@@arafatulhoque8375 if you’re going to college I can suggest you to pursue a bachelor degree in computer science, on your way you can get some experience as software engineer or web developer, once you get your bachelor you can go for a master in cybersecurity, this career path will ensure that you become a desired professional in such area alongside proper experience, keep in mind it all depends on your effort and discipline, additionally, you can learn this by yourself but is as risky as it may seem to be, not everyone is capable of self learning this amount of information.
Thank you!!! People have to comprehend this …Cybersecurity and the whole entirety of tech require hands-on skills. Knowledge of concepts is cool but can you compile what you learned and facilitate a virtual or on-premise home network lab with security methodologies? For example, can you configure/deploy a firewall, EDR, IDS/IPS tools can you troubleshoot various endpoints, are you willing to read a plethora amount of documentation on the tools required and that’s like 30% of the task. IT is a lucrative field but it’s not a cash grab and should be respected just like any other notable industry
I get that. But I busted my ass for over 10 years to barely cap out at $50,000. If you're telling me I can start a little higher than that and in 2-5 years get double? I get that you want to set realistic expectations. But where a lot of people see "omg you get paid 65k for 45 hours of work and you have to work really hard for 2-3 years before they let you get six figures" like that's slave labor. People like me who actually worked 60-80 hours for pennies, that sounds like heaven.
I've got 4 years of IT experience (2 of them on HelpDesk, 2 as a Security Analyst). If I didn't have my certifications, I would not have gotten to this position/salary this quickly. No way. Certs are absolutely worth it if you're young and want to shoot past the competition.

