Word! Great composer and player. Bassist Dan moved on and started Tonbruket, which is a personal favourite along with EST (if you haven't, check out Tonbruket, it's some top notch jazz-rock) It was a sad day when we got to know about Esbjörn's passing. I heard once "Tuesday Wonderland", then got a hold of a few albums... sold for life. I'd be tempted to say he's "underrated" but anyone familar ith the music will rate him accordingly. That trio was on FIRE all the time, in the studio and live.
This man made the best muisc to ever hit my ears - I was fortunat enough to get him and his band to sign my tickets in 2007 Buxton Theatre UK, and still own tickets for the Brecon Jazz concert 2008 which never took place due to the absence of this great man.
Fabulous interview, thank you so much for sharing it 🙏 What a great musician/composer and such a beautiful personality! Been listening to his music for years, I’m a big fan. RIP Esbjorn
A Genius!...not doubt, & one of my favourite piano-composer, remember me a lot the style of Keith Jarrett, I met Esbjorn six years ago, & listen your music every single day
He was indeed humble. I met him in 2007 in Budapest after their concert (best concert in my life), and I said him: "i really enjoyed the concert." he said:" Thank you for listening" and gave me a BIG smile. His charisma was like sunshine. He also gave me autograph to their smiling picture along with Magnus Öström and Dan Berglund.
Thank you for sharing. I have been hoping to find an interview with Esbjorn and a piano, just talking about music. It's a nice intimate look at an amazing musician.
It just struck me that both Esbjörn and Lyle Mays had very similar and fearless approaches to keyboards. No wonder Metheny joined EST for a few gigs. I miss Esbjörn and Lyle so much. Absolute legends.
No hablo inglés, pero creo que dijo, chau universidade, chau conservatorio, chau técnica, chau formalismos. Si no dijo eso, entonces yo lo digo. Esse cara é ótimo.
He really was very very special.
And his loss still hurts so many of us so much.

He is pure music! He is a genius, but I love how humble he was too!
The world was blessed with this trio and by Esbjörn Svensson in particular. Namaste...
He was the best of us all. Thanks for this wonderful tiny window to his soul.
I saw you play live and met you only once - but I will never forget you and your beautiful music, Esbjorn..you left us far too soon.

Rest in peace beautiful man 🙏
“Sometimes I don’t even have time to take care of all these new ideas”
Absolutely heartbreaking sentiment, to hear how much more he could’ve become…
Tack Grzegorz!
Just brilliant! Rest in peace
Россия плачет о тебе, ты будешь всегда в наших сердцах!
thanks for posting the video, he (and the Trio) is my favorite player... can't live without their music
What a humble man!

Lucky you! ;)

This intervew is awesome. Who did this? I really need to know! It's very important.
Genialny dokument! Piękne dzięki za udostępnienie. Dobrze rozumiem, że został nagrany w Zabrzu? Jak do tego doszło?
He is very sympathetic :D
Brividi
what is the tune at 7:42?
Beatiful video
Does anybody know what's he's playing near the end? At 24:09 is it improvisation?
All the great improvisers say the same thing about the process of making music in the moment.

16:58 experimental rocks!
Pablo how you can met him.... is dead in 2008...
The only way to meet someone is in person?
Pablo Hernandez, touché
He has less respect for jazz than any jazz musician I have ever heard. I don't even understand why he even did it.
