(Fan Since 1975) For me my favorite era would have to be 1977. I purchased Love Gun with my own money. It was my favorite stage (Followed by the Spider, Monster stage). It was my favorite costumes. So much I could say. There are so many important years, such as 1975, 78, 79, 83, and I would be remiss not to mention 1996 and the Reunion. I vividly recall the disappointment for me in the stage itself. The show was solid and I was thrilled beyond measure to see the original 4 again performing. Yes, I did see them in the 1970's.
For me 1978 - I'd been a fan since late ' 75 ( Alive was my introduction ) but ' 78 was when it exploded. I was finally making money ( age 15 ) via tape trading / garden cutting / car washing so could afford to fund my KISS obsession . All four solo albums , all the coloured solo singles , vinyl bootlegs were more available ( Takes Tokyo / Sneak Attack / KISS My Axe etc ). Plenty of KISS appearing in Sounds , record stores stocking KISS , books filtering in from the USA , Music Life specials. Simply the best year ever !!
Always entertaining show 👍 1975 Kiss Alive that was the year that was magic just nothing before or after was the same / that is truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth🙏
Well done in securing Tuomas Holopainen from Nightwish as a guest on your show this week. His monologue about being young in Sweden was fascinating, although I always thought Tuomas was Finnish 😁
Hm.... I hink for me it will be 1995. I was in high school, I was already a fan of Deep Purple, Rainbow and Scorpions. I knew about Kiss but never heared them. Onece my friend gave me a "Greatest" cassette, and I really enjoyed it. Then I went to my local music shop and bought Asylum and Destroyer and this was a moment I fell in love... with Asylum. I liked Destroyer too, but Asylum I liked more. And then it started: me and my friend were buying different albums and copying them from each other. I bought Love Gun, Crazy Nights and Creatures'85 and he gave me Dynasty, HITS and Revenge. My favourites were Asylum, Creatures and HTS, then Crazy Nights, Love Gun and Destroyer, then Dynasty (I still mostly stand by this ranking). And then once upon a time my dad brought me Exposed video cassette... This was SO FCKN COOL! I loved everyting about it, especially those 3 Asylum videos! And maybe this is why I can't hate on Stanley - for me he will always be that funny guy from Exposed and that awsome over-the top frontman from Asylum music videos! "Stanley, what're you doing here? You look so cute!" "Edit her out!" Fckn masterpiece! We were watching it over and over with that same friend and thougt that we will film something similar when we become a famous band 😂 Ahhh... Nice memory trip!
Paul's promotion of the Avatars felt like the same line they got fed for Phantom - " A Hard Days Night meets Star Wars." And we all know how that came out. (; To answer Lonnie's question regarding the pause in product, I think allot of it has to do with not only the changing of ownership and determining new licensing agreements, but there might also be a waiting period to allow existing licensing agreements to expire. I also think there is that age old wisdom that making people wait for something might prove beneficial because it can help build back demand. Just pushing things out constantly has been part of KISS' problem the last two decades. A brief pause is actually welcomed from my perspective. And Paul can not directly speak to new material anymore because he no longer has ownership over any of it. Pophouse is calling the shots now and people need to remove this notion that Paul or Gene can make decisions or even make announcements without approval from Pophouse first. Lastly '77 will always be my favorite year. KISS were truly at the height of their creative juices and everything seem to be going their way.
Great, reflective choices here. There are many interesting choices and perspectives the viewers can share. Glad to hear guys who 'get it' conduct these conversations. I ended a romance with the most beautiful girl in Jr High in 1978 after she gave me the old '"Knights in..." acronym BS. A Kiss maniac since 1975 Dressed To Kill.....I still have to say, that 1977 was the best where it came together - music, Comic Book, Japan, big Tours, magazines, widescale Media coverage, and the older kids had not jumped ship yet.

1980 by far. I was 10 and Kiss came to Norway for the first time.
My favorite year will always be 1976, the year I discovered my favorite band!

Excellent observations, thanks for sharing those!
For me it started in 1979 but the best year was probably 1992
