In 1980, "Never Knew Love Like This Before" peaked @ #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, #12 on the R&B chart & #5 on the Disco/Dance chart ( bundled with "Sweet Sensation.") At the Grammy Awards, the record won the R&B Song of the Year and Stephanie Mills won for Best R&B Female Vocal.

I would have went with her song "I Feel Good All Over" This was her only pop song, but everything else by her was straight up awesome r&b. Her duet with Teddy Pendergrass called "Feel the Fire" is one of the most powerful duets that I have ever heard in my life. You gotta do some Phyllis Hyman, "Living All Alone"Lisa Fisher "How Do I Ease the Pain" Jennifer Holiday "And I'm Telling You" Angela Winbush "Angel" and Sylvia "Pillow Talk"

My homegirl! (I dont know her 😅 but we went to the same high school. I graduated with her brother.) She has *lots* of good music. How Come You Dont Call Me Anymore (Prince's song), Two Hearts (duet with Teddy Pendergrass), You and I, I Have Come to Respect the Power of Love, Last Night, In My Life, Pilot Error, The Medicine Song, Feel the Fire (with or without Teddy Pendergrass), Take Me In Your Arms Tonight (uptempo duet with Teddy), Put Your Body In It, You Can Get Over, and lots more. This was produced by James Mtume and Reggie Lucas, who gave her (and many others) some great music.

Yes, definitely. I'm a musician, musicologist, and worked in music retail for decades. There is so much great music we all have yet to discover in so many genres. I listen to everything. Some I like an some music I don't, but I appreciate what he artist put into it. I have "transitional" works and artists in my collection. That makes listening to another genre easier for your ears to adapt to as well. It's a passion of mine.

Great song! Def has 70s disco undertone! You should get back to Mr. Barry White soon! "You're My First, My Last, My Everything" has that great feel as well!😊

Amber & Jay I'm glad that u guys did the long version of this song 🎶 cuz u wouldn't have heard 👂 that beautiful ending. This song 🎶 is a classic Disco R & B Song 🎶 . This was her best song 🎶 that I luved ❤️ from her. She has a wonderful voice. I did my Aunt & Uncle's 50th wedding 💒 anniversary N I used this song 🎶 on my Pic Video I Did. They luved it. Stephanie Mills has lots of great hits like What Cha Gonna Do with My Lovin' (video), I Feel Good All Over, (You're Puttin') A Rush On Me (video), Two Hearts featuring Teddy Pendergrass, Put Ur Body In It, Sweet Sensation, The Medicine Song (video), Starlight. All these songs were classic n u guys will enjoy her music.

I loved your reaction to this, Jay and Amber.
This is a great song, but my favourites by her are, "Put Your Body In It", "What Cha Gonna Do With My Lovin'", and "The Medicine Song", she has many more hits, but for me these are her best.

Stephanie Mills went to my church in Brooklyn and she sung in the young choir so I got to hear her every Sunday and before the World did. Then she got the call for "The Wiz" and after that her career took off. She was a year older than me.
