This fight was a REAL struggle. For a couple of days I didn't think I could do it. Thanks all so much for watching, supporting and for all the insight in the comments. Was a great adventure but there's more coming! Please comment with your favourite moments from the series and I'll pick some to make shorts out of.
Congratulations on beating the dlc.
I've more or less just given up on the consort radhan fight. Respecced a bunch of times, tried multiple approaches and i just can't. I can get him down to 10% (roughly) health regularly enough (when i can avoid the comet drop), but that last bit, he ups aggro and spams nonsense combos constantly.
Dipping back into the main game and everything feels significantly easier, even Malenia was nothing compared to even the 'simpler' dlc bosses. 4 attempts and success at that.
The DLC bosses are HARD. I don't think I'd be able to get through many of them without ashes or summoning an NPC or using the one OP strategy that speedrunners will figure out. Even blind I was able to beat all the bosses except Malenia without doing anything too nutty in terms of strategy. Just learning their patterns and practicing can work. I think I get what they were thinking though. This is it for Elden Ring so we'll make it as hard as we think they can take it to create that feeling of accomplishment for even the super die-hards. The problem is that's not a lot of people so it'll turn off most of the rest.

do you know more or less the recording time of how long it took you?
Probably about 5 hours over 4 days. Some of it was farming scarlet pots, some of it trying out some different strategies like which spells worked well and finally I would sometimes turn the game on and just do a few attempts to practice their moveset. So definitely one of the longer amounts of time it took me to take a boss out. This was by FAR the hardest though as I HAD to use ashes AND what I would normally consider some cheesy strats just to even have a chance.
Although I get it, but you making use of the things given in the DLC, I think you made right use of the items available

This fight took me a couple of days and I finally won because people were doing a build called 'LetMeTankHim" which they dress as Moore and tried to take all the coming damage, but I don't care for the means, it was still a very much hard fight.
Yep. Even with someone to tank when the boss targets you it's hard to dodge even in the first phase!
Radahn gets hit with Scarlet Rot... Radahn: "Not this shit again..."
Radahn doesn't seem all there to me. Not sure he'd even notice.
Trina has some unused dialogue that would've probably been used after you defeat Miquella:

"Ah I see you're gullible. Miquella spoke to me in private and he says to drink this potion..." And then you get a key item that if used, deletes your save file 😅
Btw, you can sorta choose to follow Miquella! You have to get grabbed by the second phase twice and then you get:
H E A R T S T O L E N
which acts like a death, but logically there would be an Age of Kindness in between your next attempt.

I'll admit I've given up on this fight at NG+2. I've tried everything except healing Taylew, so I guess I'll give that a go at some point. I've also seen that you can run underneath Radahn when he's chargin up the big blast. But I'm so bad at dodging his moves. I literally can't see what's happening in the second phase.

The boss doesn't seem that well thought out unless the idea was that you need to search through everything you have and find the few strategies that will work. Doing it solo and depending on dodges in that second phase seems pretttttty hard. The people I've talked to have found tanking up is the easiest solution.
At NG+2, I have maxed armor and holy resist and it's still a two-hit death 🙃
I'll probably end up playing again at NG+0 at some point and have a better chance

I truly think they hit a great balance for 99% of the DLC. It's just the final boss that goes too far.
Agreed. They usually scale things back over time. For their design philosophy it's better to go hard and then soften it up after feedback.
Maybe so. I did wait several months to play the base game, so I didn't see what it was like at release.

Interesting that Marika kept her two halves, but Miquella decided to discard one half of himself. I'm wondering if there is a path where you can choose Miquella like if you choose Ranni.
Highlight of the playthrough for me was the horror transition. Caught me completely off guard. The madness mansion was second. And when you opened the Marika door with the Mother gesture (lol you said it later) I was so shook 🤯

you focus on the 'gods' but always reference the 'greater will' as something above them. just what is the 'greater will'? If we get to be Elden Lord are we the 'greater will'?
It's complicated. These "gods" seem to be some combination between cosmic or terrestrial entities, natural powers/laws, and abstract concepts. The Greater Will, as we'll find out more towards the end, is just the one that exerts the greatest influence in the past and the present. They are responsible for The Elden Ring which governs the acceptable natural laws of the land. We won't be The Greater Will if we become Elden Lord but The Greater Will or Marika seems to really want us to become Elden Lord as the current order is broken because of The Shattering of the Elden Ring and the aftermath. If we become Elden Lord we'll be part of the new "order" that replaces the current one comprised of Marika, Radagon, and The Elden Ring all being vassals of The Greater Will. It's hard to answer more clearly without spoiling big reveals we'll get at the end but I can if you want. The other aspect to this is that not everything is explained clearly so lots is open to your own interpretation and I'll share ideas about possible interpretations as we go along. The simplest way to think about The Greater Will right now is like you said, a god above the others.
I can't believe it took you that long to figure out to use the rot.. It was rot that took him out the first time, so it would make sense that it would work again... Now you have to go back to that underground area from the early game that was "sealed by Miquella" and see what's there...
@@Flying0Dismount I'm not a big fan of using dots. It never feels satisfying so I use it as a last resort with my usual playstyles. So it's not so much that I didn't think of it. It's just that I don't like to use that and poison and so on.
