    The culture differences surrounding food and health is so interesting. In high school, I worked at a grocery store that employed foreign exchange students from Europe and I'll never forget when one of them was completely shocked by the size of a customer she had seen. She wasn't being mean, but literally had never seen a person close to that size. She was even more shocked when I was completely unamused because I've seen people that size and bigger a million times. Years later, I spent 3 weeks in Poland and was amazed at how people would go to the market every morning to get fresh produce for the day. Spending that time there changed my eating habits for the better.

      i live and have lived my whole life in morocco, but i have an american dad, and a lot of american friends, yet its still shocking to me how bizarre (no offense) americas foods and way of eating is, like how common takeout is while here its a once in a while thing, not because of finances but bc ppl here just..cook, we all go to the farmers markets for most ingredients (unless its flour or snacks etc) but for veggies and fruits we go to the farmers market, and bread is baked at home most of the time, we get eggs from the chicken market and meat from the butcher shop not the grocery store etc. then make homemade meals nearly everyday for every meal especially for people who live with families. so i just dont understand why this is so difficult to maintain in the us or why fresh ingredients and such are so much more expensive than shitty grocery store plastic food

    • @HARTHEFOX
      @HARTHEFOX Před rokem +11

      @@JoshHutchersonOfficial The ingredients listed for Velveeta are: milk, water, whey, milk protein concentrate, milkfat, whey protein concentrate, sodium phosphate, and 2% or less of salt, calcium phosphate, lactic acid, sorbic acid, sodium citrate, sodium alginate, enzymes, apocarotenal, annatto, and cheese culture.
      A cheese culture is basically a "cheese starter" kinda like how yeast is a starter for bread. So it's mostly just preservatives, dehydrated milk, and the stuff you need to start making cheese. That's why it's not "officially" listed as cheese. It still melts around like, I think 70 degrees or so, which is why room temp is usually fine.

    Europe has a lot of VERY similar foods that you say is not a thing in Europe. For example the mashed potato cups are sold in Europe under Maggi and Knorr with the same idea. It is powder potato and you just put boiling water from a kettle instead of cold water and then microwave it. We have flavored breads too.. Of course we are not putting cheese and ham on a banana bread or chocolate raisin bread. Velveeta cheese is just small pieces of American cheese separately wrapped and found in every European shop which is popular too. We have many varieties of those small box snacks from savory to sweet.

    They DO make cinnamon bread without raisins... you can find several brands just at Walmart. It is amazing plain or with a touch of butter. My grandpa always used it to make a sausage sandwich for breakfast. Also, I grew up on Chicken in a Biscuit because my mom LOVED them. We always had them with cream cheese spread on top.

      bang energy drinks are so so so bad for you though. like absolutely horrible. if you want a good energy drink/ workout stuff, try bucked up. they’re amazing, the energy drinks actually have good quality ingredients that aren’t going to slowly kill you.
      trust me, i’ve done chemistry experiments on bang energy and i’ve talked to several people who have done research on bang energy ingredients, they’re horrible.
      also they recently got sued by Monster Energy for having absolutely horrible ingredients that have been the cause to deaths. paid 430 million

    lmao I refuse to buy Velveeta because I've heard of how fake it is (hence being a "cheese product" not kept in the fridge) but wow after his reaction, I might reconsider. You always learn something new everyday, even in your own country! 😄
    *EDIT: I just got to the dipping snacks part of the video, and his reaction to the pretzel sticks breaking his tooth cracked me up. I don't know what pretzels are like in Europe, but pretzel snacks here are always hard and crunchy. If you want the stadium type of pretzel, you are looking for a SOFT pretzel. They are way bigger with big salt crystals and usually you dip it in a loose cheese sauce, lol

    Loved this video so much. You discovering all the different American food reminds me of when I moved to England and discovered all the various food they had that was new to me. If nobody has stated it yet those Graham cracker pie crusts are for puddings and cream cheese pies and do not need to be baked. The canned pie filings you have are meant for the frozen pie crusts that you can find in the frozen section in any grocery store. You will be totally unhappy if you use the wrong type of pie crust for those canned fruits you bought.
