- This is a brief explanation of Easy Company's assault on the four 105 German Howitzers at Brecourt Manor in Normandy, France. It starts off at Upottery Airfield in UK and it is explained using Google Earth's Birdseye view.
Upottery Airfield Today; Coordinates: 50.8857899, -3.1611952
Field of German Howitzers; Coordinates: 49.3906929, -1.2262345
Copy and Paste these coordinates into Google Earth search bar and they will take you to the exact locations.
We just lost the last surviving officer of Easy Company weeks ago. May these men never be forgotten for who they were and what they gave.
Which officer from Easy Company was still alive in 2021?
@@JG54206 edward shames
Isn't Bradford Freeman still alive?
@@shona5512 Yes, but he wasn't a officer. Freeman is the last, still living enlisted member of Easy Company.
Im living in Lorraine, France (Northeast). We have a lot of bunkers / Forts from WWII around here, if you want to make a video about something in the area, let me know. I would be glad to help you with some footage. Maybe the foxhole from Bastogne ? Its about 2H drive from my house.
I would like to visit the location in the future. Maybe you can be my guide. Email me

Bastogne is a sobering place. It's very respectable for you to offer collaboration on such a topic. Cheers!
Thank you Forrest for this entertaining video this morning. My father flew the B19 bombers in WWII & only wish he was alive today to appreciate your wonderful videos. These brave few men involved in this 3 hour gunfight saved countless lives, thank you for clearly explaining what happened.
My dad was Navy, flew in the Pacific. I miss him every day. 🇺🇸
@@spiritmatter1553 my grandfather was a member of the easy company, he's still here and often tells us about the horrible German assaults

Another top quality video from a top quality channel. I never will forget the day I came across the Onion Field video you did. After that I was hooked on your Google Earth videos. Forrest Haggerty your videos are absolutely fascinating. That is because YOU are a fascinating man.
Thank you Nathanial. You are funny! I have enjoyed watching your videos as well. Very entertaining!!!
Ze best explanation of different battle scenes for this mythical assault !...many thanks ! Remember !
I went on Google Earth, street view, and located the memorial that you have marked on your presentation. Very cool!
Great video, thats some superb dedication!
Took my 3 sons to the university bookstore in Seattle many years ago and got an autograph and photo with Lynn Compton, helluva nice guy. He was lead prosecutor in the trial of Sirhan Sirhan for the killing of RFK. Thanks for the video, happy new year.
Real nice breakdown. Thank you.
With Band of Brothers being my all time favourite tv series, its incredible to see it all put into this perspective, incredible work :)
Great video Forrest as always.
Great video once again. I absolutely love the HBO series Band of Brothers based on Easy Company. Thank you for another insightful watch.
Love from the UK.
Thank you!
That’s crazy how close the cannons were to the village the allies were resting in. Really cool video.
Don't even know what event this is in history... But I saw you had a new vid. I had to watch and research. Thank you lots brother
Gr8 Video. Thanks for the upload! This was v interesting!

