I love the skelatool, probably use it everyday. The addition of the hammer makes it even better. Only thing that I could recommend is to sell the hammer and screws together. Nice work.

I agree it is neat but it is one very small piece of metal seeing as how the entire skeletal with all the tools in it with a 25-year warranty is $75 unless you get the CX model which is about $90 $50 is a bit excessive to put one little thing on the end. But there are people out there that will pay so that's the reason why we have $100,000 pickup trucks because people will go by them

I just recently bought a skeletool and was kind of excited to see that there were some neat mods for it and I actually found this one and for the price point I believe this mod should come with the required screws. It should not be a separate purchase unless I misunderstanding something when I went to the website there was a disclaimer saying that you could not just buy the mod unless you went and bought the screw kit to attach it which seems kind of silly all that needs to be included at this price point because it's just one little piece of metal

  • @georgesutton7480

I just now received and installed a Hamma Jamma with black finish... Not too difficult to install. Hopefully it will be strong enough to stand up to the intended handtool usage. But the additional Leatherman tool bit holder does not allow any of my new or used Leatherman bits to be inserted. It will almost allow a flat bit to partially be inserted, but not at all any of the crosspoint bits. Probably the coating preventing it. Too bad.
Same with my Rescue Hammer V1... Leatherman bit holder is also useless. I strongly recommend that only plain hammers be used, without the Leatherman bit holder. Saves money that you can then use to buy a prybar or wedgebar. Well conceived and developed and glad I have them, but disappointed that I can't use the Leatherman bit holders. I have yet to try the other bit holders which are provided with the Hamma Jamma.

  • @jayjayhooksch1
    @jayjayhooksch1 Před 4 lety

The slimmer profile and reduced weight is an excellent trade off for the little bit of capability that the bulkier one provided, imo. The hex driver slot and extra Leatherman bit slot seem redundant on the skeletool, so really only giving up the pry tip.

@@MetroGradeGoods Thanks for answering. I ordered using the free shipping coupon even if I suspect is just for within USA, in case I guess someone will let me know... Shipping is often a problem. basically the hammer plus shipping is going to cost me more than the skeletool :-).

Man, the screws no added with the hammer is serious fuck up. I want to buy the hammer with shipping to Poland, I won't pay extra 14 dollars for 2 screws from the different shop from Canada. The main problem is with M2x5 brass insert, impossible to buy anywhere else.

So I just ordered on for my skeltool. Any Chace you could seed me the mounting hardware that is required. The links you provide is going to charge me 16$ just to ship to me. And I don't need 25 sets of hardware.

Contact me via Shapeways so I can send you a set of hardware. I need your address.

Why not add the install hardware as part of the kit. Save on shipping for the consumers

Nice finish and quality, although being 1/2 the cost of the Skeletool itself, is a bit pricy. Would be nice if you could get the production cost down and maybe sell it for $29... although at $24.99 it would be MUCH more enticing.

Recent material price hikes on Shapeways pushed the price up a lot more than I would have liked. It's mostly manufacturing costs so despite your suggestions, I can't make it more affordable.

@@MetroGradeGoods yes that's the only thing that doesn't feel right about this mod, I just bought a limited edition black and silver skeletool mint, on eBay 50.00! And this hammer is 50.00 with shipping and hardware maybe more, it's not about the money it doesn't make sense you can get a new skeletool for the cost of the hammer, I still might drop the money anyway, my only question is, do they all come with that skull logo printed on them?

First of all who will buy your item if the screws don’t come with it? Secondly for the price there shouldn’t be any grinding on our tool. Third the machinist don’t de bur the item? I know this is a new idea but for the money these three things is a must. I will definitely buy in the future but I’ll hold off a little while. Awesome idea though!

I actually feel this defeats the entire purpose of the Skeletool. The entire point of the Skeletool is that it's one of the more lightweight Leathermans. By doing this you're just making it heavy like the other ones.

This horrifically dangerous. Someone will try to drive or break something, they WILL inevitably miss and hit the side of their hand on that something injuring their hand. God forbid they attempt to break glass with this, are successful, and their exposed wrist is now passing thru the broken glass edges.
Ever wonder why no major tool makers sell this attachment?
Nicely executed but supremely dangerous. Good luck with your impending lawsuits.

Shapeways is not our company, it is a 3d printing service that hosts designs and use their own technology to provide designs and make them available to the public. It is not the best system, but it is A system. There is no better or easier way to attach these hammers to the Skeletool, hence why we offer the hardware instead of leaving the user hanging.
