      He was a very confident manager. He knew his team would react in the right manner following such defeats. The problem arises when the managers dont have players to fight back after such defeat. Its all about mentality and staying calm.

You had the spice boys of Liverpool, McManaman and Fowler tearing it up weekly with Stan Collymore chipping in. Shearer was still at Blackburn and scoring for fun! Euro 96 was round the corner! I was 10 years old...what are you talking about!! If I could relive those years and memories I would. Thats when football was pure. Loyal players, guys you could by off chance see outside the stadium if you were lucky. Stefan Swarchz walked around Highbury after a game....football is a disgrace now....VAR, £200 million for players, overrated foreign players and managers. Back then to make the league you had to be a superstar in your own country. Zola, Asprilla, Juninho at Boro. Keep your mouth closed about that era

      @@StXGaMeRalli Ole led Molde to first ever Norwegian league title, beating the likes of rosenborg and kristansund, topped the group of europa league with Celtic and ajax in it, yes he did got cardiff relegated(Klopp also relegated Mainz), but his achievements with Molde are commendable as well, if its a Norwegian league doesn't mean its EASY to win things there.

    He didn’t really have anything to lose to be honest he put his youngsters in taking a gamble and kept faith with them. If he lost the league this season he could hold his hands up and say I played youngsters give me more funds next season but if he won it it would propel them to dominate the league for the next 15 years. He got it right and they dominated the league for the next 15 years. He new what he had but young players need to be nurtured

    I saw the title of this video and I thought there is no way Roy Keane ever lost 5-0 to Newcastle. I checked the lineups and he didn't play a minute that day and united had a relatively poor team out, I assume as a result of the game in Europe. Some great players in that Newcastle team though.

      Were you extremely young/not born at the time?
      Apart from only Keane & Giggs ManUtd's starting lineup was normal for 1996/97. The likes of May, Butt & Solskjaer all played more than Scholes that season but Scholes still came on. Solskjaer was top scorer in his first season which was that one. Poborsky wasn't bad at all and contributed quite a bit to the team winning the title although he was only at ManUtd a year & a half.
