More honorable mentions include episodes with parodies of Yogi Bear, Adventure Time, Beverly Hillbillies, and the one with Push It to the Limit (I forgot what what it's parodying). Any more I'm missing?
Adventure time and futurama
I remember when the Mythbusters tested myths from the Simpsons
family guy
The x-files episode. Where homer sees an alien that later turns out to be Mr. Burns.
How does the X files not get even a passing mention? the Springfield Files is absolute top tier!
I like how Bart was created because Matt Greoning was disappointed that Dennis the menace isn't that menacing
Little did Matt know that there was another Dennis the menace in the U.K, who was very menacing, also his first appearance was on the exact same day as American Dennis.
Their “Tom and Jerry” parody is literally dark, but also hilarious.
It could also be considered a Herman and Katnip parody.
@@aYT-hs6kj I think so, because that was the inspiration for Itchy & Scratchy
"The Flintstones" parody from "The Simpsons" never ceases to make me laugh.
Yes, that part was pretty funny, especially the part where Homer sings about hitting the Chestnut tree before hitting it.
He's about to hit a chestnut tree
@@Iansco1 🤣
‘The Flintstones’ parody scene was pretty good.
and still the Flintstones are still " a page right out of history" and Home never fails to "hit that chestnut tree".
Yabba dabba doo
not just that opening but the entire episode (marge vs the monorail.) is hilarious. especially the first 5 minutes. one of my favorites in the golden years.
3:30
The “Yogi Bear” parody was hilarious!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
'Twilighty show about that zone.'
Homer never changes. 🤣🤣🤣
Fred Flintstone as the judge in The Simpsons Guy is still awesome
The parody they did for Fargo entitled "A Serious Flanders." (It was a two parter.)
Tbh, it was like I was watching the actual show. It had the crazy music.... a bad guy with his two henchmen.... a cop played by Timothy Olyphant.... a shootout at a motel..... and woman with an accent from Fargo played by Cristin Milioti. (Both Olyphant and Milioti had roles in the Fargo series. Milioti in season 2 and Oly... as a cop... in season 4.) Snow, guns, blood and...... lots and lots of death.
Very iconic episodes.
I watched Behind the Music all the time as a kid. And this fan approves wholeheartedly with that Simpsons parody of it. Documentaries were and still are my go-to entertainment. Thanks, WatchMojo! ❤️👍🏾
No Shining mention makes Ken go something-something.
shining is not a tv show
24 Minutes is hands down one of my favorites!!🤣
I love The Simpsons parodying things lmao
I remember the same episode about Marge's fear of flying they also did a parody of Lost In Space.
and Homer's time in space was supposed to be (I think) a parody of 2001: a space odessy with the "inanimate carbon rod" replacing the black monolith.
that episode was one of those i didn't see until much much later after it aired. i saw it finally when i was recording every episode of the simpsons so i could have a collection. i started around season 8 and finished in season 11. kept going until season 13 when i stopped watching the show regularly. had a nice 16 tape collection (recorded in extra long play). i don't know whatever happened to those tapes but they were degrading from me watching the entire collection over and over again.
Another thing I found funny about the South Park parody that's I'm surprised nobody has really pointed out is the fact that Milhouse comments on how the kids in South Park are voiced by adults and then you hear Stan talking and he has the same voice as Milhouse proving that adults voice to kids in The Simpsons as well.
"GO BANNANA!" 🍌
-Ralph Wiggum
'Behind the Music' parody scene was pretty awesome.
Just a note, Homer was fleeing at the mention of Karaoke, not because one of the Cheers members was brandishing a bottle. Something that he was quite used to from all the time spent at Moe's and the numerous bar fights(both actual and implied) that occurred there.
Homer³ had awesome CG for it's time
I LOVE the ‘Flintstones’ intro parody. Always have. 🤣
My favorite one... idk if it was a parody or not. But Homer lost what mind he has and went to find his real true love. (Because a vision told him it wasnt Marge) Anyway he ends up in a lighthouse. You see his silhouette against the sky and Bart says "hey is that Dad?" Lisa responds, "Either that or Batman really let himself go."
The episode where they parodied The Prisoner was EPIC!
The x-files episode is my favorite one.
Its the one where homer sees an alien that later on turns out to be Mr. Burns. and agent Scully and Mulder come to Springfield to investigate the case.
leonard nimoy leaving at the end of act 2 so the teenager guy had to finish off at the end. classic.
