  • Our last destination for this road trip lead us to Nashville where we stayed at the Elm Hill RV Resort. This really is a beautiful place located right on a big lake that gives most of the rv sites here lakeside views. It's a well kept place with nice facilities, pool area, and gated entry. We all plan to head out on the town for a day then come back to enjoy a nice cookout lakeside!

    Thanks for the honesty in sharing your adventure. I fully understand the issue of getting tired. When we started motorcycling in Europe, we initially rode all day, camped, and then headed out the next morning. And we did this for weeks on end. I finally realized we needed to travel one day and stay in a place 2-5 days and enjoy the area. That change in travel methodology really helped improve the feelings of getting tired. We now try to practice that with our travel trailer adventures.

    I know what you mean, traveling is tiring. I always try to plan at least 3 days back at home from a trip before I go back to work. That way I can unwind from the trip. Thanks again for sharing your adventure. Must admit, that is a beautiful resort. Would love to be out on the water.

    We spent 2 weeks at Elm Hill in July, 2023. Our site, #43...if I remember correctly, was smaller than your experience but we loved our time at the park. Highly recommend it!

    I know exactly what your saying about navigating, my wife of 43 years used to do a masterful job of navigating but 3 years ago she developed Parkinson’s so now it’s all on me, we backup and back track a lot now! God bless her she tries really hard.

    Thanks for the video of Elm Hill! I was online trying to book a reservation there while watching your video. Actual "eyes on" is so much better than looking at the campground maps online. Just a suggestion for future videos, giving specific site numbers as you move through the campground would be very helpful for anyone to follow along when navigating through the online map.

    You should buy a GPS for truckers it is designed to assist with vehicles that are pulling trailers. The next time you stop at a truck stop check them out.

    Being tired of traffic real. Name it, own it, then figure out what you need. Patch of shade and a cold beverage is a great start to unwinding.

      A shade tree, lawn chair, and a cold drink pays way better than dealing with all of the hustle & bustle of everyday real world problems.

    I find it a bit ironic that while you're roaming around my part of the country, born near Nashville (Smyrna), not too far from where you're at. Currently live in Louisville, My wife and I are traveling about in your stomping ground. Just the act of traveling in a large truck pulling a good sized travel trailer takes it's toll after a while. Like you I love my spring trips but after a few weeks it's just nice to be back home or somewhere you can get off the road for a while.

    I'm surprised your list of tight sites didn't include the beachfront sites at Camp Gulf!

    • @AbomAdventures
      @AbomAdventures  Před 3 lety +1

      Camp Gulf give us much more room to be able to back in and even park, plus we had beach front camping! Yea most of the park there is tight, but still beats renting a condo or hotel.
