keep your lead foot pointing at the opponent, and keep your rear foot hidden behind your lead foot. Keep your opponent behind your Rifle,,, your Jab. When you throw the Jab, flick it out with your hip. Moves with your hip,s and not your shoulders.
This guy is a boxing genuis. I wish I would've discovered him years ago when I was fighting. Years ago boxing seemed like something that some guys just did better than others based on natural ability Marvin has opened up my eyes to see that boxing is truly an ART
That's just dumb stupid to ever think. Have you ever heard of Cus D'Amato training Mike Tyson since he was 13. It's in-part about natural ability and genetics but boxing styles win fights.
I know this video was made years ago but this is timeless boxing lessons. These mma guys dont know how privileged they're because this is 100 percent absolute boxing knowledge.
We have to spar at my Krav Maga class and we're all too busy standing still, trying not to get hit, so this is an excellent insight into a powerful move-Thanks Marvin.
Excellent advice and a wonderful display. I love how you just explain the tempo of things to get into the punch and the rhythm to setup the different positions to execute what you’re aiming for. Sound advice and a great video to observe
You really show a depth of knowledge in such short videos. Very insightful. I seen one where you discussed fighting being like chess, which it is, and you were right, because I watch the feet & it hasn't let me down. Ive developed something similar with my kicks to your right hand jab technique. This one watches your videos & finds more inspiration to keep training. You're side stepping is top notch. Keep it coming brother.
Foot work it very important you can punch hard but if you don't know how to move around the opponent its useless don't be a punching bag,in thankful I found his channel, you should also check out Ando sensei channel
Legitimately a master. Makes something so complicated, easy. Being disciplined, proper technique, and confidence in your game. This man is making me more dangerous in the ring and I can see it. Thank you sir.
at mark 1:36, it's Jab from 6 o clock position then Straight at 8 o clock? at mark 4:49, jabbing until you're in 9 o clock position then throw the straight?
I really like all the videos but I think I may be missing something on this video. I thought that circling towards the blind side was always the proper technique. I thought that circling towards the other guy's right hand was incorrect?
Most people will move away from your right. They sense it or its a slight bit telegraphed.. They jump back, it useful but info but it could give people wrong idea about jumping in.. something that looks good does not necessarily prove to be the best advice. It takes more than just videos. He is good and an excellent coach, but videos don't.show everything..

Marvin you're footwork is smoother than Micheal Jackson!

I agree even the training was a whole different ballgame
That's just dumb stupid to ever think. Have you ever heard of Cus D'Amato training Mike Tyson since he was 13. It's in-part about natural ability and genetics but boxing styles win fights.
This is not basic shit, this is key to your style of boxing
This dude is the coldest at teaching 💪🏿💪🏿
I know this video was made years ago but this is timeless boxing lessons. These mma guys dont know how privileged they're because this is 100 percent absolute boxing knowledge.
I'm learning so much shit watching these videos keep them coming.
Marvin breaks stuff down so thoroughly and easy to understand. you're awesome Marvin
It would be awesome to get a 2021 version of this video. (high definition) This one is pure gold Coach!
Respectfully
That's lead straight aka "disrespectful punch" is called getting Roy'ed LMAO 😂
Getting floyd
@@michelledrage7399 nah, Floyd’s shot is a pull counter, he doesn’t throw a pure lead straight, or at least not often.

Boxing: Position first then strike
Brazilian jijituse: Position before submission
Fighting is all angles man seriously get that angle or position and you’ll get what you need to get off without getting got
Excellent advice and a wonderful display.

A LOT of great info here.
Hey marvin you are amazing bro I would like to join your class where are you guys located
“Gain the position first then the punch. The punch is no good without the position .”
He's a excellent teacher with the jab .
Great Stuff!
Just like in jiu-jitsu they always say position before submission. I love this. This is amazing.
love this stuff
2:00 oh look Tank Davis is getting advice from Marvin too
DAMN!!! He's good
This guy is the man. I feel like Roy Jones did a lot of these things
Nice video
This man a legend
Move in. Set up little camp. Make your attacks. Get out if dangerous. Why leave your outpost if you dont have to?
that's a nice thinking (not sarcastic). where did you learn it?
just makes sense. Unless its time to gamble.
yes just defend your space
I wonder how it would look if he fought Floyd Mayweather. Now that would be entertainment. Both guys would dance and punch.

wisdom
If leading with the rear hand is a disrespectful punch then Manny Pacquiao disrespected the SHIT out of DeLaHoya. 😂
Great videos btw ! I'm binge watching them right now, you're an awesome teacher.

Fucking genius
What shoes he got on? Those black and white Jordan’s
That right hand while moving to the right....see Mayweather vs Gotti
So many gems
This is some of the best advice you can get to put someone down. If there asking for it of course.
Hi Marvin. Where are the positions for the hooks & uppercuts?
TheSweetScientist true boxing stance
Like.a.baseball swing
I thought this Sway back in the day
Marvin cook should’ve been on BAKI or street fighter
3:45- 4:12: This is how Canelo knocked the fuck out of Khan.....
