- ZERO is Mondraker’s proprietary most efficient, best performing and super capable suspension system. ZERO is individually designed, set up and optimised for the best pedalling efficiency and biggest hit capability on each Mondraker full suspension model across the range, from little F-Trick to Summum Carbon World Cup & World Championship winning downhill bikes.
ZERO is a virtual pivot suspension system with an exclusive dual link design. The most unique and exclusive feature of ZERO is that the shock floats between the two suspension links and is compressed from both ends. This makes the rear suspension extremely supple on small bumps and big hit capable, really the most acknowledgeable and astounding feature of every Mondraker full suspension bike.

Seeing doddy say "we" in terms of mondraker is still a bit of a surreal experience.
You can hear he thinks the same way when he says it. But it is the correct way to say it for/as a company
I think all bike brands would benefit to have a "Doddy" presenting their products! He is indeed the Attenborough of the bike industry, at least for me!
Appreciate the thoughtfulness on making sure smaller riders and riders of all sizes get an optimized ride.
Doddy has to be really hurting inside to talk about "zero kickback, zero powerloss" ..... he is a techie, and he ride the bikes, he knows thats a big fat lie :D bro the DH bike has so much pedal kickback its insane
Why is he here? I lost track, why did he leave GMBN ?
Ikr. He knows well all these zero thingy are an exaggeration (no suspension design is 100% perfect, so you can't claim the zero of the undesired effects) and mostly a marketing gimmick, but oh well he is paid to promote them.
@@mobilewintercamp7515 he left to work with Mondraker, theres a video about it on gmbn channel for sure
@@sampah89 yeah thats how you lose respect as an "objective tech head" in my opinion....
@@tomasstraka5244 thanks I tried looking I’ll give it another go. You guys are correct, I liked is completely objective analysis and opinions. Now we lost that in the industry as he is confined to a limited situation and his analysis of the bikes can only be seen as a promotion and not objective assessment. I do think I saw he has a personal channel covering a look at retro bikes which is nice. I do enjoy that because he’s about my age and it’s in my zone of history.
We miss you at Gmbn tech, doddy!
Why did he leave?
love this talk, i have a Mondraker Dune R myself, but pedal kickback is absolutely there, quite high too. Nonetheless pedals amazing, its supple and sensitive.
I really dont get this habit of all brands in this industry to try and upsell their stuff, both hiding their excellence and weak points, in favor of a "Do all" bike, while people are not as stupid as you might think they are, and everyone kinda knows how such "do all bikes" dont exist.
Got myself a Crafty R in December, absolutely loving it. The only pain points are the charge port cover is rubbish and the lower linkage is a wonderful trap for all the crud on wet scottish trails....apart from that, it's fantastic bike. 👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐ (yes 4 out 5 stars)
I love Mondraker bikes, but if it was so easy to combine zero pedal kickback with zero power loss (anti squat) and zero break jack, everyone would do it. According to the current state of science, it is not possible to combine everything. It's always a trade-off. Mondraker bikes are very pedal efficient and also have very little break jack. But the pedal kickback is relatively high. I also don't understand why a downhill bike needs so much anti squat. You can easily fix the pedal kickback with an O-Chain (which many people use with the Summum) and the Summum is a very cool downhill bike. But less anti squat and less pedal kickback and a slightly more sensitive suspension would be a sensible trade for a downhill bike, in my opinion. On my Mondraker Level RR 2023 I actually don't feel any pedal kickback at all, but that's probably due to the Bosch motor, which acts like a small O-chain due to the freewheel. So what I actually wanted to say: Mondraker bikes are very cool, but you shouldn't overdo the marketing because no product is perfect and people know that now and tend to react negatively to something like that.
Have you used o chain on a trail bike?
@@peterk7662 No
Looking forward to trying the neat at local bike shops RideOn in Rawtenstall when he gets one in ...Doddy would be great to see you pop in 😊😉👍
I'd love one of those NEAT E-Bikes,proper nice...Ha!
Miss you over at GMBN Tech
He's not with gmbn anymore?
@@nyreppin1 no
jumped that dying ship....
Good presentation 👏🏼 open question: "is the dirt landing on the rearshock or ist it dirt protected?"
suggest fixing the misspelling of "brake" at 4:01. The text on screen has it as "break"
..and yet, the world goes on..
