    This stomp squat is a great squat modification if you have osteoporosis and are looking to build bone strength. High impact exercise has been shown by the research to be effective in making change to bone strength. Try this exercise at bodyweight or if you are feeling ambitious and master bodyweight, you can also add weight! Osteoporosis and osteoarthritis can exist together so this is one way to prevent osteoporosis or to manage it with osteoarthritis.

    Alyssa, please keep your osteoporosis exercises coming.
    I am refusing all pharmaceutical meds that kill the bones. I am taking all of the suplements that re-grow bones. I am in year 2 of the 6 it will take to re-grow my bones to be more dense bones. And its true. In the first month i began to feel the difference. You can strengthen your bones thru weight bearing exercise and the RIGHT SUPPLEMENTS. Thank you, I love your osteoporosis shows. ❤

    I love uncomplicated exercises that look more like fun than exercise. My question is, which bones are these making stronger? Is this for the leg bones and/or the hip bones? Or does it help the spine as well? And I take it by "stronger bones," you mean increasing bone density.

    • @arthritisadventure
      @arthritisadventure  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Primarily the hip joint. Weightbearing can also help to strengthen the spine.

  • @anitazuck

    Thanks, Alyssa. Wondering if stomp squats are okay when you've had a total knee replacement. I definitely needed the added "oomph" of a stomp to my squats for bone-building but am concerned about not compromising my bionic knee.

    • @arthritisadventure
      @arthritisadventure  Před rokem +1

      It depends if you notice any sweeping, significant pain, warmth in the joint etc. The movement isn’t inherently bad but it’s about how your body responds

    I really like your videos and think you provide excellent information. Thank you!
    Just a side note: the curled up corner of the area rug extending into your workout demonstration area could be a very dangerous trip hazard for someone with osteoporosis. Even the uneven surface (with a foot partially on the rug) could be problematic for someone with poor balance. Those of us with osteoporosis need to be very cautious with such hazards. Thanks again for your information!

      Tom START with Costco's Collagen with Peptides. I buy the bright pink and the sky blue box packaging. Powder that is $23-$29 for a 3 month supply.
      It stopped my hip and knee pains in 3 days! I nearly feel like I don't need the hip replacement after 2 years.
