Disneyband+ Correction: We just returned from a 7-night on the Fantasty. The Disneyband does NOT replace the key to the world card, Disney still recommends you carry your card with you everywhere and the card is absolutely required if you use Senses spa or leave the ship while in any port, including Castaway Cay.
The Disneyband+ does have some gimmicky lights and vibration during the fireworks and while dining but overall I think the band is a waste of money unless you want one as a souviner.

I think the fact that the first cruise is over Christmas has had a big impact on booking lots of people including myself like to spend Christmas at home following their traditions.

How come you donât call it magic band plus?
Because the one for the cruise is a different product. You can use a Magicband+ in the parks and on the ships but, the Disneyband+ only works on the ships.
@@justins9886 Magaicband+ and Disneyband+ are interchangeable. There was an international trademark issue that prevented them from using the Magicband name on the ships. Note that the older style Magicbands (not +) work only at WDW. The Magicband+ work at WDW, DLR, and DCL.
Disneyband + work in the parks too
I read that they didn't have the international brand rights for "magicband" so they needed a name change for the ships