I have a Superfoxy 2020 myself and i love this bike. But what i don't understand is why there are no graphs or numbers about all the aspects of the Zero suspension system available? I really want to know what "Zero" means in this case. We all know that there is no such thing as the perfect suspension system and i hoped to get some well-founded informations from Doddy here, but now i'm a little bit disappointed
U have done it… I wanna buy one
After the Summum the Neat is definitely my 2nd favorite Mondraker the 3rd would be the the F Podium
there's Summin' Neat about the Crafty, isn't there 🤣🤣
Love it
0 is a 10 in my book. I've had and loved bikes with full floating shocks since the McMahon days. 👍🏼
Bravooooo!!!!!!
It’s amazing how effective these bikes are. I have 2021 Superfoxy Carbon R that I custom built to 27.5lbs. It handles and climbs like a proper XC bike w/o being sluggish at all while being able to conquer almost anything I throw at it. BTW are they re-designing Foxy & Superfoxy frames anytime soon? I see the seatstay dropping on F-Podium, Summon and the new model Neat. I kinda like the visual aspect of the top tube perfectly in line with the seatstay forming a straight line.
if you say that super enduro climbs like a proper XC bike, you never rode anything even close to proper XC bike mate.... :D
@@tomasstraka5244 I rode Santa Cruz Blur Specialized Epic Trek Supercaliber Gen 1 and other fast sub 10kg bikes. Yeah I know I was but exaggerating and yes not as fast but not that far off either. Some of more capable XC bikes like Blur TR & Transition Spur felt way too plush for XC bike & I was losing a lot of power without lockout
will doddy have a dropbar full suspension on this channel?
?
So my eyes didn't lie to me on that tiny thumbnail 🧐
Cmon Doddy. You left out the dw link. Which this new bike is using now because the patent has expired
It's cool and all that Mondraker signed Doddy and they're doing all this marketing. Bikes look sick, and they've got successful racing teams. There are still very few reviews of these bikes out there and fewer dealers in the US. They can claim all they want about their suspension performance but until I ride one or one of the reviewers I trust rides one, I'm not sold. Bikes look sick, and they've got successful racing teams.
Mondraker is establishing a US office now, and starting to sign dealers, do some promotion, etc.. They'll also be attending some of the major demo events this summer so hit 'em up!
did doddy leave gmbn ?
A while ago, yes.
IF there is no pedal kickback (more than other VPP based designs, APB/Maestro/DW) then this could be a great alternative to HP
there always is only a compromise..... you cant have 0 pedal kickback with 100% efficiency and great antisquat and antirise.... only on a hardtail :D
Lots of coments on the kickback. My f- podium se has so litle kickback its unreal. Going over roots im ready all the time for loading up for a jump and on flat pedals. Not sure on efficiency, my previous wheelset with tires was about a kilo lighter. Upgrades incoming.
I'm only here because of Doddy
Love the presenting of Doddy as always, but I will admit that the absolute sales statements from him are slightly jarring. I would prefer more talk of optimised setups as opposed to the Zero line. Nice marketing phrases, but potentially a bit technically questionable.
Zero pedal kickback is a false statement. I broke a 200km old chain doing a low speed drop on my 22 Crafty. This was followed shortly after with me slamming the ground as I put down a pedal stroke which completed the chain break and sent me over the bars.
I love the bike , but hearing false statements from the manufacturer doesn't sit well and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.
Shame the frame bearings dont last longer than 3 months. I spend so much money on goddamn frame bearings on my 2023 foxy c
I will better buy single pivpt design, that this one, because of suspension design and shock placement.
oh no.... its Brake jack not break jack
3:37 That is an absolute lie. You can't have high anti-squat (for pedal efficiency) and zero/low pedal kickback. It's always a compromise. And the bike he shows has 24° pedal kickback 😆But now Doddy is a marketer, not that at GMBN he was completely unbiased and reliable.
And he completely misunderstands anti-rise, brake squat and brake jack. Anti-rise and brake squat are exactly the same thing and are dictated by the instant center. Brake jack is something else and is dictated by the position of the brake caliper and it's movement relative to the brake rotor while the suspension moves (which sometimes is addressed with a floating caliper). Hey, but sometimes even bike companies don't know this. Google "AASQ #148: What is Brake Jack, and how does it differ from Anti-Rise?" and see completely different answers (btw, Devinci is the most correct).
4:15 That's a contradiction. When the rear suspension extends it feels softer not firmer.
Keep your ancient technology.
Zero suspension. Frame only.
what a load of BS
sorry but this is nothing new that's just an old suspension with a load of talk around the new LOOK of it
haibike has this suspension since around 2016
repackaged
Can anyone tell me where the serial number is on my crafty rr 2023???
