This was a beautiful short but that man dog and the noise he makes gave me the creeps. He’s something straight out of nightmares.
Reminds me of Final Fantasy 15 pre-rendered cutscenes.

So, here's what I think...
That is definitely not a dog, as creepy as it seems, that's is a sheep or maybe goat with a man's face. Main evidence is the way it/he sounds, a dog should definitely sound like one, whether or not it can talk.
A griot is a storyteller, hence the title. Turns out the man-sheep is her uncle, (for some reason...).
Now to the creepy ending....it seems like their house got burnt down by the soldier smoking at the very beginning (soldiers don't really move alone), also he looks German, so this should be related to world war II...The fire stain at the very end is a bit of a clue on that...
.Also her and her uncle survived all that because of the narrator's comment about how she was so young and angry and she would soon realize that life is unfair... But it's clear everything went downhill from there...She probably got raped and mistreated a lot, given that she's really pretty...

You think her uncle, the goat, might have raped her when she was really young, and he, metaphorically or not, turned into an unpleasant animal, and now that she's grown up she's trying to make amends for all the time lost between them not talking...?
Let life unfold and accepting things we don't understand seems to be the key here for me.
(And in no way do i mean that this is ok...just so we're clear...and to anyone who reads this)

@@kawikaloNo way! I am still yet to understand the metaphor behind her uncle being a goat. I don't think he mistreated her, and she's still very young in this story.
You see, the video starts up happy, the girl looks so happy that many people think she's in paradise. Where everything goes bad is when the soldier (smoking at the very beginning of the video), stops that bike wheel(right before the fiery stain). That's where my theory of rape and all hell breaking loose comes from.

Thank you for ending with a positive reassurance. Most people pull a lion king, make you experience the feeling of loss before implying that it'll be okay. You spared us that, just kept focus on it being okay afterwards. Just a message to tell people that it'll be okay.

Damn! This animation is fantastic! The movement is a bit stiff but I’m extremely impressed on the hair and how the grass reacted to movement! Extreme attention to detail! Also the water particles on the grass was a bit over saturated. Could tone that down a bit but nice work! Keep practicing!

This whole animation is beautiful, but the fact that she has an abomination for pitch kind of ruins, it all poor monster is a mixture of a human, a sheep in a dog in a goat it's really unsettling. It's make matters worse, I'm eating one watching this. But amazing animation, though, the moisture on those flower really caught my attention and had everything else fall into place, like the sound of everything and a look of everything but that abomination though

@@AkhilSinghKhyalia It can be frustrating when watching these videos when the uploader doesn't put what the directors make the short about in the description. I think its because they want people to check out the animators website. This short is one of a few they have released over the last 6 years. They want to make a 2 hour movie but have had trouble funding it as it will take over 2 million according to their blog on the site. I really hope they get the funding because it seems like a really neat idea and story line! There is another short video if you type in the search bar for stina and the wolf, that shows snippets of the whole story. The evil villain, her love interest and such. I wrote out exactly what they put for the storyline on the website, I did not make any of it up :)

Hmmm, if the 'girl' was the dog and, well, you get the idea . . . wonder what reaction there would be to that (?) Still prefer 1950s Disney stuff, must be 'old' fashioned. But I give this a thumbs up, just for creativity. After all, art is what it is . . . in the mind of the beholder.

I think the real meaning of this film is that the goat was originally a human being and was a witch turned it like this😎😂
The animation is astonishing amazing, I could recognize that motion capture aided in the girls realistic looking animation, not that I am criticizing any skilled animator that worked on the production. the entire scene looked realistic the tree really caught my attention especially the clothes hanging on the line blowing in the wind, which I would say the cloth sim dynamics used was well written, and codded, and setup properly, facial animation was well done of both characters. I was wondering if MAYA aided in your workflow pipeline due to how amazing the final product looked in post. To me the story wasn't finished but I guested the team had to consider render time.
The "dog" reminded me of full metal alchemist.

there are two lessons in this video in my point of the first when he said about young age is full of anger and fast actions... and at the end the wolf of man face said every thing has a right time to be done... because he is an old man who treated by youngsters as a dog... and in other side young people don't think about their getting age side effects and think about them as wolf... this is what i have got... the hopeless old. and the miss behavior young...
