The colored soles are perfect for dressing down with jeans. I work in a tattoo studio and dressing well seems to eliminate the haggling and makes me more confident.

Love how the Strandmok looks! At least the brown/red version. I like the black/blue version too but it seems that might be a little less versatile.
I love this style. Specially ordered the browns today, but they only had the black/blue in store for for fitting. Those looked nice too.

Great review ! I love all my AE shoes/boots ! I have the exact same pair and love them . They are a very versatile shoe can be dressed up or down and are very very comfortable and talk about durable . They are fully recraftable meaning if you take care of them they will last forever !
This threads the line between casual and formal so perfectly. I've found their soft calfskin and relatively comfortable cork soles to be worth it. Their Cogac, or tan, is what I would go with, but I have enough of their black shoes to fill my needs. Buy the blacks first and then explore the pallet of browns.

I do love these shoes as well although I wish they were fully lined. You have to go to the Strand to get fully lined versions. and I agree with a few other observations on here. Always use shoe horns with a shoe of this caliber

Nice looking shoes. One thing Iv noticed about AE shoe trees is that they are identical to Joseph a bank shoe trees. They clearly use the same shoe tree Company.
Jason Hallman Allen Edmonds owns Woodlore shoe trees and JA Banks private labels them . So yes, they are the same . Nordstrom Rack also sells them very inexpensively

I have the exact same pair, but I found out that when the shoe scratches, a dark brown shoe cream cannot "dye" it back as it doesn't absorb the polish color well (my shoe cream works well on my all other AE shoes). How do you polish the color back on this specific pair? Thanks.
I know this is an old comment. These shoes are designed to have a “reverse burnish” construction. They are designed to get lighter when scratched or rubbed. The leather underneath the topcoat is a completely lighter color. I’m sorry, you can’t get it back the same color. Well, you can if you remove the top coat and then redye the whole shoe the original color.
Hey if you’re still looking for an answer, try using mink oil or dubbin. That should fix it.
