Pre war theme is my favorite.
Nice small pieces of aesthetically pleasing furniture and rugs make for a welcoming, homey feel while not really getting in the way. I don't like the tricycle though so I usually just pick it up and shove it in a corner somewhere.

You can't own the suite, but you can break into it.
Surrealist Gal Actually I glitched my game before, and when I killed Arthur tenpenny for his key, he also had the tower suite key. still not sure how I did that
Well you can always kill them all there.
You can take out tenpenny in a separate mission and loot him...
Funny enough, you can still use the Tenoenny suite without getting the key at all. The key only opens the front door, but you can enter from the balcony door. Just enter the balcony from Tenpenny's room and circle around to the other door. Cogsworth will still greet and cater to you as though you own the room and can still use the bed and storage space.

The Tv in the pre war one may not have cable or whatever, but I'm sure you could play old holo tapes on it. Like I've got a Tv out at my families cabin, and we don't get cable or internet, but we still watch VHS, and DVDs at night if we aren't outside.
But it would need a power source, as well a means to connect the holotype.

I went with the prewar theme in my first playthrough. Since it made everything look all clean and such. In my second playthrough, I went with the science theme. Since it made everything all glowy and such.
Never could bring myself to Nuke Megaton, even while playing an evil character. Tennpenny towner's room just seemed too boring. No matter what theme you gave it. Plus the place was inhabited by jerks.

I went and saved up for the pre-war theme on my first playthrough (I didn't know any good money making tips at the time). Since I have to collect everything on the game, I decided that in my new Playthroughs I would use the Wasteland theme for the bench to display my favorite things
Yeah, I’m not sure if I can blow that place up with Gob and Deputy Weld. Plus you can sell scrap metal to that mechanic guy for caps. I can’t remember his name.

when you enter craterside supply and take the door to the left, up against the wall at the bottom of the stairs crouch and go into 3rd person and you can access a floating locker outside the building and you can get all the items for free, it'll save you about 5000 caps. good luck
There was a copy of Nikola Tesla in the Science theme, a pretty big point in the themes.

Dead mutilated corpse on the ground. These people take decorating to a whole new level.
So I played Fallout3 a lot. Like, more than a healthy amount. One of the things that I did to amuse myself was set a "Loot Goal" that I'd collect when I was wandering around the Capital.
My favourite one was when I had collected hundreds and hundreds of intact garden gnomes. No damaged ones, just intact ones. I arranged them around my Megaton house so that they were all staring at you when you walked through the door.
I let my buddy tool around in my game while I made us some lunch.
We didn't talk for a while after that....

You can get the house accessories free. To do so, enter Craterside Supply then go to the wall in front of the stairs that lead to the upper floor. If you use the 3rd-person camera rotation exploit you will find there is a locker behind the wall. Inside are the house accessories. Also making explosives one of your tag skills makes it really easy to get the house right at the beginning of the game.

Love nest theme. Also known as "Post apocalyptic Quagmire"
I went with the prewar theme and decorated further with Nuka trucks, teddy bears, Nuka cola quantums for that lovely glow and a few heavy weapons. Living in Megaton is sweet. Shops, Doctor, food and fast travel takes ya right beside the house. Felt more like home than Novac or the casino.

I think I like the pre-war theme. It looks most like an actual house and is classy. I could invite my megaton neighbors over for a drink and watch some tv. Plus the couch in the storage room is just nice!

Yo Ox, you can steal all of the things for your house (except the themes).
What you do is, in craterside supply the room across from the counter on the wall facing the door, you can see the whiteness of the interior cell, you will see a floating locker in the void (Bethesda logic) when you align your camera angle just right (in 3rd person) you will see the option to open locker this locker is not locked, but it still counts as stealing so make sure you are hidden, all of the workshops and stuff are in there (infirmary, Nuka Cola machine, laboratory, work bench, jukebox) (basically everything except the themes)
Note on the themes. If you do decide to change, take everything that isn't nailed down and store it before you make the switch. Keep anything that you can use to craft if you like, and sell the rest back to Moira to partially defray the cost of the change. s
it's 2017 and I still decided to play the game again!
It's prewar for me, every time. Mainly for how the rugs make the place feel cozier.
And how the decor is actually useful-comfy seating beats useless consoles any day!

