Newcastle United Football Club is an English professional football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne, that plays in the Premier League which is the top-flight of English football. The club was founded in 1892 by the merger of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End. The team plays its home matches at St. James' Park. All Premier League clubs have an all-seater stadium, the ground was adjusted in the mid-1990s and currently has a capacity of 52,305.
The club has been a member of the Premier League for all but three years of the competition's history, spending 88 seasons in the top-flight as of July 2020, and have never dropped below English football's second tier since joining the Football League in 1893. Newcastle have won 4 League titles, 6 FA Cups and a Charity Shield, as well as the 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup, the ninth highest total of trophies won by an English club. The club's most successful period was between 1904 and 1910, when they won an FA Cup and three of their League titles. Newcastle were relegated in 2009, and again in the 2016 season. The club won promotion at the first time of asking each time, returning to the Premier League, as Championship winners, in 2010 and 2017.
As of the 2019-20 season, Newcastle United have spent 88 seasons in the top-flight. They are eighth in the all-time Premier League table and have the ninth-highest total of major honours won by an English club with 11 wins. The club's top goal scorer is Alan Shearer, who scored 206 goals in all competitions between 1996 and 2006. Andy Cole holds the record for the most goals scored in a season: 41 in the 1993-94 season in the Premier League. Shay Given is the most capped international for the club, with 134 appearances for Republic of Ireland. Alan Shearer returned for one more season in the 2005-06 season. This last season saw him break Jackie Milburn's 49-year-old record of 200 goals for Newcastle United when he netted his 201st strike in a home Premier League fixture against Portsmouth on 4 February 2006, becoming the club's highest-ever league and cup competition goal scorer with 201 goals altogether. On 17 April 2006, Shearer suffered a tear to the medial collateral ligament in his left knee after a collision during a 4-1 win at Sunderland in which he scored his 206th and final goal in what was his 395th appearance for the club.
St James' Park is a football stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is the home of Premier League club Newcastle United F.C. With a seating capacity of 52,305 seats, it is the eighth largest football stadium in England. St James' Park has been the home ground of Newcastle United since 1892 and has been used for football since 1880. Throughout its history, the desire for expansion has caused conflict with local residents and the local council. This has led to proposals to move at least twice in the late 1960s, and a controversial 1995 proposed move to nearby Leazes Park. Reluctance to move has led to the distinctive lop-sided appearance of the present-day stadium's asymmetrical stands. Besides club football, St James' Park has also been used for international football, at the 2012 Olympics, for the rugby league Magic Weekend, rugby union World Cup, Premiership and England Test matches, charity football events, rock concerts, and as a set for film and reality television.

Here's the thing about FFP etc
It does BOTH it helps clubs from becoming unsustainable and at the same time cements and props up the rich clubs.

    Why a midfielder?
Bruno, Joelinton, Tonali, Wilock, Longstaff, Anderson, Miley.
    Who are we selling?

I can't see a scenario where one of bruno or isak doesn't leave this summer unfortunately. if we don't get 6th i cant see how either one of them doesn't end up leaving as at the end of the day they were sold the project on the premise of playing european football. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be the case but with PSR and sailing close to the wind offloading fringe players wont cut it

Ben always over simplifies the financial situation and supports the rules. He knows the rules are just as much about protecting the status quo as financial security but he gaslights.

100% exactly what I always say ffp has 2 reasons one is to keep clubs financially stable but the other probs up the rich clubs and stops others competing, he must be gaslighting because he's a smart guy

Puts together a very sensible set of points re Bruno. Pains me to say but I think he’s off.

I normally like what Ben has to say but his take on PSR is nonsense. Although it wasn't brought in to benefit the so called top 6, it clearly does and his argument for Forest being charged counters his own view, they tried to grow/catch up and are now in breach of the rules. This theory that it's saving clubs is ridiculous, who in the past 30 years have gone out of existence?

Bruno is going nowhere. He’s toying with us fans and it’ll be inspirational when it’s announced he’s staying
