    Maybe it is not an issue in most of California, where it freezes, any kind of door handle automatic presentation is likely to be a problem, and I have heard that is the case on the S and X. I'll stick with the stock door handles. I live in Missouri, and you showed me!

The rear doors do not sit flush when the door is completely closed. I anticipate I’ll have to remove all of it and put the factory stuff back in. And I can’t in good faith charge the client to do that. Such a waste of time for me as well as time, money, and effort for the client.

    Hansshow, I think, has some of the most expensive but innovative products in the tesla aftermarket. But, with questionable reliability and feature functionality inconsistencies in their line of products (i.e. automatic frunk opener/closer). It terrifies me from ever purchasing without fully investigating what others experiences were like with them, such as these door gadgets. To this day, I have not owned a single Hansshow brand In my model y and I've done quite a bit. Everything that has the Hansshow brand just feels like a buyer trap, half-baked ideas that does not feel ready for prime time.

    With the standard door handles, do you always touch the handle with your finger to present the handle and then grab it to open the door? I would touch the handle with my thumb in the appropriate spot and almost simultaneously grab the presented handle with my fingers and open the door in one smooth opening procedure. Perhaps you are doing it your way for demonstration purposes.....just curious.

    Tesla mobile service just replaced my 12V battery as the system indicated it was needing replacement. Prior to the service however, the weak 12V caused several problems like the windows not going up completely and the app sending me frequent notifications that windows were left open. While your issues might not be related to your 12V battery, the self-presenting hardware could cause the window regulators to get out of calibration. There are several videos here on CZcams touching on Tesla window regulator calibration that might be helpful to you.

Just want to confirm, aside from the poor fit alignment, the Hansshow ones are still every bit as functional as the OEM handles right? As in, you were never not able to open your door? Yeah too glitchy for me. I have the Hanshow frunk/trunk and it's "Ok" also. 95% of the time it works fine. But randomly the frunk will refuse to close if it has been open for a while. It makes the noise and pulls but won't drop. It freaked me out because I thought it was going to bend the hood. I manually pushed it down and cycled it a few times and it reset. Power trunk works good except for the fact that the trunk dome light never goes fully off. It draws very little so I don't care, but noticed it one night when we Tesla camped in it. The installer said it is because it's connected to the wiring harness and it draws very little power. I just wish the car had them installed that way from factory. Aftermarket stuff just never seems perfect.

This soft closure looks like we are getting lazier and lazier and soon we will say open the door, close the door, give middle finger to the lady who just cut me off as she was texting and driving and other silly voice commands that will come to us so we can be lazier day by day. What's next? Hansshow presents you with the "NEW" fake arms on steering wheel so you don't have to worry about Autopilot interrupting your social media skills as you are supposed to be driving!

    I would remove that immediately. Is there any safety concerns with this, like can you manually open it from inside?

    Don’t think the window issue has anything to do with the door mod… I’ve seen completely stock Tesla’s that had that glitch.

    Hi, I am planning on buying this kit for my Y, do you still recommend it ? Thx

    • @FrugalTeslaGuy
      @FrugalTeslaGuy  Před 3 lety

      Absolutely! However, I recommend the package from EV Offer/AMP Tech. There may be similarities between the two but EV Offer/AMP Tech make it their own and make adjustments to the design so it will perform better and longer. I’m actually having the soft closing doors and presenting handles installed in about a week and will have a complete video about the process and how they work.

      Definitely a possibility. The Hansshow hardware is not waterproof and if any water gets in there it could create problems. That being said, the hardware should be water proof or at the very least water resistant.

    And that will Present a voided warranty...Let Tesla do the engineering, we'll do the driving. This aftermarket device does not seem so $frugal, sounds pricey, unless you're passing up an S to $ave. I think I will wait for you to test the after market model X doors with the spacers for the model 3 and "weather" opening the antiquated OEM door handle for now. This begs the question, why would you not just open the passenger door for your wife? Seems this product also adds about 10 pounds of cabling and motors along with frustration. Glad you showed what not to buy. Thanks

    Personally if it’s connected into the vehicle Canbus and is behaving like this I would remove it as it clearly hasn’t been thoroughly tested and may be affecting the vehicle in other ways that obvious.

    Sweet Sagan, self-presenting is possibly the worst feature to adopt from model S. Even the Tesla version is notorious for breaking on the model S. Why would anyone want this to be more complex?
