Understandable
Glad to see Furi around, it feels like it came from the best wave of indie games around, but hasn't received much attention since then.
I really like the chain as a tutorial boss, his moveset almost acts like a blueprint for many of the moves the other bosses will use and unlike many first bosses he teaches basically everything you need to know while also putting up a decent fight, the only thing he is missing is a proper test on charged dashing but the strap already does that afterwards so I can let it slide
I think you forgot to realize the line's first phase is dictated entirely by how much you DECIDE to shoot, as most of the generated projectiles are from your own shooting spam.
Hot take, but I think The Line is one of the best boss fights in Furi. I enjoyed the bullhell segments, the music was fantastic, and I thought his power was really cool.
Nothing has ever resonated in my soul more than Alex’s pure hatred of the Line
Until you realise you can just parry the line and he becomes the easiest boss in the game (albeit still low in quality compared to the others)
@@coatsman5471 parrying hi was never this issue, it was the obnoxious first and last phases, and how tedious the middle phases were
@@mountaindoge141The Veat feels a bit more warranted of that title on Furier at least(more so for the last phase on Furier being mostly unsalvageable if you mess up once)
Actually I very much like "The Line", I have a knack for bullet hell bosses and I think from all bosses he is one of the most recognizable, unlike "the scale" or "the hand" which aren't too much of a different fight compared to others.
I love that the last phase kinda forces you to push on, although you create more bullets while shooting on the pillars, it's becomes some kind of "bullet control" matter, which makes it exciting the playing field becomes more and more crowded towards the end. Maybe they could've placed him a bit later in the game, but at the same time I think so early in the game he shows you the potential how different some bosses can be.

Great video, Guys! I haven't played Furi, but I've heard nothing but glowing praise for it for years. It definitely looks awesome and frankly reminds me a lot of Hyper Light Drifter (another underrated indie gem from 2016), especially with the emphasis on dash-moves.
Anyway, I'm enjoying your content as always and look forward to your future uploads!
For the Line's first phase, using charge shots reduces the number of projectiles significantly and gives you a lot more precision. You do still have to wait for the panels to line up to make good progress, but once you see the pattern it's almost bearable.
Currently binge-watching Furi videos, this is the wildest of them all
this is a nice video, burst is easily my favorite out of them all. random tip but for the scale you can deflect pretty much most of the green orb attacks, not just the desperation phase one. a lot of the game's projectiles can be deflected with proper timing, such as the song's projectile attack in the melee combat sequences
Putting the scale on rank 6 should be counted as a war crime.
Lore + Soundtrack + Fight made this guy my number one together with the Edge

Imma be honest I had a friend that obsessed over Furi but after a while he stopped talking about it. I never even knew it got additional content until... the start of this video.

One thing all these bosses do perfectly is music
So you were the channel that got hit with the elon hack I swear it's been a depressing thing to see alot of creator's that I enjoy getting their channels hijacked, glad you guys managed to make a comeback
the first phase of the line you can use precision to get through it by using charged shots and following the shields you destroyed if you using charged shots lowers how many projectiles are on screen unless you spam
Was considering replaying this and looked up some videos. Have to agree about The Line being annoying, but I just can't get behind The Star being bad or The Edge being the greatest. The initial CQC mutual one shot gimmick on The Edge is cute but the 2D phases are inconsistent and terrible. The Beat is just storytelling, The Chain gets a pass as a tutorial and The Hand is a boss that I didn't even remember was in the game.
As someone who played furi on launch I had the opposite experience with sekiro where having played furi helped me a lot with sekiro, I'm also very much convinced that some devs at from software played furi and it heavily influenced sekiro, some similarities are just too obvious for it to be a coincidence (and I'm not complaining it led to the best from software game).
Personally I don't hate the line that much though I agree with the placement but I think he's at the right spot in the game that he does his job as a boss reasonably well. Let's say that for a worst boss I still think he's better than most bosses in other games.
If I had to do a personal ranking (excluding the DLC bosses that I should really do someday =p) probably would be that :
- The line
- The hand (I think he's a bit bland)
- The beat (really like her story wise but the fight being anticlimactic on purpose makes it hard to place her super high but I don't think it's necessarily a flaw)
- The chain
- The star (used to hate it but it kinda grew on me after learning to speedrun it)
- The song
- The scale
- The strap (if I had to change one thing it'd be making the mechanic where she's attracted by alarms you step on a bit clearer)
- The burst (she gains a lot of point on vibe alone but I really struggle with the chase phases and could never get the hang of it, which is a shame cause it makes the start of the fight a slog, the rest of the fight is just amazing though and probably the best most well rounded fight overall)
- The edge (very simple boss but he's just done so well, left me somewhat speechless with how amazing of an experience it was to learn, I don't think he's the hardest fight, or the most interesting once you know it, but this first time facing him was a once in a lifetime videogame experience for me)
While not my favourite, I unironically think The Beat is the best designed boss in the game. Everything both within AND around the fight are made up so well. I genuinly think it's one of the best designed bosses EVER.
That being said, my top 2 (as they are basically tied) are The Burst (gosh I love her) and The Scale.