i'd love to see a lore video on the white glove society from new vegas, that place is very memorable to me and itd be great to see a video from you about it!
The science theme is really useful. In the room that normally houses the motorcycle on the shelves behind the door are a bunch of radiation Chen’s and some buff out and mentats. Downstairs on the shelf with the human skull you can actually find a skill book and some stimpacks and 1 med ex. Very useful for a early game character. And it looks pretty cool with all of the consoles.

That's what I did, and with the help of mods, I much prefer how I decorated it, to the themes.

That Raider theme, you'd be dead within a year, corpses are breeding grounds for all sorts of bacteria and parasites, and that's WITHOUT the radiation. I knew raiders were dumb but their love of corpses really takes the cake

I have a theory... What if Benny from Fallout: New Vegas is Father in Fallout 4? Think about it, it makes so much sense! I don't even have to explain myself, it makes so much sense.
Tyler F That makes no sense, at all. Since NV is Canon, Benny is dead, making that completely break Canon. Shaun is named Father even in the GECK. Besides, it breaks the theme of the game.

New Vegas was set in the year 2281, 6 years before fallout 4. Benny was probably in his 30s, and father is like 60.

And remember, if you don't know this but some of these themes, they have skill books that you can read and level up your skills. And all the things you get in each theme can be taken, at least most of it.

I was super excited the first time I got the megaton house. Now that I've played Fallout 4, I much prefer the ability to build the furnishings and the house itself instead of a theme decoration you can't interact with.

I have a weird habbit of placing items around the room in a way that makes it look lived in... It serves no purpose and it takes hours, but I love it.
I think "Love Nest" was named wrong. "Sociopath's Lair" sounds a bit closer. Maybe the guys at Bethesda don't date much? Or maybe they do, and this is what looks "normal?"
The wasteslander house is good because it allows you to get a gun and a bat and a knife as a means of early weapons, since if you go explosive build you get the best results that way.
Hey, oxhorn, I have an idea. When exploring vault 106, you'll find a cave area with a mini nuke and some ammo near a couple of skeletons. When exploring this section, I was examining the boulder pile and I realized that I could almost see something through a couple of cracks in the pile. I was thinking that since Bethesda put a mini nuke there, they were blasting their way through. I was wondering if during your exploration, you could try blasting the boulder wall with a Fat man or toggle clippings

Nice video, I always choose the Love Machine theme for the lights on the ceiling and tree. I just ignore the big art piece haha. But it was nice to see the other themes :)
I always enjoyed both the Explorers and Pre-war theme.
Explorer for the cool posters, and the Pre-War for the practical look that it gives the player home.

The vault theme was always my favorite idk why but I feel like if I was in the wasteland and from a vault I would wanna be reminded of my roots

Oxhorn: The film reading machine is a microfiche reader. Back before computers all preserved newspapers and magazines were committed to microfiche film. You could either print out what you viewed, or could print out what was on the film.

So from blood and guts to a giant lamp of two women going wild, to consoles everywhere, to just plain old nostalgia. I have to give Bethesda some credit here. They have a wild imagination.
I want to imagine the Raider theme is made using a bunch of Halloween decorations Moira found in Springvale or something.

My favorite theme is definitely the Pre war theme! It looks the best I think! Your awesome keep up the good work! I love your settlements in Fallout 4, your above ground Vault, and vault 88 all looked amazing!!
Now I know where the inspiration for several things in the Underground Hideout mod for F:NV came from! It has an auto-doc, a lab that can make random compounds, and a nuka-cola fridge that will turn regular nuka-cola into ice cold nuka-cola.
Oxhorn the 'Film Reading Thing' in the 'Science Theme', is a Microfiche Machine. It's a form of 1950's style mass storage.
