  • In this video we dive into a head-to-head comparison between two cabinet paints: the Sherwin Williams™ Gallery Series and Renner Wood Coatings™ 765 at 4 wet mills.
    Our tests reveal that Renner Wood Coatings™ 765 emerges as the clear winner, boasting superior qualities and performance across multiple key factors.
    Firstly, we'll examine the thickness and hiding power of the two. The Gallery Series by Sherwin Williams™ falls short in this area, proving to be thinner and less opaque compared to the Renner product.
    Renner Wood Coatings™ 765 showcases an impressive vertical hang, ensuring a more even and professional finish on your cabinets. On the other hand, the Gallery Series struggles to match up, resulting in a subpar vertical application.
    Pack and stack time is another critical aspect. The Gallery Series necessitates a 24-hour waiting period before stacking, while Renner's 765 is half the time at only 12 hours.
    Sherwin Williams™ recommends 2-3 coats of their Gallery Series, whereas Renner Wood Coatings™ 765 offers exceptional coverage with just one coat.
    Whether you're a professional painter or a DIY enthusiast, this video is a must-watch before tackling your next cabinet painting project.

    On screen it doesn't seem like a fair comparison. with S-W you give 2 passes and it seems that you press hard. Sw is white from the can and the other has tint . I'm a fan of renner but it doesn't seem fair

  • @haroldsalcido7735
    @haroldsalcido7735 Před rokem +14

    Bad comparison. You clearly put more Renner down to pull down. Then you didn't drag the mill gage from top to bottom like you did on gallery. Be fair or don't do comparisons. I haven't used either product but this video wasn't fair.

    SW doesn't say there product is comparable to 765 so why put out a video like you are proving them wrong. They compare it to your 1245 1k, you know, a similar product. This makes me think Renner should be worried if you don't want to be fair in your assessment. Your products are decent but you have to wait on custom colors, you have to wait on shipping, tint is extra, stores are sparse at best and the product costs more. Thats just too much trouble. For those who haven't tried the Gallery paint should try it and make their own decision. I bet you will like it.

    • @finefinishsupply
      @finefinishsupply  Před rokem +2

      1245 is actually higher in solids than 765 (44%) and recommended as a one coat system as well. The only thing that's really comparable is the stack time at 24 hours. I only sell Renner Italia so no way to compare them side by side. Also, tint is extra because it is always accurate. Renner distributors should not be dropping formulas and handing to a customer without first checking for accuracy via a Photo spectrometer. Most colors have to be corrected 1-2 times for accuracy. Also, my customers are paying $130 a gallon for Gallery (certapro franchise) that's is $20 higher than 765 and $40 higher than what other distributors are charging for 1245 ( $78) I do however sell 005 which is a 1k acrylic sold at $89 I can compare it to.

      Yeah if you look at it he also tinted the 765 so that it has better precived coverage. Renners coverage out of the can with their NTR bases isn’t any better than that product.