These are great parodies.
I love this!
Only top 10? This needs a top 25 at least ... and not even a mention Hank Scorpio of Globex Corporation and the take on Bond villains or the X-Files and Mr. Burns being an alien?! Classic and amazing.
I don’t know if the “Springfield Files” count as a parody of the “X-Files.”
it's counts
how dose it not they make fun of the 2 main characters
It does. It even starred the two main stars as Agents Mulder and Scully, FBI.
@@robertanthonyfairweather3416 would anyone be surprised if Burns WAS an alien?
@@andrewmurray1550 That depends. Do the people of Springfield even think of Mr Burns as human and humane?
The whole show parodied about everything possible
The Simpsons and south park will always be my favorite.
I love Married with Children, even if I am only 22. My dad had it on every morning and it was the best ever! Besides Peggy is the VA for Leela in Futurama and they even had an episode with Leela playing Peggy again
I was a little bit surprised that their “X-files” episode wasn’t mentioned! 😁👍
5:46 is Home Improvement how Tim rides over his neighbor
I love all them ... The Simpsons TV parodies
It always make my day
In Season 13, episode 18 I Am Furious (Yellow). Danger Dog is a direct reference to Danger Mouse, world's greatest secret agent.
Totally amazing video of the different parody in the Simpsons, fantastic job.
0:00 I do like both The Flintstones and The Simpsons and they're two of my favourite animated TV series
Krusty the Klown...Klown doll saying "I love you homer" is more creepy that the evil one.
24 Minutes was a great episode!
My favourite Simpsons parody was when the Simpsons where shown as anime characters is TreeHouse of Horror 25
Homer didn't flee the Cheers bar because of Norm - he flees because they mention there will be karaoke.
At least that's what I understood the joke to be.
The capefear parody was great!
For Cheers you forgot the theme song in Flaming Moe's, I'd argue it's better than the original
Many parodies are featured in the Treehouse of Horror episodes too. The shining nightmare on elm street and the exorcist etc.
Old Simpsons never disappoint
I enjoyed the opening of Treehouse of Horror with many horror movies references or every Treehouse of Horror for that matter. Love all of them!
I like their take on "The Raven" by Edgar Alan Poe.
i loved the simpsons yabba dabba doo parody opening with homer. that whole episode was one of the funniest ones i ever saw of the golden years.
Could anyone imagine if the "good" switch on the Krusty doll actually depicted the clowns real nature
The chestnut tree had me in tears when I first saw it
The Simpsons and Family Guy are the king of parodies
the toilet flushing in the married with children parody was a reference to married with children being the first tv show to show people going to the toilet and not being discrete about it. It was also the first TV show to have a family being openly nasty to each other, instead of shows like the Cosby show, Brady Bunch which was always a happy family unit. The audience loved this new approach.
In Futurama , Leela is Peggy . There's even a parody of it .
That makes sense considering they're both played by the same actress.
One of my favorite parodies is the big bag intro
Why tf am I so early for a topmojo video
I know it's not a tv show parody but the lego movie parody they did was great
My favorite is the Flinstones one, it’s really funny
I thought there was one that was sort of a parody of Jurassic Park in that the park attractions kill the visitors. Where the Simpsons visit the Itchy and Scratchy theme park and the robots go bonkers.
They never did "Home Alone" parody with the antagonist being Sideshow Bob. All Bart would need are a bunch of rakes all over the lawn. But the best parody with Bob was the "Cape Fear" one.
The computer wore menace shoes is my favourite episode from the entire run, it captures Patrick McGoohan’s seminal series so well.
The title was likely cribbed from Disney's "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" (1969).
I wish they had mentioned that McGoohan had voiced his parody character. I thought that was cool.
I love Tom & Jerry since I was little. Just never noticed The Simpsons used that concept. Maybe a little cause I did see The Simpsons Movie in theaters when I was just 8 years old.
every second episode featured Lisa and Bart laughing their asses off to Itchy and Scratch and you never noticed? I don't recall the Simpsons movie actually featuring Itchy and scratchy anyway. There was a "spider pig" and then they got thrown out of town for (Homer's action of) polluting the water supply.
