I have a 1942d Mercury Dime and is in great condition except on the reverse side there is an engraved double ring around the middle band and facees. Not quite in the center but upper center. Appears to be a die error when making it. I have been searching to see if I could find another error similar with no luck so far. To your knowledge have you heard of any other 1942d Mercury Dimes with such an error?

You need to do a history series based on the date of the coin.

You should have also mentioned that even FB coins can have weak strikes in other areas. You have to watch for that. I expect my FB coins to have needle-sharp strikes all over, or I don't buy them. Lots of FB Mercurys from the '20s are like that.

You concluded "that's the importance of hairlines" however you didnt state the importance. You mentioned what they are and where they occur and how.
