11:35 I like to flip the washers over so that they have less of a chance of popping through the toilet base after tightening. The properties I work on have all lost those plastic bolt covers over time, the only time I can install them is on new toilets.
One trick a senior tech showed me years ago for backed up sinks is fill the disposal side with water and plug the other side and also plug the air gap. Then run the garbage disposal forcing the water through the pipes. I'd say it works about 35 percent of the time. If your persistent enough... patient, maybe 40 percent of the time haha. But the clog needs to be near by
couldn’t you flush once more after turning off the angle stop to negate the need for the shop vac? That’s how I do them but maybe I’m harming something I’m not aware of!
Toilet tank empties after the first flush with the flapper held up. Shop vac is just to get the water out of the trap. Not completely necessary, but if you have one near you or on your cart
Great video. Bought one of those small sink plungers for my house because I saw you use one… what a game changer. Also I’m fascinated with the area you work in… seems very alive. Cheers Dave!
You do great work! edit: Have you ever used one of those foam toilet rings, instead of wax? I almost did in my home, but decided to stick with the tried-and-true wax.
I had to do the same thing with a toilet this week at the church I work for. Woman’s bathroom with a smell. I found the toilet and replaced the wax and it took care of the problem.
I’ve seen quite a few of your videos. You get a lot of mileage out out of your ice bucket!! Great content too. Thank you!
Hi Dave I've watched your Vlogs and learned a lot , hope you keep doing it you are a real Pro
Thanks, will do!
With the amount of work we service techs do, we sure don't get pay enough. Great work Dave, please wear gloves.
Thanks for watching and yes we sure don't get paid enough for what we do. And I think the thumbnail shows me wearing gloves :)

Ah yes, reminds me of my days with Sears. Btw, those agitators use "dogs" for the clutch mechanism..
This guy is so fucking entertaining
Much appreciated!!

I’ve read and seen videos on them, seems like they work well. They are much more expensive than wax though.
I use them. They work well and they are reusable if you ever need to take the toilet out again. Also there is no wax mess to clean up.
@@djf4538 lots of valid points here
