Disney Lorcana is experiencing one of the most wild markets I have ever seen. With people looking to build lorcana meta decks as well as play with all the starter products, I did not see the sales comparing as well as they have to games like Magic the Gathering and Flesh and Blood. Lorcana is even getting close to Pokemon in some areas - let's talk about the lorcana market.

I agree that MTG is #1... but I started MTG back when it began and it was Very vanilla. Very fun but very vanilla. Just keep that in mind. Give Lorcana some time. I wouldn't put it in the same bucket with Pokemon. Not that there's anything wrong with Pokemon I collect that too, but in my opinion the gameplay, over time, will be more in line with MTG than Pokemon. And if it's a bit simplistic in comparison for a while, I'd actually consider that a positive.

I will say that for a game less than a year old, to get 2048 folks playing in ATL and another 1024 in CHI this weekend, it isn't bad. The top players are folks that came from other games, and seeing Frank win in Lille with his reputation in tcgs it is clear this is an attractive space for competitive game players. I will say their inability to understand the value of their "prize wall" to value a limited promo card at 1/2 of a hat or shirt, when one resells for 250 plus and nobody is paying that for a Lorcana hat.
I will say the reality of the Set Championships showed that there are Disney competitive players, largely supplemented by PB and that ability to test and build the meta decks before events his huge. We locally see a lot of team and competitive players from other games have moved over because no matter what the intention of Ravensburger was with Set Championships when you dangle a card with a $650 value and playmats with a couple hundred dollars in value and grinders will come into the game to chase and flip those.
I am a first time tcg players with Lorcana, but after the first round of the Set Championships, I will approach the next round differently. I also think PB going away will make it tougher on grinders to spend hours and hours playing online. Only time will tell but I am excited to see what happens this weekend in Chicago with Set 4 being legal.

Fun video. Thanks. I have to ask why don't we talk about Bruno? Are you opening the box for yourself or for a patron?
