- The Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, who scammed the government and investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars was recently set to start her eleven-year prison sentence, but instead is on a beach front property in Del Mar.
Elizabeth Holmes was once dubbed the next Steve Jobs, the world's youngest self made billionaire - now, convict. The 39-year-old was convicted last year of defrauding investors. Theranos was her blood testing start-up in Silicon Valley. It claimed to revolutionize blood testing. Just a few drops could detect an array of things, but that technology turned out to be untrue.

Its not even just stealing money (which was the only thing she was sentenced for). Her company contaminated or messed up the blood results of patients. It had real term consequences, such as cancer suffers getting false negatives and non-cancer sufferers getting false positives.

Two systems? Better believe it. Paris had multiple cocaine felonies, multiple DUIs, and drove on a suspended license multiple times. She did a grand total of a weekend in jail. Ain't the system great? (I mean the rich-people one, not the one for the rest of us.)

If she had pled guilty and surrendered she would be at least half way through her sentence, if not more, by now.
Interesting thought, but I think it took a few years before it even got to court, and no-one knew how long the sentence was going to be. Many predicted four or five years at most, some said no time at all. The 11-year-sentence was actually a shock to almost everyone, and certainly not something anyone was expecting. I guess all this time, since the collapse in 2016 when she stopped talking to the media, she could have done time in jail expecting a significant sentence, but it's also probably difficult to consult with her legal team while incarcerated.

This calculating chick is a manipulative, calculating, professional con-artist, that believes she is always to 2 steps ahead (and he literally is)...She timed her 1st pregnancy to coincide with her 1st trial n then coincided the with her sentencing. She will offf prison as long as possible n then the second she actually enters, her attorney is going to start petitioning the court for home arrest b/c of the 2 toddlers are despondent with the loss of their mother. We are talking about a 15 yrs con were billions flowed. She was slick b/c she lived well, but did not acquire yatchs, mansions, pvt jets (that wld have been ceased when her con was inevitably discovered). However, individuals that live a first class lifestyle have 0 desire to live anything but a 1st class lifestyle, This chick stashed away millions....She is now living comfortably in a $8m beach front manion while waiting the status of her appeal, praying Trump gets back into office so that he can pardon her.
Why isn’t she in jail. Every time she gets close to her incarceration she gets pregnant. Holmes is spoiled, thinks she’s entitled to different treatment from other people. She is narcissistic, unrepentant and would do the same thing all over again because she thinks she’s smarter than everybody else. She’s not smarter. In fact she doesn’t even have a college degree because she thought she was too smart for science and math courses at Stanford. Throw her bony a__ in jail for defrauding investors and for the risks she exposed real patients to.

This is ridiculous, how many fu**ing appeals does she get? She delayed her prison sentence and gets to spend it in pretty much the country club equivalent of prisons? Our justice system is corrupt as hell.
Not a violent offender, not technically a thief, a debatable fraudster (convicted but with a reasonable case for not being fraudulent), didn't spend the money on luxuries (just employed others, so nothing much in that for her), didn't pay anyone to physically harm or threaten anyone's life - meets all the criteria for minimum security.
It will certainly make the US Justice System look like a joke if she does less than 50% of her sentence (actually it's 9.5 years non-parole period) because if a court sentences someone, it's not a trivial matter. There's no real way out of it, other than new exculpatory evidence that wasn't submitted to the court at the time of the proceedings.
Everyone is so quick to judge. Not a lot of people who knows what really happened.

There are two justice systems in the United States. One for the wealthy and well-connected, and the other for the rest of us. If you are wealthy and well-connected, you could kill somebody and avoid prison. However, one minor crime, which is easy to do with all of the laws passed, could wreck your life.
What if she believed it could be done? She hired many top notch people tp make it happen. A loot of start ups fail and investors lot their money. So what? Why is this a crime? You have to prove that she knew it could not be done.
I am so looking forward to the Elizabeth Holmes, Jodi Arias, Dalia Pippolito, Charle Javice pay-per-view Tickle Fight and Oil Wrestling Events...I can wait no longer.
Hm. I wonder what she's doing, as the appeals run their course. People, like her, have to do these things to stay out of prison. It's not like she has a choice. You know? It's just not a possibility, Elizabeth Holmes surrenders herself, when she could be out for a little while longer, or longer than that. We haven't seen a lot of people like her. There's gonna be a lot of people wanting a 'money shot' from these two, and this dire situation is not enough? I think she'll do well in minimum security, but maybe she won't ever have to do any time. This idea of less blood equals advancement way into the future is funny, for people, who give blood or have been given blood, or people who get shots every month. 'Less blood' is this idea to put money into for a 'set' type of person, Murdoch, Schulz, Clinton. You know? People who think 'their' blood is different than everyone else's. I don't really think it's a disservice for Holmes to point that out to us. She could probably write an interesting autobiography with a chapter about how she always knew what makes these billionaire megalomaniacs think, and how they always gave her advice and things she wanted.
It's obvious that she's preparing to move to Mexico to avoid doing time. Why else would she be in San Diego? She bought a one-way ticket to Mexico after her sentence but got caught so that plan's scratched; the plan now is to drive to Mexico. She's not dumb. Unfortunately, her husband is among her victims b/c he drank her kool-aid and still hasn't 'come to'. Ohhh well, some ppl have to learn the hard way 😂

It is more about privilege. She was found guilty, sentenced to 11 years, wasn't immediately taken into custody, and was ordered to turn herself in by April 27th. There was a hearing to delay the start, and the judge refused to delay starting her sentence. Then some other appeal was filed and magically she gets to stay out of prison indefinitely? That has all sorts of wrong written all over it. If you or I stile $700 million dollars, we would be whisked away to federal prison so fast it would make your head spin, but somehow she is special and doesn't have to go to prison?