Man, these dudes were badasses. Hopefully they get the respect and honor they deserve, for saving countless lives. Great job on this video, always enjoy the Forrest Haggerty channel, best on the tube for dam sure.😉
Great as always!
Well done as usual my friend. Myself as well as all your subscribers would love to see videos from the area with you on location as street view is not available for those locations.
Another great video!
Forrest, thank you! I just read a book about the 101st Airborne titled The Filthy 13. I'm 73 and my dad waded ashore on Utah Beach. They met light resistance because of Winter's and his men. It was awesome to see the details! I'm in your debt!
Thank you for sharing. I bet your dad had some good stories!
@@forresthaggertychannel4301 He only talked about it in his later years, but yes he has some stories. Thank you again.
Thanks again!
Another great vid mate.
Amazing detail
Great video Forrest 👍👍
thanks , i just watched Band of brothers series again recently to thanks
Good Morning Mr.H. You’re up early. Happy healthy new year.
This is dope I’m in Nantes for a month and I’m heading to Normandy beaches on Friday. I am going to take a quick side trip to see this.
Another upload! 👍🏼 Would like to see you cover the Boston Bombing too
The one CZcamsr I’d ask for an autograph if I ever ran into lol!
I’m just north in Oregon so if I find out we have chuckwallas I’ll go there :)
Thanks for the history, it matters. Happy holidays to a great teacher.
Thank you for your support!
Nicely done!
Thank you for watching it. I truly appreciate it!
I have created a LARGE Kmz file of various Easy Company related spots, with info gleaned from books and visiting the areas. I was excited that I managed to spot the wash house where McClung came down from the tour bus. I had managed to pinpoint it from information in the various books. And while visiting Foy I was very familiar with the buildings from looking at them on Google Earth.
Great job Forrest!
The Operations Room has a good supplemental video on this action as well as the Easy Company crossroads action
Forrest youre on fire!! Another great one.
Not sure if there is enough information on it but I suggest making a video on the 2011 plane crash in Yaroslavl, Russia. It killed an entire hockey team, 44 people in total.
Excellent
I wanna go to bed but I see a new video and I click!
My uncle Sam Greer landed with the glider division during the Normandy Invasion. Not sure exactly where.
Sure proud of these Heros. Greatest Generation Indeed!!!
awesome .. thank you
Please consider doing more of these events that were documented in the series Band of Brothers. Having watched the series so many times, this was very interesting to see the actual location on Google earth. Healthy New Year, Friend.
Great video. Can u do one on the battle of the 73 easting during the gulf war.
Were the tree lines the same as shown on Google Earth in this video?
My dads grand uncle was shot in the leg that night was found by a French farmer and was rehabilitated in a barn. My grandfather has a letter saying he’s dead too. Pretty awesome story.
Forrest, I was lucky enough to visit Omaha Beach in France some years ago. You can actually stay at a hotel that is right off the beach. I highly recommend if you ever make it to France checking it out and also all the DDay related Museums and memorials in the area.
Thank you! Someday I will visit the area.
It's "Carwood Lipton"
Very interesting Forrest
That's awesome.
More! More! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏼
Awesome
Please do the rest of the band of brothers episodes
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
pretty cool!
God I love your channel
To go through all they went through and go so far - only to end up drowning in the ocean before ever even seeing action. Very sad stuff.
Could you do a video on the battle of little big horn?
It will be done in the future.
@@forresthaggertychannel4301 Awesome! I'd be willing to donate to a cashapp/superchat/PayPal if one is available :-D
There is a link available for PayPal and Venmo on my last video.
That’s pretty awesome
Nasty Nathanial sent me! ✌️👍
Where can find wher e you got this information Mr. Forrest?
Various books.
Enjoyed this but it's Carwood not Clifford Lipton.
15 minutes from major Winters home in Hershey. The Greatest Generation!
When they crossed over the French beaches was that supposed to be 1:10am, not 11:10? Just trying to follow the timeline. Thanks!
Yes. 1:10 am
Good video
Somebody's been watching Band of Brothers
Forgive my ignorance but how far were these guns from utah beach.
About 4 miles.
Great video Forrest. Please consider the Israeli Raid on Entebbe to rescue the hostages held captive at the airport in Uganda?
Can you do lt Thomas Meehan crash site
Forrest Haggerty doing a video on my country? Yes please! Kuddos to all the brave ones who fought on this soil
I Always find your videos extremely interesting. Love WW2 topics, loved the Russian Tzar one, the Epstein one was nothing like I envisioned it, the Kobe Bryant one made me cry and cry as well as Paul Walker and his Dear friend, the Manson videos, again fantastic, James Dean’s location was spot on; there are so many more…. Pearl Harbor, your friend crashing into the corn field 🙏🏼, the Peruvian soccer team? But, my all time favorite,……… the lunar landing modules and seeing the astronauts tiny footprints and little things they left behind. Idky, that takes the cake for me.
So, I was thinking….. any interest in the civil war? I visit Gettysburg about 3x a year. Something my Father really got me into. I’m interested in more locations. Ya know, if you have time, lol. (Please forgive the unforgivable grammar and run on sentences.)
Thanks as always Mr. Haggerty!
Yes. I’m interested in Civil war locations. I’m just waiting until I have the time and freedom to go to these locations. I would like to include footage of the actual locations for any of those videos:))
Forrest, don’t know if you’ll see this, but I think Germanwings Flight 1925 would be a great subject for a video. The copilot locked the captain out of the cockpit and deliberately crashed the plane into the Alps in 2015. I’d like to see that on Google Earth.
I’ll look into it.
@@forresthaggertychannel4301 Whoo hoo! Thanks. Mentour Pilot has a good video on it. Some chilling details from the "black box" recordings, won’t mention them here.
I will look that channel up.
I was unaware that some paratroopers were dropped into the ocean
Bill Guanere said “That’s the reason they call me Wild Bill..Cause i did alot of killin’ on D day”...lol
Never clicked on a video this fast lol
