Actually no, it’s super pleasant, barely an annoyance.
My friend would never stop talking at people who were obviously trying to escape, and one day I asked him if he had difficulty noticing social cues. His reply was that he notices the cues, but he doesn't like what he sees so he ignores it.
Probably won't be long before other people learn to ignore him back.

If you're in Daniel's position, just be frank with people. "Hey, I don't mean to be an ass, but I don't have a lot of time left on my break and I'd really like to be able to eat my sandwich. Is there any chance this conversation can wait until later?" 99% of the time people will respond with some variation of "Oh, yeah sure man, I totally understand, no worries." I honestly never thought I would end up being a teacher…but I do work at a daycare as an assistant teacher, and every one calls me Miss Pikachu, because I used to always wear a Pikachu sweater when I started working there…never worked with kids before, except in high school for peer-helping. Little to no experience in early childhood teaching, everyone was so mean to me at first, but instead of just quitting, I tried harder and getting better at doing things, and now everyone loves me!

However when you look at the fine print of their contract agreement it says that there is no guarantee that the person you will ve paired with will have any license in therapy. I never personally singned up for it, but a friend of mine did and let's just say....they advise everyone else to NOT try them because it's definitely not proper therapy.

We ask him if there's anything we can pick up at the store for him. Instead he's telling his life story. Tell him we have to go, we have an appointment we can't be late to. Continues blathering from his sister to our neighbor in the hospital to about how he likes hearing my rooster crowing because it's nostalgic. This isn't the first time. He is completely inconsiderate and it drives me wild. You legit just have to say bye and walk away ignoring him. Feels terrible to do, though.
