    Hi Bruno, I can fill you in on why Coast was added, as I'd like to think I had a big influence on that setting. I asked for this setting because as a Spec 17.5 / 13.5 racer, I was having an issue with the amount of motor drag the newer designs were producing. These newer rotors with the greater magnetic strength was creating quite a lot of drag when you let off the throttle, even if you set the drag brake to 0%, it still felt like you had 10% or more drag brake with these strong rotors. To eliminate this, we created Coast, which is like you said, the opposite of Drag Brake, so we can counter act the forces of the high strength rotor and find a % that would allow me to coast through a sweeper for example.
    Hope that helps if you ever find yourself in that situation, Great video!

      Jason how much coast do you recommend for 2wd 17.5 with a really strong motor

    • @JasonDias
      @JasonDias Před 3 lety +3

      @@kriskukielczak3446 it’s really dependent on the layout of the track, but with a SchuurSpeed purple rotor I was running between 4% and 10%, lower amount on tighter tracks.
      It does take getting used to if you’ve been running these strong rotors without it.

      A sensible setting. I've returned to the hobby from a long break and immediately found the 'coast' was lacking in 13.5t brushless, so resolved to adding forward trim on the TX to get a similar feeling. I'll keep an eye out for ESC with coast instead

    Thank you very much for these excellent explanations, Bruno! Since my old ESC has quit its job, I invested now in this awesome product as well and my 2WD buggy is feeling like a new car: No oversteer when hitting the throttle, no loose rear end during braking any more. I never would have believed that an ESC makes such a difference. Your guide just helps a lot to understand how to adjust things the right way. Congratulations to your touring car title and the very strong performances in 1/8 and 1/10 championships 2022!

    Great video, thank-you! I just got my OTA bluetooth connector to use with the XR8 pro in 1/8 ebuggy. Looking forward to trying the cheating mode! I am guessing for rough, dusty tracks, I should look around 15 or lower throttle rate, 16k or 24k frequency, and leave the softening at 0?

    I agree 100% about Trottle control is most important setting. I think thats same as other brands call punch. Just became HW esc owner. XR8Pro for my XB8e. Raised from 15 to 20 to 25 and got more direct response from the car to my throttlefinger. Then added som boost and the car wake up like crazy. Jumps is much easier now. I will try lower TC to 20 next time and se how it feels with boost. As you say i removed 2-3sec on laptime, But still learning new car & track. I have a new XR10 pro in box waiting for my xb2.

    Hi Bruno, thanks for this video. Very informative. One topic I’m thinking about with the Hobbywing speedos. It is necessary to use this wifi-interface or can I go with the normal program card?
    Can I adjust the throttle control rate with the program card at all? I like the thing about the wifi interface, that i can save the parameters of the different Cars in the app.
    Tell me your opinion. I‘ll appreciate.

    • @BrunoCoelhoRC

      Hello! You can use both Wifi i or Program card. The wifi is very good you can save many setups on the phone and export it in PDF or JPG or Hobbywing file.
      The program card you can only change the parameters.
      I hope that it helped you! 😉