Shame you didn't cover the absolute MADNESS that is the Bernard fight.
I really love how both guys rankings are shown. If you haven't fought bernard yet you absolutely should. I'd call it my favorite boss but that would also feel cheating since he's sorta all of them.
At least on Furi difficulty, The Burst was easily my favorite boss in the game, she owned my ass for hours but felt so satisfying to beat.
yknow whats funny, i bought this game and finished it. and the 4 steam cards i got out of it were all The Line
Seems like I gotta get hip to this game, looks fun and seems like they got boss design down very well. Only 20 beans as well, doesn't break the bank. Even more interesting is some disparity between your rankings. Has me even more curious to see where I stand

Every boss in Furi is just on a spectrum of s tier. (Including the line in my opinion)
INSANE TIP FOR THE OLD DUDE BOSS, use charged shots and destroy the projectiles he reflects.

Im currently playing this game on Furier and im stuck at the Song.
I used to hate the Line just as much when i first watched this vid, not anymore. For some reason he's easier on Furier for me than normal...tf is that all about? Weird af but anyway, i agree with a comment saying how satisfying it is to style on this hoe when you git gud and just feel the "zen" while dodging and shooting your way through his defenses. I can't really explain it, but a commenter mentioning that "zen" and btw the Line seems to be all about that, it's satisfying AF fr. He went from one of the worst to one of the best for me. So with the insight i've aquired now, my ranking would be smth like this:
13: The Star, all my homies hate the Star. It's the Line if it wasn't fun lol
12: The Beat, cos it piss me off while fighting her
11: The Burst, hate how you have to change her stupid RNG aah and the final phase, even after 60 hours feels like i win by luck
10: The Scale, used to hate that mf, then i learnt to parry everything he throws at me
9: The Strap's aight, feels like she spams sometimes but anyway
8: The Chain's neat, wasn't expecting a beating when i started Furier
7: The Hand on the other hand didn't give any beating, only taketh which is a shame but still cool
5: Bernard, i just beat that mf for the first time and got a B, went to try again and this time i couldn't even beat and ragequit. Another time then. He ranks higher because of the difficulty and the few original moves he has. Overall he's the ultimate test of everything you've learnt and a nice challenge
4: The Flame, could rank higher if the music was existent
3: The Line, speaking of music, nothing tops this one for me, maybe
2: The Edge but that's besides the point, both tracks slap for different reasons and these 2 boss fights are great for also different reasons
1: The Song however is a fantastic boss and concept that had my jaw dropped through the whole fight. Music aside (best) shooting, slashing, parrying it all comes together to create such a great experience. Why do women have some of the best boss fights bruh. The Boss from MGS3, Maria from Bloodborne and now The Song, all kickass fights fr
I hated the edge by all my heart...he is meant to be the endboss outside of the secret Star one, and by the time you got there you felt pretty confident, and then you just died in like 5-10 seconds over and over and over again, the last 2 phases were even worse for me, the delayed attack always got me and it's really frustaring when you can hardly handel one attack in a melt or be melted fight, i got so good at the first phase that i can probably no hit it in 2-3 tries even after so many years tbh the first 2 phases are really fun if you know how to do it, the delayed attack can just fuck itself. The Hand was the other one i hated fighting, i can't remeber what was my problem with the fight, i just know it was soul sucking for me, and the only time i was thiking of quitting. Maybe the sniper's last phase was a bit too much for my taste, not because it was too hard, i think it was one of the easiest part of the fight, but to get there is a slogfest, and after the last bullet attack, you are pretty nervous to beat it with minimal hp, atleast for the first time so just one mistake can easly lead to a restart which is more frustrating than hard. I also played it on pc, which meant that the close duel aoe wall attacks were really hard to dodge, and felt a bit cheap. Overall the game was pretty fun.
I actually liked the line and star
One day I shall make more money and then I will give 5 pounds a month but for now I’ll just stay subbed

That being said, I hope the devs don't listen to you guys at all for their next game, because us Bullet Hell heads very much appreciated that element, and obviously the devs did too. No hate to you guys, though! It was a perfectly fair list
Line is great but star is genuinely a dogshit boss, shame every boss in furi is near perfect but the true final boss is absolute trash