I made six figures straight out of my cybersecurity boot camp. This guy is knowledgeable but he’s a little bit of a hater. It’s all about how you sell yourself. Get your certs but also work on labs and build your hands on skills. I was overemployed making 220k fresh out my bootcamp. Never let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do. I do agree though it will be a TON of work. You have to grind hard af. But it is possible
I got to six figures in my first role before graduating and only had one cert. But I also recognize that that’s an anomaly. A lot of people out here are more capable than I am and working just as hard or harder and didn’t come across the same opportunity. I’d never sell to somebody that you can do exactly what I did, because it’s not realistic. This video is reality for most people. People who want to get into cybersecurity for the money need to see more vids like this and have the wake up call that one cert won’t magically write you a six figure check.
Hi there, I hope you see this and get a response from you. Please I really want to register for a cyber security boot camp but I have no idea or to apply for these courses. Could you share how to go about this please?
Well said, same here first role was six figures in GRC. I didn't expect it but my husband and I were financially stable enough not to start at the bottom. My greatest assets are networking & research. I went to conferences, sold myself, and got the offer. I use my cybersecurity money to buy more real estate.
You are correct about this video. Been in IT and currently a senior network analyst. Depends on the company you are working with. The jobs that will pay nearly a six figure salary are with government contractors or directly with the government as their funds are consistent and lot higher than private companies such as a local cyber security company in your city. Government has more security clearance and do require certs 100% of the time due to DoD requirements. Sadly, if you do the government route, you are stuck with folks who have no passion for what they do and there is a lack of creativity and employee engagement because government jobs in that class do not focus on employee - they focus on metrics and the processes ordered by a higher commission in your department. You get paid well, but I warn you that you will not get the same level of TLC from private companies that will take care of you. Your position can be replaced at anytime and are not worried they will lose a person. You dispensable in government sectors so I suggest you stay away from it UNLESS the company operates as a sole owner who has a government contract but the company also offers services to 3rd party. For the most part, Certs are just an HR checklist for private and corp. Most places hire based on experience. They call your previous employer and validate your experience and the position and that is it.
That’s with any career. The training & certs will only do so much for you. They can get you in the door. But the “real certification” is having real world experience.
So why do ppl push college i feel like college only get you so far as well, it’s almost equivalent to just have a certification, and I feel like you take a lot of courses that don’t really pertain to you’re degree, to me it’s like busy work. But of course if you get certification without degree you’ll have to have experience but it’s the same with college nobody is just going to hire you just because you have a BA. Im in the comptia Reddit and I hear all the time how hard it is for ppl to find jobs and these are ppl that have BA in it, so to me it’s truly situational, and regardless the route you take you’ll need experience
Those boot camps misleading people. That's why I'm gonna go hard for my bachelor's with two more years to go. I rather have the bachelor's and get some certs after.
He speaks facts but also do what works for you. A certification just might advance your chances but you have to know where in the vast field of IT you want to pursue
This is from my experience. As an imigrant I came to the US at the age of 17. Went back to college at the age of 23. Took me 6 years to get my bachelors while working on the side as a cameraman / car detailer / studio tech and volunteering for cyber patriots. Got my cert before graduating (sec+) found sec+ useless in my situation. Got my ISC^2 assoc cert since i dont have 4 years of experience (4 years since I have a degree, but its normally 5). Got a job as a tech... was never able to use my education because of how the company operated. Didnt like said company because there were certain policies and sop that I ddnt personally agree with.. so I quit. Pay was pretty good, but doesnt feel satisfying. Bottom line is, I love cyber and I dont mind not earning a lot of money, as long as I get to work with like minded individuals. That being said, I decided to join the military. To be in this field, youll get burned out real quick if you dont get genuine satisfaction doing what youre doing and believing something you dont 100% agree with. Money is jusy money guys. If anything its just allowance to get you new toys to play with. 😂 If you want certs that actually matter, get a starter cert, get a job. Show your worth, then get sponsored to get GIAC certs.
You’re awesome dude, thank you for being real. It’s not what people want to hear and that’s why so many content creators will follow that “THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE MILLIONS WITH 2 CERTIFICATES” bs cuz that’s what people wanna hear so they get views. But you out here being real and actually caring. Cuz that’s what I want to hear, I know I’m not getting 6 figs on the jump, I just wanna learn what the path might look like for me to get there some day. Cuz some days I feel like I barely know if I’m starting right.❤🤘🏻
Ngl i’m only doing it just because I feel like I can make money but I’m glad that you just keeping 💯. Are used to think that way but now I just feel like it can turn into a passion that I’ll eventually just grow and learn in.
I’m so glad you bring this up! I’m excited when I see people take charge of their career and make a big transition into IT. But I have to admit that sometimes I get offended when people brag about these big salaries without being real about the fact that that’s often not where you start. AND neglect the fact that you’ll need to have a lot more knowledge than just cybersecurity to truly succeed. It’s like a slap in the face to people who’ve put in over 10 years of experience in all different areas of IT to get to that point. Often it’s having in-depth knowledge about about several areas beyond cybersecurity like networking, coding, databases and DevOps is what positions you best for those higher salaries. Yeah anybody can get there. But it don’t just come like that.
Get those certifications. Then get that job. Then put in that work, and make solid connections. I'm talking about going above and beyond and treating people with respect. A six figure salary is great, but if your don't like the job/place you working at for that salary then it won't be worth it at all.
@@TechTualChatter Let me clarify. I would get A+ or Sec+, then get that help desk job, then branch out to other areas in tech. People just want to jump right into cyber security but thats sometimes not the case. You can def get an IT job without a cert, but there is always a stipulation to get it within a timeframe. Putting in that work means resolving issues and keeping people and processes working/moving. Trust me you will reap the benefits by just doing that.
I stay saying this to my teenage niece. She think it's going to be easy. It's not going to be that easy. Nothing in life worth getting is going to be easy..
It’s enough to get you into the door especially if you’re new to the industry and actually want to learn technical skills, as long as you know the basic fundamentals & got a little of hands on experience that lets you know what your getting yourself into you can definitely land a job whether as an IT specialist or a entry level analyst. Cybersecurity is a field for people that actually want to actively learn doesn’t matter how experienced you are nobody is perfect it’s a field where you always have to constantly learn and stay aware even if you don’t know everything you always have a solid team that will help you everyone’s journey is different. If someone thinks they’re going to land a six figure job right out the gate just by a certificate they are delusional probably $60k-$70k max if your just starting off but if you feel as if you’ve developed the skills & you’re confident then I’d say it’s time to look for a different organization that will pay you more.

Big facts!!
True
Definitely!
Took the words right out of my mouth lol!
No cap💯

I made six figures straight out of my cybersecurity boot camp. This guy is knowledgeable but he’s a little bit of a hater. It’s all about how you sell yourself. Get your certs but also work on labs and build your hands on skills. I was overemployed making 220k fresh out my bootcamp. Never let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do. I do agree though it will be a TON of work. You have to grind hard af. But it is possible
lol did the bootcamp give you skills yes or no
Yeah I don't believe you've ever made 220k lol.

If you want certs that actually matter, get a starter cert, get a job. Show your worth, then get sponsored to get GIAC certs.
The key to making six figs is know your worth and be aggressive in salry negotiations.
You’re awesome dude, thank you for being real.

The beginning is a little backwards but I get your comment.

I agree with this but I still recommend getting certs or a degree . Whichever u want . From my experience I didn’t get a cert and just started making big bucks I got a decent job , then from there I worked my way up. The certs show you’re qualified but that’s not the only thing they look at experience matters too. It’s competitive also some ppl have degrees to increase earning potential but then on the other hand I know ppl with no certs no college degree who got a help desk job. Then field tech And evolved to network engineer system admin and etc… so honestly there’s a lot of routes to go and not everything will work for everyone.