@@andrewmurray1550 The movie itself is the only Simpsons thing I’ve ever seen since I was a kid. When I got older, I was curious watching some clips of the show
@@andrewmurray1550 In the beginning of The Simpsons Movie, it starts Itchy and Scratchy on the moon
I love the Simpsons Parady of MythBusters, because it is funny, and I really like Adam and Jamie in cartoon form. I makes me laugh every time. Sabrina Griffin
The X-files episode is one of my favorite episodes.
Some episodes of Tom and Jerry make Itchy and Scratchy look like Blues Clues.
The X Files is my favorite The Simpsons episode of time.
That yogi bear parody is my favorite simpsons episode
Imagine what would happen if The Simpsons did a parody of Rugrats, SpongeBob SquarePants, Malcolm in the Middle, MLP: FiM, and Batman: TAS.
This one of those stop the video I’m going to go watch the episode then come back for the next one. I wasn’t planning on watching The Simpsons today but it must be done.
"Odder Stuff" was great
The Simpsons will always be a favorite sitcom!
it's not a sitcom, it's a cartoon......
“Simpsons did it!”

Number 8 was written by Conan O'Brien before he Had a show and everything
My favorite parody is when they did The Shining. Very funny!
There's an episode where the Simpsons are watching "Dinosaurs."
3:47 U more or less took the words right outa my mouth...
Never knew about the adventure Time one
you missed the fugitive parody with millhouse jumping to the river when tommy lee jones was questing him just like the movie:
"my glasses!!!" 🤣🤣🤣
Top 20 best The Simpsons episodes 🙏
Pokemon Look I'm Not a Huge Fan Of this franchise but The Simpsons parody was top notch In my opinion
You forgot to mention that Jim Henson's Dinosaurs was in the Simpsons too. It's on the episode "Black Widower."
Solid list, but how is the X-Files episode not on this?
Who remembers the one with Bart Reading Minds
The X Files and Cape Feare. I mean, Cape Feare is one of the best Simpsons episodes of all time and the whole thing is one massive parody of the movie Cape Feare... 😂
One not mentioned - Mary Poppins/Sherry Bobbins.
Also these aren't exactly 'parodies" unless you consider the celebs playing a send-up of themselves (or popular characters they have portrayed) such as Alec (mistaken as William ("Billy") by Homer) Baldwin and Kim BAS-in-ger (vs BASE-ing-Ger) or Lucy Lawless, who insists she's not Xena, because Xena can't fly like Superman....
Hey you'll never stop the Simpson's. Embarrassing you missed that. Genius

Examples:
McDonald's
Burger King
Snickers
Butterfingers
Progressive
GEICO
Statefarm
Farmers
Skittles
M&Ms
Farmers
PlayStation
Nintendo
ALL OF THESE ARE FUNNY!
I suppose Fargo wasn't on here as it wasn't particularly funny but damn it was thrilling and excellent
Funny how you had them as Adventure Time in the thumbnail, and at the very beginning of the video, yet you never went back and talked about it in the list, not even in the honorable mentions. That's WatchMojo logic!
4:23 15 years old seeing clip
The ep with the Krusty doll also parodies "Love, American Style ".
Nice
Should make a part 2, you forgot to add the X-files.
they did not
@@jimbo9208 Well specifically in this list they did.
I liked when they did the Hitchcock parodies like ‘Strangers on a Train’ and ‘Rear Window’ (replete with a Jimmy Stewart type character). For the ‘X-Files’ parody I think they even had Hitchcock walking a small dog.
It’s depressing in my mid 30s that I’m
A) Older than the Simpsons
B) The only two “family related animated” shows were The Flintstones and The Jetsons… I wouldn’t change a damn fecking thing…
and of course Futurama is one big parody on "The Jetsons".
I don’t really agree because my favorite Simpsons parody is it’s a wonderful life. It’s a funny scene and at least should have made honorable mentions
"Go ahead-a, Bart. Take-a the Bonestorm."
I love how the writers of the show made fun of the most controversial episode “the principal and the pauper” seasons later because even the creator of the show called it a huge mistake.
I think the Cheers scene was great, but I'm guessing they didn't give Frasier any audible line because it would have given away the Sideshow Bob connection.
The staff could not arrange the script to allow time in the episode for Grammer
@@jabberwock6 aww 😔
Itchy and Scratchy should have been number 1
bart frying james bond in a microwave
