This stomp squat is a great squat modification if you have osteoporosis and are looking to build bone strength. High impact exercise has been shown by the research to be effective in making change to bone strength. Try this exercise at bodyweight or if you are feeling ambitious and master bodyweight, you can also add weight! Osteoporosis and osteoarthritis can exist together so this is one way to prevent osteoporosis or to manage it with osteoarthritis.

Yes finished it . I’m 71 and have osteoarthritis but you are helping so much. Thank you so much🙏
Great job! You're so welcome.
Thank you, I love your osteoporosis videos. 😍. Please keep them coming.
Glad you like them!!
Alyssa, please keep your osteoporosis exercises coming.
I am refusing all pharmaceutical meds that kill the bones. I am taking all of the suplements that re-grow bones. I am in year 2 of the 6 it will take to re-grow my bones to be more dense bones. And its true. In the first month i began to feel the difference. You can strengthen your bones thru weight bearing exercise and the RIGHT SUPPLEMENTS. Thank you, I love your osteoporosis shows. ❤
What are the right supplements?
@@juliegonzalez9843Calcium, Vitamin D and Vitamin K2. Some women may be prescribed HRT as bone loss can occur after menopause. Best to always talk to your doctor, rather than the internet though 😊
Love your video. Did it. Plan to keep doing these. Thanks!
I like that this is adaptable for people with disabilities.
I thought this video was great, so simple and so focused on solving osteoporosis. Thank you
Yay that’s awesome!
Hi Alyssa. I just finished this workout. Thanks for doing all these videos for us.
you're welcome! hope it felt good
Love your energy! Thanks for these helpful videos. 😉
♥️♥️♥️
Looks like fun, I'm gonna try it😻
Your exercises and videos are fantastic. I have both osteoporosis and some osteoarthritis. I am determined to control my osteoporosis without meds. Thank you! Please keep them coming.
I'm glad you like them!
Thank you 😊 💓
THANKS !
Thank you💕
Welcome!
I love it!!!!🙏🙏🙏
Great! Glad you like it.
@arthritisadventure thank you for this video! How about for upper extremities? Should we drum, or clap hands, hit table to create the impact this is so important to rebuild bone density in the lower extremities and spine?
Hi Alyssa! I like your videos. Now I question about this video
This exercise only those people can do who have osteoporosis or any one can do for strong healthy bones
👋 👋. Would this help strengthen my femur leg bones? Thank-you
Does it make a difference if you stomp on the floor or on carpet?...barefoot or with shoes on? Thanks very much. 🙂
I love uncomplicated exercises that look more like fun than exercise. My question is, which bones are these making stronger? Is this for the leg bones and/or the hip bones? Or does it help the spine as well? And I take it by "stronger bones," you mean increasing bone density.
Primarily the hip joint. Weightbearing can also help to strengthen the spine.
Thanks, Alyssa. Wondering if stomp squats are okay when you've had a total knee replacement. I definitely needed the added "oomph" of a stomp to my squats for bone-building but am concerned about not compromising my bionic knee.
It depends if you notice any sweeping, significant pain, warmth in the joint etc. The movement isn’t inherently bad but it’s about how your body responds
Are ankle weights useful?
A weighted vest would be good too!
Yes it can be!
Did I hear you say in another video that you also have a channel for osteoarthritis?
Thank you. Are hiking and walking good to prevent osteoporosis?
They can be! Weightbearing exercise can be really effective. Combining with resistance training can maximize benefits
I really like your videos and think you provide excellent information. Thank you!
Just a side note: the curled up corner of the area rug extending into your workout demonstration area could be a very dangerous trip hazard for someone with osteoporosis. Even the uneven surface (with a foot partially on the rug) could be problematic for someone with poor balance. Those of us with osteoporosis need to be very cautious with such hazards. Thanks again for your information!
Glad you like them! This isn’t my usually workout spot- we were getting construction done on our basement so I resorted to upstairs. Thanks for pointing that out though!
This may not be in your area of expertise but do you know if this stomp squat is safe for women who also have pelvic floor issues?
Great video! How many pounds do you suggest for a beginner?
Yay! First I would start with bodyweight and then you can start with something light like 5 lbs to make sure it feels okay
Can I deal with a weighted belt?
What bone density exercises can you recommend for someone who cannot jump, run or skip due to having knee problems?
Tom START with Costco's Collagen with Peptides. I buy the bright pink and the sky blue box packaging. Powder that is $23-$29 for a 3 month supply.
It stopped my hip and knee pains in 3 days! I nearly feel like I don't need the hip replacement after 2 years.
@@teresa9760 thanks Teresa
can you please identify the research this is based on??
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28975661/
Can those of us with DDD do these stomps safely. I have both OA and OP. I’m looking for exercise that will becsafe and effective for both. Thanks!
It really depends on how it feels for you.
@@arthritisadventure so far so good. My low back pain when gardening has improved too!
But I have bone in bone knee arthritis. Should I be stomping?

Funny I just did a walking video and stomped throughout and I was fine!
the edge of that carpet is giving me anxiety
Gawd my bone on bone knees hurts just watching you stomp
My program can help!
Cool! I have osteoporosis and have been trying to do exercises to maintain my bone density. I haven't lost any bone density after 3 years, thanks to some exercises plus calcium + vit d. I work with a physical therapist for balance, strength training, and will send her your full osteoporosis exercise routine. Jenny🦴🦵💙

Also take Collagen with Peptides. I get mine at Costco for $23 for 3 month supply. Blue packaging one. I take all the supplements and it's helping.❤
Did I hear you say in another video that you also have a channel for osteoarthritis?
Yes this channel includes videos for both osteoarthritis and osteoporosis
@@arthritisadventure gotcha, Thanks
