1st episode of season 5 when Emily shows up at the airport for Ross she changes in one very quick glance.
On the scene where Joey and Chandler was unlocking the secret door in Monica's apartment, Joey used air quotes mocking chandler. Later on Ross used air quotes and all of a sudden Joey did not know what air quotes are
Joey taught adams apple was named after each individual man, but there was a scene wherein he said he kissed a girl with huge adams apple.

The one with Emma’s beanie may have an explanation. They normally shoot with twins when kids are in the show. They probably had different beanies so that they could tell them apart on set.
Phoebe’s humus stain changed size because they finished this episode long after they started shooting it because Matt Le Blanc dislocated his shoulder when jumping for the chair and they had to end the day early.
In the scene with the baby, there is a banner that says, “It’s a boy!” 😂😂

The same thing happens in one of the Thanksgiving episodes where Joey and Ross want to go hang out with the models, Phoebe loves Jacques Cousteau, and Rachel makes a trifle. Check out the scene where Jack, Monica and Ross's Dad, is sitting on the ottoman and they're talking to him; you can see offstage right behind him.

With the Phoebe hummus stain, half the episode was shot and then Matt Le Blanc dislocated his shoulder. They then waited for his arm to be out of the sling before shooting the rest of the episode. So, yes, that's why the stain changes.
The biggest one ? On every scene of the exterior of then building I have not noticed the balcony, or the big window. I hate picking apart the show though because I love it.
Anyone else notice that in a vast majority of sitcoms, the actors are mouthing different words than we hear? Like they got dubbed over.
The audio recordings are shot with actors' faces to the camera. When the camera needs rear shots (back of head) facing a different actor speaking, the audio is played back so they must mouth their own words as if they're talking continuously. But really it's several different visual shots for one audio.

I just watched Season 3, Episode 4, and noticed in a scene when Chandler is eating ice cream out of a container, the container changes colors from green to purple throughout the scene. It was very obvious.
When Chandler has the break-up with Janice, the girls give him ice cream, but the ice cream gallon keeps changing from green to purple. Drives me crazy every time I see it. :)
Well joey knew the meaning of the air quotes in episode 5 when rachel asks about monica and chandler and he says “they are making love” with the air quote
But later in another season ross does the air quote finger sign and he says he don't know the meaning of those 🤷🏻♀️❤️
