Earnings season is in full swing, and three more of my portfolio companies have already announced. One is Google which jumped to over 10% after announcing, another is CAT which dropped 7%, and the other is Valero which didn’t do much at all. In this video we go through their earnings reports and dig into how the companies are actually doing from a fundamental perspective.

There’s a 7 year stretch where Berkshire went no where. People would’ve 2nd guess their decision on holding during that stretch countless times and probably sold. Being patient is the hardest part.

For sure, this is why I use the “story” for each stock as a guide. It’s not about price. It’s about whether or not the story is intact. If so, the price should take care of itself over time

I’m very happy i picked up some Google shares under 100, only wish i would’ve bought more! Since they weren’t paying dividends at the time I didn’t want to invest too heavily in them since i prefer dividend payers

Hello Matt, SBUX is down 16% in one day, is it good to add at this price or wait for it?

I haven’t dug into the earnings all the way yet, my plan is to post for Friday. I will say though, in the surface it didn’t look very good. They slashed their forecast from like double digits to flat…which is just strange outside of an unexpected event (like lockdowns in China that they had in Q1 last year). But I haven’t analyzed all of it yet. IMO I would wait.

I kick myself for waiting a year ago on getting into CAT. If you watch though they are definitely a cyclic industry. Solid company!!!
