    I'm starting to look at the Duo line as a "Gadget" line product. A fun novelty project just to see what microsoft could do. Sort of like the Honda Valkyrie Rune of motorcycles.

    Often times the best way to save battery that no one talks about is just shutting off whichever of mobile data, or wifi that aren't in use currently. Are you at home on wifi? Turn off mobile data. Are you away from the house and can't connect to wifi turn off wifi. One of the biggest battery drains on devices are when the radio is constantly pinging looking for connection. If you shut off half of those radios you use a good deal less of that power.

    Really handy video as per normal, thank you so much Shane, but I went to look for your links to the chargers you mentioned, and I couldn't find them - I was interested in the fast charger. I hit your Amazon link, but that took me to a generic home page on Amazon so that wasn't a help either lol. If you have a link to the charger, please drop it below, thank you and keep up the awesome content :)

    Very helpful, thanks! Another thing you can do is to install Naptime from the Play Store. Once you grant it the necessary permissions via ADB i only loose 1% battery overnight on my duo1.

  • @joshnay279

    Here's a few tips I hope help someone :
    I disabled Google Assistant and I simply use Alexa by swiping from the corner on my Duo 2. I use Alexa in my home so it made sense. Another plus is I noticed it saves me quite a bit of battery.
    Also toggle the Override force-dark setting to be always on in developer settings.
    Depending on how strict you want to be about background tasks, you can also set the Background process limit in developer settings as well. I do that when I want background processes to work, but I don't want to go through 20 apps to change the settings to "restrict". It changes day by day. I have it set to 2 or 3 generally.

    you’re the only person who can probably help me with my duo. everytime i play games or open social media, the right side of my duo tends to get hot. is there a way to fix it? thank you.

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  Před 2 lety +1

      The right side is where your SoC is and it's going to get hot when it's under load. Duo is very thin and can't dissipate heat very well.

    Is it normal, that the screens of my Duo 1 flexes? 🤔The screen on my iPhone didn't flex at all 😅

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  Před 2 lety +1

      Your iPhone also isn't 5mm thick. That's the culprit for the flex.

    Okay, my late response.
    1) My battery on an average day ends with about 20% charge remaining.
    2) On a heavy Duo Panel Day refill at dinner or about 12~14 hours .
    3) On a lighter Duo Panel Day 50% at 18 hours.
    4) My Stand-by time is into the second day.. I use Mint Mobile as data (t-mobile) which sucks adjusted to wifi calling.
    5) Battery saver may be my bad adjustment, the wifi stays on one of four modems or extenders. I have to force modems change when I walk 50 feet from primary modem to backyard extender..
    Comcast speeds are 50m.
    Sadly my note 20 has att better signal in this area East if Oakland California. One bar LTE if I'm lucky.
    Z~Booster home cell booster does not help (Mint Mobile/T-Mobile) inside of 2 story house.
    Damn what a word salad.
    I believe Russian Dressing and a White Russian helps explain.

  • @tobycrawford5656
    @tobycrawford5656 Před rokem

    I am very concerned. I got my brand new duo 2 yesterday.
    I fully charged my phone over night, I woke up and used it for 15 minutes and it drained 20%.
    My battery says 80% will die in 1 hour 20 minutes.
    I have done all your tips and still an extreme drain.
    I've not run any apps, only chrome for browsing.
    Could this be a battery fault?
    I am gutted about the battery 😭

  • @polepino
    @polepino Před 2 lety

    What are your thoughts on the idea you shouldn't let your phone charge to 100% or discharge to 0% regularly? I have a battery charger alarm and set my phone to 80% full and 20% full, meaning I always have my battery charged between those numbers.

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  Před 2 lety +1

      The data is pretty clear, fully discharging or fully charging your battery does adversely affect its longevity. That being said, it's not something that's going to cause the battery to deteriorate past the point of decent function very quickly. You're still going to get multiple years out of the device. Super rapid charging definitely degrades it as well.

    Love the device, on the fence over going for it. This is actually Microsoft's job to iron out all these issues, tweaks and ship a complete product that gives both software and hardware experience. It took Google 6 iterations of Pixel to get it right in their 7th Gen. Microsoft being a pioneer in software field since time immemorial, this is least expected out of them. Users should not be put to task; specially after having paid a hefty premium for a user experience so clunky.

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  Před rokem +2

      Have to keep in mind that while Microsoft has been making software for a long time, they've only just started making an Android phone. They're still new to this part.
