Flooding creates havoc for Greymouth

The fire service in Greymouth was inundated today responding to widespread flooding in the area. Heavy rain in the region caused significant flooding which closed several roads putting some properties and homes at risk of being affected. While the Greymouth central business district is now open, police are warning motorists to beware as they drive through surface flooding as it could surge into nearby properties and travel should be avoided if it's not necessary.
